A few memories of a wonderful friend, a member of our DIS family, Beverly
Lynn.

Today we all found out the sad news of another DIS friend and family member,
Beverly Lynn
, aka ~Sparkly~ Zoe,aka A kid at heart, had
passed away, very suddenly and unexpectedly this past Wednesday. Over the
years, Beverly had several names on the DIS, but a rather consistent persona.
I think some of the various sayings in her several profiles (interests,
occupations, signatures and the like) say a lot about Beverly.......

comfortably numb I'm a disney mom, Disney,Disney,Disney!, A little bit of this, a little bit of that Happiness is seeing your ex on a milk carton (she did have a rather nasty ex) I love Disney! and Disney.

I think those sort of say a lot about a person. She loved her daughter,
Aryn, pictured above, (and still in her Beverly Lynn DIS signature), she loved
Disney, she had a sense of humor and she told you like it was, whether you liked
it or not, regardless the consequence. She was a straight shooter from the
word go. I always got a kick out of Beverly and her antics here on the DIS
(well, a few times she drove me nuts, LOL), a hoot she could be. She was
loyal, she was caring, she was tough, she was a softie, she was outspoken, she
was quiet....she was a friend, family.

Picture1.jpg

The first time I met Beverly Lynn (and she did not mind being called Beverly,
though I think preferred Beverly Lynn, BUT, she would give you a true earful if
you called her Bev, LOL), was at an impromptu DIS meet that I was able to get
off the ground during a business trip I had to Atlanta in late 2000. She
lived in Pittsburgh, but she was going to be there too, at that time, in
Atlanta, looking into an airline job she was interested in. We were able
to round up Beverly, Robin and Michael, ead79 (Elisabeth), sha_lyn (Sharon) and
her whole family, and myself. It was great meeting all these DIS'ers (had
met Robin earlier at WDW), Beverly among them. She was fun-loving, a real
jokester. Here she is, above, a great smile she so often had.

Picture2.jpg

It was a great group, Michael, Robin, Sharon, Beverly, me, Elisabeth,
Sharon's DH, Tony and DD, Brianna.

Early in 2001, February, I was planning a trip to the World. I was
going solo. DIS'er Teri, (miss ya, Teri) seeing that I was going alone
(and feeling sorry for me, LOL) (but I think also seeing a great opportunity to
put together a neat WDW meet) organized over a period of a couple months, what
came to known as CCSS (ladies, help me here, what did it stand for???). A
really super neat group of DIS'ers all made impromptu trip arrangements, many
spur of the moment (I guess that is the definition of impromptu, eh?) and made
it to the World for a few days of friendship, meeting each other (I don't think
any of had ever met any of the group in person), fun and laughs. It was for me,
and I know for most, if not everybody there, one of most fun times I have yet
experienced here as a result of the DIS. It was a great group of people,
and among them were Beverly Lynn, Leota (Eileen) (Beverly and Eileen, meeting at
the World this week, would go on to become the VERY best of friends) and
Teejay32 (Tee), pictured above.
From Tiggersmom on one of Beverly's threads on the CB today.....Typing through
tears. I just got back from WDW to read about BL.

She was truly a wonderful and unique person. I can picture the WL lodge late at
night, meeting the cleaning staff. All these memories from that trip come
rushing back. I will not walk through WDW again and not think about dashing to
HM and trying to figure a way to cut through the parade, or corn on the steps of
City Hall.

Picture6.jpg

Somehow (I sure can't remember), I was relegated to having Spiderman outfit
(though waaaaaaaaay to small, thankfully, for me to wear). Here,
Beverly (not able to hold in her laughter), Eileen, Teri (the original CCSS
organizer), Emmy, Tiggersmom (Lisa) and Tee, all doing the victory sign (I think that is what is was, LOL)

Picture7.jpg

And here, same group, with me in place of Spidey outfit. Beverly seems
to have controlled herself finally.

Picture5.jpg

And here is one of the custodial staff, starting to clean the beautiful lobby
of the Wilderness Lodge. We were up LATE!!!!!!!

Picture3.jpg

And here is Beverly and another DIS'er who became a real life friend, fellow Pittsburgher,
Ranatra (Sandi). Sandi was staying with her hubby, Billy, and several
other friends at the brand new (at the time) Wilderness Lodge Villas. She
took Beverly and me on a tour of the place.

