A few memories of a wonderful friend, a member of our DIS family, Beverly
Lynn.
Today we all found out the sad news of another DIS friend and family member,
Beverly Lynn, aka ~Sparkly~ Zoe,aka A kid at heart, had
passed away, very suddenly and unexpectedly this past Wednesday. Over the
years, Beverly had several names on the DIS, but a rather consistent persona.
I think some of the various sayings in her several profiles (interests,
occupations, signatures and the like) say a lot about Beverly.......
comfortably numb I'm a disney mom, Disney,Disney,Disney!, A little bit of this, a little bit of that Happiness is seeing your ex on a milk carton (she did have a rather nasty ex) I love Disney! and Disney.
I think those sort of say a lot about a person. She loved her daughter,
Aryn, pictured above, (and still in her Beverly Lynn DIS signature), she loved
Disney, she had a sense of humor and she told you like it was, whether you liked
it or not, regardless the consequence. She was a straight shooter from the
word go. I always got a kick out of Beverly and her antics here on the DIS
(well, a few times she drove me nuts, LOL), a hoot she could be. She was
loyal, she was caring, she was tough, she was a softie, she was outspoken, she
was quiet....she was a friend, family.
The first time I met Beverly Lynn (and she did not mind being called Beverly,
though I think preferred Beverly Lynn, BUT, she would give you a true earful if
you called her Bev, LOL), was at an impromptu DIS meet that I was able to get
off the ground during a business trip I had to Atlanta in late 2000. She
lived in Pittsburgh, but she was going to be there too, at that time, in
Atlanta, looking into an airline job she was interested in. We were able
to round up Beverly, Robin and Michael, ead79 (Elisabeth), sha_lyn (Sharon) and
her whole family, and myself. It was great meeting all these DIS'ers (had
met Robin earlier at WDW), Beverly among them. She was fun-loving, a real
jokester. Here she is, above, a great smile she so often had.
It was a great group, Michael, Robin, Sharon, Beverly, me, Elisabeth,
Sharon's DH, Tony and DD, Brianna.
Early in 2001, February, I was planning a trip to the World. I was
going solo. DIS'er Teri, (miss ya, Teri) seeing that I was going alone
(and feeling sorry for me, LOL) (but I think also seeing a great opportunity to
put together a neat WDW meet) organized over a period of a couple months, what
came to known as CCSS (ladies, help me here, what did it stand for???). A
really super neat group of DIS'ers all made impromptu trip arrangements, many
spur of the moment (I guess that is the definition of impromptu, eh?) and made
it to the World for a few days of friendship, meeting each other (I don't think
any of had ever met any of the group in person), fun and laughs. It was for me,
and I know for most, if not everybody there, one of most fun times I have yet
experienced here as a result of the DIS. It was a great group of people,
and among them were Beverly Lynn, Leota (Eileen) (Beverly and Eileen, meeting at
the World this week, would go on to become the VERY best of friends) and
Teejay32 (Tee), pictured above.
From Tiggersmom on one of Beverly's threads on the CB today.....Typing through
tears. I just got back from WDW to read about BL.
She was truly a wonderful and unique person. I can picture the WL lodge late at
night, meeting the cleaning staff. All these memories from that trip come
rushing back. I will not walk through WDW again and not think about dashing to
HM and trying to figure a way to cut through the parade, or corn on the steps of
City Hall.
Somehow (I sure can't remember), I was relegated to having Spiderman outfit
(though waaaaaaaaay to small, thankfully, for me to wear). Here,
Beverly (not able to hold in her laughter), Eileen, Teri (the original CCSS
organizer), Emmy, Tiggersmom (Lisa) and Tee, all doing the victory sign (I think that is what is was, LOL)
