How would this PM make you feel??

If you knew someone paralyzed in a car crash, would you PM them and say, "Hey, I just read this article about Karma and Paralysis!"? Are there any circumstances under which that would be taken as nice?

If such an article about Karma and Paralysis existed and you happened upon it, would you send it or even mention it to the paralyzed person?

I don't understand this post. I don't know who your friend is. I don't know who the sender of the PM is. I don't know what the article was about. Do you even know what the article was about? Did you read it? I'm not going to bash a nameless, faceless person because you assume (or you seem to "know" without giving us any evidence) he/she is being cruel. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish here other than

I think someone that is stiring the pot would be someone that is trying to start a heated debate. I just looked back at the posts up to yours, and the votes are about 10 saying it's nasty, 2 not nasty, 2 on the fence and a bunch of repeat posters give or take a few going either way. That would be a decided vote one way. I guess most of the people didn't have any problem understanding it.

Well Sweetie, I certainly didn't see that "fact". Did you? If there was a link to the article that reflected such cruelty, I'd respond differently. But, this just seems to a post about "Look at poor me, someone was mean to me. I want all of you to be on my side."

One more time Beth. I posted out of emotions which was maybe not the best choice. I do not need validation. I already know what motivated that poster to send the PM and actually I am probably feeding right into her nonsense by allowing her to see that she achieved her goal by causing hurt feelings. Oh well, live and learn. Peace.

To invoke Karma into the PM projects the thought that yes, the sender was trying to inflict pain while under the guise of being nice.

That's just so wrong and very twisted.

Now see that is not how I read it - I took it to mean that the article said that folks who had problems with infertility often ended up pregnant when they decided to adopt thus the hoping it goes quickly comment. Maybe since I don't know any of the parties involved I'm just being optomistic but that was my very first thought.

Stop screwing with people. Why are you alway so mean? Everytime you ask for opinions or have something to say, are you looking for validation? Implying karma has anything to do with a persons inability to conceive a child is nothing but hateful and mean spirited, but perhaps you wouldn't notice that behavior because it looks so normal to you.

Good grief. There's apparently a lot of personal subtext behind this question and some of the responses.

This thread is closed due to the insults and general nastiness.

If there's a poster who upsets you or who you do not agree with, we have a handy little IGNORE feature that will prevent you from seeing that person's posts or PMs to you. I would suggest that the OP and her friend use that feature to avoid being angered by the person whose PM caused the upset.