Picture10.jpg

Another highlight of that trip for anyone who was there (and there was quite a
group) was a dinner at Spoodles!!!! The head CM had to go upstairs to the
office and look at blueprints to figure out how to fit us in, LOL, what a
classic!!!!!

Picture9.jpg

And here, Eileen, Beverly and Lisa were enjoying it all!!!!! Three super
ladies.

From Emmy on one of Beverly's threads on the CB today.....I just
can't stop crying- now reading Dan's post just brought back another flood of
wonderful memories of Beverly and how she truly was fun loving and smiling ( a
group breakfast at Chef Mickey's comes to mind)- also a group of us making a mad
dash through the parade crowds, in and out of stores etc- to see if we could get
to the haunted Mansion before closing!

Picture11.jpg

Emmy mentioned above the mad dash thing. Well, after Spoodles dinner,
someone mentioned that the Electric Light Parade was running like in 30
minutes. It was also moving to Disneyland at the end of that week I think,
so it was a last opportunity for us to see it. Now, mind you, we were at
Spoodles, on the Boardwalk, and ELP was starting in 30 minutes!!!! We
said, 'Let's try!!!'. We made it and what fun we had. Here Babaan,
Lisa, Emmy, Beverly (giving somebody THE look), CarolA and Eileen (laughing so
much, maybe wetting her pants). Gosh we had fun!!!!!

Picture12.jpg

We got a great sitting/viewing spot, right in front of the firehouse.
Here, in red, is Sleepingbty72 (Cindy, a friend of Emmy), Emmy, Beverly
(pointing out something, looking happy as a kid), then CarolA (clapping), Babaan
and Lisa.

Now, after the parade passed, Eileen (Leota....see, the tie-in??) said we
could make it to the Haunted Mansion for one last ride, if we hurried. Now
remember, the parade has just exited the start in Towne Square and is still
loping around the Square and headed up Main Street. As the last float
passes us, we pick up shop and head up Main Street too. We all duck into
the shops, zipping along at breakneck speed, until.....until we got to the
Hub. We had to wait there as the CM's would not let us cross the parade
path, near Sleepy Hollow. FINALLY, the parade passed by, headed on up into
Liberty Square. The whole group of us, all adults, acting like we were 7
and 8 years old again, charged off, with the time about 8:57 PM. I guess
we got to the Mansion about 9:01 as we were not successful in getting one last
Doombuggy ride in that night. Even with our persuasive pleading, we could
not sway the CM. Where is Safari Steve when you need him, LOL?

But, what did we accomplish? Another wonderful memory we all will
forever remember when we think of that CCSS week, a week with friends and family

Picture13.jpg

And here we are, on the motor launch getting ready to leave the dock at MK
for a short hop back to the WL. Me, Eileen, Lisa, Cindy, Emmy and
Beverly. Tired, but full of memories.

Picture14.jpg

As we started to gather, the group was really getting into the swing of
it. Most had already known each other by this time in our trips.
From left, man in shorts is Ed, Janette's DH, then Emmy in blue, Sleepingbty72 in pink (back to us), CarolA in pink also, Leota behind her with
backpack and Beverly Lynn between 2 pinks. You can see Eileen here,
chatting with Beverly, building that friendship, one that would become so real.

Picture15.jpg

From very far left..Emmy, Lisa, Beverly, Eileen, (what a nice look of the
three of them) Ed (Janette's
DH), Janette (another good friend of Beverly's and the one who got a hold of me
last night, telling me of Beverly's passing and looking for Eileen's phone
number to get in touch with her), Janette's DD, Samantha, newHere (Nina)
(another missing DIS'er of late and for much too long a time) and Cindy.

Picture16.jpg

Goofy having a blast with Beverly Lynn and Leota. They're cool!!!!

Picture17.jpg

Chef Mickey making nice with Eileen, Beverly giving him a wide berth, LOL.

Picture18.jpg

A nice group shot of all those who were at breakfast. Beverly id in top
row, right next to Goofy. What a great group of DIS'ers, so happy so many
got to know Beverly, as well as each other here.
Picture8.jpg

And a picture on the last day of CCSS, Leota (Eileen), Teri (thanks for
pushing to get this organized, Teri, and we do miss ya), Beverly (God rest your soul)
and Teejay, four super ladies.

