How would CR DVC sales work??

I bought BCV when it existed and had no interest in SSR so I didn't pay attention to how it worked. If CR DVC is announced in Oct how would it work? Do you put a downpayment only and start monthly payments when construction completed?? Or do you start paying from day one?? Thanks. How much do you think a point will cost?? Will it have its own point chart?? I think it will be the most points of DVC Resorts.

Current DVC owners would get a pre-construction price....I would guess $110 per point and the point usage would be 15-20% higher than the current highest units.

They sent out special notices for pre-sale for BCV and SSR with the price and the usual $10 off per point if you purchased by a certain time. I don't know about if you finance when you start paying as I did not finance through Disney. The deed was not recorded until the unit was declared into inventory so although I purchased SSR presale I think my deed was not recorded until May. There will be a specific date for that price. I got in on the last day each time for those two resorts thanks to a guide who called me from home since I had called on her day off for SSR.

that was how SSR was done - so I am expecting the same thing.

$110 to $125

BWV definitely was higher than OKW. So I am guessing it will be higher than SSR. which is lower than BWV, BCV and VWL. I am betting it will be higher than the others too.

maybe starting off at 13 to 14 points per night. Of course it might be 15 (okw 8, bwv 12) points per night.

I agreed with you - it will be the highest point wise - it is on the monrail, plus you can walk to the MK.

but at least people will stop complainting about SSR. :dance3:

I can't wait to heard the complains about CRV or AKLV....

just wish we knew what it will look like. can't be the architect plans we have seem - not at only 8 floors.

Even if a new DVC resort is announced in October, that does not mean that sales will begin immediately. Eagle Pines was announced a loing time ago - and preliminary construction work did begin, but no sales have occured there yet. SSR sales began about 9 months before the resort opened - when all other resorts were sold out - but the resort itself had already been under construction for over a year.

The sales program has varied at each resort. Some did offer pre-sales, some didn't offer sales until the resort was already open.

Regardless how the sales program has been offered in the past, nothing will happen until DVC makes the official announcement outlining a timeline.

Stay Tuned! :)

I'll say it again - Disney would be nuts to charage a significant premium for points at one resort over another. If you do so, you basically break down the whole concept of using points at any DVC resort (most people who pay a significant premium for VCR points won't use them for anything but VCR stays.)

If they think they can get more money per room, they way to do it is with higher points/night costs, not higher $/point costs.

I agree with Spicey on this one...I feel Disney will jump at the chance to sell contracts for very sought-after and highly anticipated resorts at a higher price per point. It will increase the price for any unsold SSR as well...but they will just offer some type of special promo for SSR only that will bring the price down to what is currently being offered.

Are people willing to pay...you betcha!!! That's the whole point of having the 11-month booking window, to be able to have an advantage over other people that what to stay there but don't own contracts.

I think the points will be the same as BCV/BWV/WLV. They also have easy access to parks. If the points per night are higher, people will buy at CRV, stay a couple times, realize the views not so great from 7 of the 8 stories and they are far away from the food and wine festival, multiple unique restaurant choices, Rock n Rollar Coaster, Soarin, Illuminations, Tower of Terror and more. Then, they will use BCV and BWV for the lower point costs and to have access to two parks not to mention BCV SAB. A deluxe is a deluxe is a deluxe. They certainly don't charge more per night at Contemporary than they do at BCV because of the location on the resort side.

Thanks everyone. I personally hope they take awile to announce CR DVC . I just got used to no loan payment :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am!! :wave2:

I have been waiting a long time. I have the cash available when the time is right.

Years ago we looked into buying a DVC but their locations did not interest me.

I told DH we should buy into DVC if and only if a DVC is built with access to the monorail.

So if they build a DVC at the Contemporary please count me in! :yay:

Perhaps they should add an additional 8 floors above BCV and BWV to accomidate all the SSR and CRV ressies :rotfl:
