How to use AAA discount?

I Called AAA about the discount and they said I didnt have a room choice and booking through Disney would be cheaper. Can you call DIsney and then use the discount? Thanks

Yes, I've done it more than once. I don't understand that comment by AAA.

You can book directly with Disney using a room only AAA discount. If you want a package with the AAA discount then you have to go through AAA, that can't be done through Disney.

If you do this (through AAA), remember they "own" your reservation so if you need to make any changes you can't just call Disney and change something, you will have to go through your AAA agent.