Picture19.jpg

I guess we enjoyed Spoodles so much that when DIS-Con was held at the end of
2001, a small group of us returned for breakfast one morning. Here are
Eileen, Beverly, Towncrier (John) and Janette. All three, good buddies of
Beverly.

Picture20.jpg

And later on at DIS-Con, an evening at the Swan's Kimono's karaoke.
Beverly, Towncrier, SideShowBob (SSB) and FairyGF, (Jennifer). I think
Beverly is giving me the evil eye for taking the picture, LOL.

Picture21.jpg

Another day at DIS-Con, again, good buddies Beverly and Eileen, here with
Eileen's son, Max, over by Space Mountain.
I get the idea here, that Beverly and Eileen became very good friends, real
life friends, through the link of the DIS, and that I think is very cool.
We do become friends here, some more so than others, but we do become friends,
and family. And that is good.

Picture22.jpg

And lastly, here is one of those 'glamour' shots of Beverly, that DIS'er
disneydebk (I know her as DebK, or Deb, from when I met her in Philly) emailed
to me so I could add it here. Deb said Beverly had mailed it some time
back to her, I guess when they were talking about glamour shots one day.
It was taken in '98 or '99. It was folded for mailing and therefore a bit
worse for wear. A pretty lady for sure. And thank you, Deb, for
sharing.

Picture23.jpg

And one more, here of Deb's son, Kyle and Beverly's daughter, Aryn, in 2000,
when they were both at the World at the same time. Cute, aren't they?
And finally, one more of that cute, curly topped little girl of Beverly's,
Aryn, the little girl she lived for, she loved so much. We all got to see
her a lot, proud mom she was, good friend, family.
faad4d6d.jpg

God bless you, Beverly, and God speed. Have a Disney day.

Dan

That's such a sweet remembrance of BL, Dan!! A fantastic post of yours...as usual. And what a beautiful little girl her daughter is. Hugs, prayers, and PD for Aryn and the rest of BL's family.

Thank you for posting this Dan. I just can't believe she is gone.

Rest in peace BL you will be missed.

Thank you Dan for posting these pictures and for sharing your memories. It's still so hard to believe that this has happened.

Beautiful tribute. Beverly Lynn always made me smile. I will miss her very much.

Dan, this is a beautiful retrospective of Bevery Lynn and the people she touched throughout her cyber life.

Thank you for sharing.

That was a beautiful tribute. mY thoughts and prayers are with Beverly Lynn's family and friends.

Thanks, Dan. Seeing Beverly's smiling face cheered me up a bit.

I never met her in person, but we talked on the phone a lot. When I got up this morning, I was feeling so sad that I couldn't put a face to my memories of her, but this post helped to do just that.

Thank you.

I had forgotten that I was to meet the CCSS Ladies in 2002 I believe but it never came to pass, as I believe Beverly was having problems at that time.:( It was going to be around the time I was going to WDW in late Jan. I am so sorry she passed, and I give {{{Hugs}}} to all here on the borads and her Family.:( :(

Thanks for the wonderful tribute Dan. Beverly Lynn will be sorely missed here and on the other boards where she posted. I'll miss her a lot.

An absolutely beautiful tribute Dan. Thank You so much for putting this together. I know she had a lot of friends here including yourself, and we are all going to miss her very much. I will be going to the funeral home later today and the funeral tomorrow morning and I know if you were all closer you would all be there as well to say your goodbyes.
We Love you Beverly and we will never forget you.

Dan, that was lovely, and Olena, thanks for also posting your pictures and memories.

BL (I will always think of her as that - not Beverly, or Beverly Lynn, or any of the other names she had here - she was BL to me) was a very fun loving person. You could always count on her to keep it light. I loved her stories of her inlaws (One Eyed Annie stands out in particular :p ) -- she was the type of person who made the best of a bad situation. She will be missed. :(

Today I grieve for that beautiful child, who was the apple of her mother's eye, and for my very dear friend Leota, who is missing her closest friend today. They remain in my prayers, as do all of us in this community who are grieving today.
