how to switch guides

Is there an official method for switching guides?

We were about to because we couldn't get a hold of ours (turns out she went on Vaca for a week and then shipped off on the Cruise for another week)

As for switching, I was told by several on here that if you call up and state that you are not happy with your guide (or whatever is the reason for you) and you would like a new guide that they would be willing to accomidate. I am glad in the end that we we didn't have to switch b/c I do like our guide a lot.

You can call the general DVC information number and ask for a supervisor. You can then ask for another guide. Do a search here, and you will find several threads where people identified their guides along with comments.

Be aware that DVD is reluctant to switch guides, so you may have to be firm. You're the buyer, and you really don't need any reason beyond "because I want to".

Just call and they'll switch you. I'd recommend Byron! He just got me BCV points!!!!

I have to reccomend Linda Streetman out at Celebration. She is very low presuure and got me 80 HH points in my use year when they were sold out. Always interested in what was goin gon with us. Our first guide, who was on the cruise when we bought, was not to my liking. I have been very pleased with Linda.

I have to agree with Granny about being firm. I went through this in 1999 when I asked to switch to another guide and had to talk to about 3 different people before they would allow me to switch. I felt like I was on trial for doing something horrible after they grilled me for my reasons but in the end I was happy and ended up getting points from my new guide so it was a win-win!! I just contacted my guide yesterday for more BCV points (OMG, am I an addict or what??).

What is the function of a "'guide"? Do you use your guide for add-ons only or can they help with other issues. (Such as not getting membership cards after purchasing a resale.)

December, but they're all gone

(and I'm an addict too. I bought into DVC in Feb. and this is my second add on through Disney... )
