How to make a extra 300 each month?

Really look at where your money goes - both you and hubby write down every expense - to the penny - for a month. Then look at it. Is hubby buying a drink or coffee everyday at work? - buy in bulk and bring from home. Are you paying for long distance on your land line while it is included in you wireless plan? Figure out where you can cut corners. Otherwise, get a part time job a couple of nights a week. You are not going to consistently make $300 doing rewards programs, but you can get a little extra. Sunshine Rewards has six surveys you can try everyday, which are more reliable then the "freebies" and "clicks." Also, you won't get endless calls from the companies you sign up for to get a quarter or so.

I have a friend that paints door hangers. (Wooden decorations to hang on the door.) She's only been doing it for a couple of months, and already makes $500 per week at it. If you're crafty and can find something like that people are into in your area, it could very well work out.

I second DH getting a second job either on his days off or for a few hours when he gets off in the morning or a few hours when he gets up or you getting a job after daycare but before hubby leaves for work.

What do you need the money for? Can you shop using coupons and sales to save a bit each month? It would help if we had a few more details.

Freelance. Let the parents know you can babysit in off hours. Does DH have a skill he can freelance at?

Honestly, I'd look at cutting your expenses by $300 per month. Get rid of cable, cell phones/extras on the plan, use coupons, don't eat out, ask about trimming insurance rates, etc. Any money you make at a job (whether at home or not) will be taxable, so you'll have to pull down closer to $500 per month to offset the taxes, which means you'll have to work longer/harder to get that $300. Any money you save, on the other hand, is tax free. So $300 saved is $300. If you have nothing to trim, then you'll have to look at some sort of income stream.

We needed an extra income and thats what we did.

If I can't make money, I save it. And the above list is a great way to start.

I agree with tutoring, if you have a skill or talent that you can share. My son's oboe teacher has essentially put herself through grad school tutoring high school students. This would also be good for you because the students could come to your home.

I clean offices twice a month, and take care of the hallways at an apartment building once a month.

I used to tutor, but can make in one night cleaning what I used to in 3. It's not glamorous, but I can work around my husband's work and if the kids are sick or something, I can move it to another night as long as it gets done. It has also lead to occas. work cleaning out rentals, and move-outs.

I think budget cutting is great, but many families like us are already about as tight as we can squeeze!! ( we don't have cable for example)

good luck!

Can you sew ? In my son's private school & a few other friends the school uniform pants fit waist wise but are always too long. I can put a button but not hem a pair of pants. We pay $5 a pop. Also my sister makes $100 a month just cleaning out microwaves at a local co. since their cleaning crew does not do microwaves. She goes 1x a week is done in 15 !

Also my niece sells Avon to make $ on the side. & most of the time I buy via the internet & if I spend $25 I get a free shipping special & she doesn't have to waste gas coming to my house.

I would check out the rewards board check out harvrygirl thread about 75 gift cards in six weeks. I know it has help a lot. I don't make a whole lot. Bet every but helps since down to my seasonal job and will be unemployed in September if don't find anything before than.

I would do rewards programs:
quickreward.net
simplegpt.com
mypoints.com.

I know get Wal-Mart cards for all three. I using these to pay for groceries right now.

Then mention that I got trip plan for Labor weekend. The trip is be total free. I have US tickets from mycokerewards. It pays working at baseball park. I have pick up powerade and coke caps for the stands.

I got Marriott cards from quickerewards.net 200.00 worth

Resturant gift cards from quickrewards.net and mypoints.com.

I am saving my swagbucks for Amazon gift cards use for Christmas. Yes Christmas present is be free this year.

Where did you find Universal tickets on coke rewards? I jsut went through the whole list and didn't see any

My DH delivers pizzas 3 nights a week. He only works Sun-Tues and nets about $1000 a month between his paycheck and tips. We use the extra money to go on vacation or buy stuff we wouldn't normally want to fork out cash for (new patio, new hottub, etc) because in our case, we make enough to live on, but want to have extras beyond living and saving for retirement! Most places like that are really flexible, he set his schedule that way so we can plan around it. Plus, it's a lot easier to work 3 long days in a row and then have 4 nights off. We even ended up buying an old reeeeeeeally gas efficient car ($1000) that he can rack up miles on instead of our regular cars. I never thought it would last, or make us any money, when he started, but he's entering into his third year! Oh, and around Christmas time, or when we have a big expense coming up, he can work more hours for a couple of weeks. :thumbsup2

When does your DH sleep?

I would have DH get a part time job. Either one that starts just after 7 am or one that ends before 11 pm. He can go from one job to the other.

Have you ever worked midnight shift? I work midnights and when I get home at 8 am Im asleep before 9. Wake up between 4 and 5 pm. So maybe I could pick up a 6-10 shift somewhere, but would never be able to see my family. Well could see them on my day off, but would be a grouch as on my days off, I still get home at 8 am that morning, just dont have to go out that night.

Aren't these all online shopping sites?

Well I'm a member of mypoints and have been for quite a few years, while it is a shopping site (you get points for purchases if you click thru from the mypoints site you can also get points simply for reading emails and clicking thru those. You don't have to buy but I find the rewards add up much faster if you do buy.

OP I don't think I'd tell DH to get another job but maybe you could discuss the possibility. Or if possible perhaps you could find a job in retail or as a server (or pizza delivery person) before he goes to work and after your day care kids are gone. I also like the idea of offering babysitting on a Saturday night.

I got them last year. When they put up on there site. That was only thing about the whole year was US tickets and I snap up. I now well my way to free vacation.

Is you're DH handy at all? I used to make $60 per call fixing exercise equipment for a warranty company. I got the ticket, and called the customer to set up the appointment on my own time. Usually took about 2 hours total, sometimes less. 5 jobs a months-6 to cover expenses and you're there. His schedule would be conducive to this. I found the job on craigslist. You don't have to be an expert, it was mostly just taking the part they sent and swapping it out. If you can fix your own bike you can do it.

I only stopped because I got another job that pays a lot better freelancing in my own field. The beauty of freelancing is you set your own schedule, and can turn down jobs if you are too busy. Those kinds of jobs have made all the difference in our budget over the last few years. The down side is it's irregular, and sometimes it's feast or famine, so we never budget that money, it's always extra and we put it towards whatever we are working on that month, usually debt reduction.

I understand where you are coming from we needed about $300-$400 more per month to make ends meet. I do work from home customer service for west teleservices and westate. I would check ratracerebellion.com. I also do mystery shopping for about 4 companies that paid for my daughters senior pictures this week. You won't get rich but you can pull in about $60 extra a week with mystery shopping. Good Luck!:yay:

I would never ask someone who works nights to get another job. I would set to cutting all that is no necessary. Really. Cable, spare telephone services, meals out, with the exception of occassional fate nights, with that work schedule!

I agree that I would start with cutting things but I might ask someone with that work schedule about getting another job, it depends on what the money was for, how long term it was, etc.

How about being one of those people at Costco or Sam's Club that hands out the samples on the weekends or evenings? That way you can still do your daycare job and maybe your hubby can watch the kids on Sat/Sun while you work for a few hours.

One time while I was shopping and trying the samples I struck up a conversation with the sample giver. She said it was a great job and they were pretty flexible with her schedule. She loved the job and the extra money.

The dont go till store closing .. at least around here. They finish up by 5pm.

I also agree with doing the rewards sites. I have made almost $500 from simplegtp

I do exactly the same thing for a condo assoc. Works out great!!

I've heard delivering newspapers pays good for a few hour commitment, but it's every day.
