How wet do you get on Kali?

Since AK closes at an early time, we want to go to Epcot straight from there. But if we ride Kali as our last ride at AK will we be too soaked to go? How much protection do the ponchos give you? I'm trying to figure out if we'll have to go to our hotel and change first. What is your strategy?

Very, very soaked! Especially if the raft turns and you find yourself facing backwards and in the middle on that last drop. We always wear our ponchos, and they definitely help. Just be sure to get them tucked in around you. Have fun! :)

In January I had the poncho on, but the hood blew off my head and I was in the "going down backwards" seat. All the water went down the neck of the poncho. I was soaked, cold, miserable. Of course, we were going to EPCOT after AK closed and this was our last ride. I took my shorts off in the car and tried to dry them with the heater on the way to EPCOT. So then I had warm, wet shorts to put back on. Not a pleasant experience...

Hmmm..... how wet do you get in the shower? It's comparable. Except no towel and blow dryer when you finish.

I know that some have said that don't get too terribly wet on Kali but everytime we have been on it, we have all been soaked to the bone! We love Kali but always save it until the end of the day.

Enjoy!

By the way....don't wear white pants, and don't wear leopard print panties. Especially don't wear them together. This park fashion "don't" was seen at AK POST-KALI last Saturday. The poor woman was soaked, but old enough to know better!

Fashion "do's" and "don'ts" should be followed EVERYWHERE, regardless of whether or not you are on vacation. LOL!!!!!!

First time, I didn't get to wet. 2nd time, I was soaked. I could have worn my clothes into the shower soaked.

Very Wet. Bring change of socks & shoes or change into watersocks before your go on ride and wear a poncho. But just in case the water can find its way into the poncho if you are in the last seat of the last drop, bring a change of clothes.

Same thing with me. It all depends on where your seat is when it goes down the hill. If you're backwards...:umbrella: ...absolutely soaked. If you're facing forward.....:sunny: ...not so much.

My dh has gotten soaked every single time he has ridden Kali!!! I get a little damp, but nothing to complain about!! He's always in the wrong seat. I won't sit next to him anymore. If you do wear a poncho, be sure the hood stays on your head!!! Also, be sure to tuck it in all around you and keep your feet up on the foot bar thingie. We have actually seen people with ponchos on and their feet wrapped up in trash bags!!!

Last year in July, when it was 90+ degrees and 90% humidity, we roke Kali hoping to cool off and get wet. Neither happened, our family was very disappointed with the ride. We will try it again on our next trip to see if everyone else's comments are true. And I just don't understand why anyone would ride a ride that gets you wet, and then wear a poncho so you don't get wet, that's the idea of the ride, to get wet. Wearing a poncho just doesn't cut it with our family. Our theory is to ride Kali first thing in the morning, then have the rest of the day to dry out.JMO

Last time I rode it was though I had been completely submerged in a swimming pool. It is no exageration to say that you will get as wet as humanly possible.

How about the people who are there in January instead of July? Or people who don't want to walk around in wet clothes all day, but still want to experience the ride? Especially at Disney where just because a ride gets you wet that's far from the only appeal of ride.

Real Wet! In the summer it may be OK but as we get cooler it is harder to dry off.
