We were beyond excited by the time we reached the Polynesian. We hadn't stayed there for over a year and back then it was only for 4 nights. It was late and I hoped we could still get a good room!
The check in area is empty and we can walk straight to a cute male CM. He was so nice and sweet. I explained we had 2 reservations over 6 days (2 different AP offers) and would really appreciate not having to switch rooms. No problem. I had asked to be in Tokelau and that's what we got, so we were pretty happy! We went to our room fast to get changed, because we hoped we could walk in 'Ohana for dinner.
Off to our room we go. It was almost the farthest one in the hallway but I didn't realize what that meant.. In the room, Grumpy immediately started unpacking her carryon, but I could hear music outside and wondered what it could be. It was too early for Wishes (only 9pm) and it didn't sound like Wishes anyway. I went to the balcony and almost busted into tears.
This is the view we had from our "garden view" room. And the music, that was the electric water pageant, which I had completly forgotten about. Talk about a welcome !!!!!
We stayed on the balcony and watched the pageant. Then Grumpy said something like "okay, that is cute, but I'm starving" so we left for the Grand Ceremonial House hoping someone would accept to feed us.
The CM minding the checkin desk at 'Ohana didn't laugh us off, but he did tell us that getting a table that night without a reservation was not going to happen. So we tried Kona instead. At almost 10pm it was nearly empty and they sat us right away at "our" table which is next to the coffee/sushi bar.
Grumpy & I shared an appetizer of Kona rolls from the sushi bar, then she got the coconut/almond chicken and I got the mahi. The food was great, and we were glad we got to go that night because we could cancel the reservation we had the next day. It would "free up" our evening and allow us to go see Fantasmic.
We were pretty beat after dinner, and although Magic Kingdom was still open and only a monorail ride away, we went back to our room, after a stop at Captain Cook's to buy refillable mugs (yes we bought them this time, following the rules like good little brainwashed DISers). I called for our luggage and took some pics while waiting for it. Watcha think of our room ?

I think it took us about 2mns to fall asleep.
And less than six hours later - at 5.30am - we were both wide awake.
Great ! We could take our time to get ready, unpack, and still make it to Hollywood Studios morning EMH. That was it. Today, I WOULD ride Tower of Terror. No matter what.
EXCEPT if I chicken out.
By 7am we were outside, enjoying the view from the staircase of Tokelau
Little Birdie walked with us all the way to the GCH.
The vegetation at the Poly is just unbelievable, especially in summer.
Here's the quiet pool that is right next to Tokelau, aka Grumpy's pool

Grumpy on HER bridge
We only had to wait a few minutes for a bus to Hollywood Studios, and there were maybe 20 of us in it. It was a very short ride and we soon joined the crowd ... yeah, cause the bus may have been empty but the park was another story.
Our plan for this morning : go straight to Toy Story Mania to ride, get FPs on the way out, and then go plummet to my death on ToT.
So we followed the herd on the way to TSM. Most of the people stopped to get FPs. We didn't, and so we pretty much walked on the ride. The line went so fast I barely had time to snap some pics!
Honestly ? I thought the ride was fun, but not really worth all the hype. Grumpy wasn't impressed either - but she was upset because her score was pitiful. Mine wasn't much better. We'll never be Elite snipers but then again we both have killer jobs already.
We still get FPs for seconds though. Then we go towards Tower of Terror. I'm all pumped up. I *will* ride this. It ain't that bad.
Oh, let's stop and look at the pretty hat.
I gather up what little courage I have and start walking to ToT, all the while wondering who'll get custody of my giant purple bear. Grumpy can get all my Coach and Dooneys. Jessi can get... hmm nevermind.
We can hear people screaming already. It's getting close. I'm already gasping for air.
"I hope there isn't too much of a wait ! If it's more than 20mns, forget it. It would make us late for Chef Mickey's."
Yeah right. It's 8.30 and our ADR is after 11.
Oh great. Wait time : 10mns.
I don't have a choice. If I chicken out now, Grumpy will never let me forget it. We get in line and start chatting with a lady & her son. He's seen my Hannah Montana pin and seems confused. He must be wondering what this old lady's watching HM for !
"He loves Hannah Montana but he doesn't quite have the lyrics down yet. He's always singing, "I get the best of both GIRLS!". I tried to tell him it's world and not girls, but my husband says, let him have the girls!"
This lady is so funny and it helps us relax. I'm barely terrified anymore. Her son has already been on the ride a dozen times, including one this morning. They got a pass for ToT because he was too short to ride R'n'R.
The line goes on so fast. So fast. We're now in the lobby, which is creepily adorable.
There's no turning back. I can't possibly chicken out in front of this little boy and live it down.
Grumpy & I hold each other's hands, and we step into the Library...
