How to link MMW tickets with scratch off ids

May be a dumb question but....

I ordered Magic My Way tickets from Tickets at Work for a trip in March. The tickets were delivered in the form of a green plastic card. So far, so good. I went on to MDE to link the tickets...this type of ticket should have an id of 12 characters. It has 8 characters, and the last 4 are under a scratch off bar. :scared: Scared to death to scratch it off and link, lest I void the card by altering it.....has anyone else run into this problem?

Sent a note to Disney Tickets over a week ago, but they're too busy to send me anything but form emails back saying they'd get to me eventually. :confused3

You do not have live tickets, you have exchange cards. They must be taken to a Park ticket or Guest Relations window to be exchange for actual tickets.

So does that preclude us from linking the tickets to our reservation in MDE? DS and his girlfriend will be using these tickets and want the 60 day window to make Fastpass + reservations.

Second question - DH and I are at F&W next week. Could we do as you suggest, do the exchange, but not 'validate' the tickets as they are for next March's visit? Is it 14 days from the first time they are used?

Thanks for the help.

Unless you are selected for MyMagic+ testing, there is no current benefit to linking admission to MDE. Once you are eligible for MyMagic+, scratch off the bar to uncover the entire number and link the tickets to MDE.

Linking tickets to MDE will not activate them.

Thank you Michael. But now I'm confused. Can I link in MDE the 12 digit id on my green exchange card, as you advise, or do I need to exchange for a live ticket at Guest Relations and then link? Is the nbr different?

You can link the voucher in order to make FP+ selections. When you do the actual exchange, you would then need to link the real AP. The FP+ selections are tied to individuals so exchanging the voucher for the real AP should have no impact on those selections.

and to be clear- the system is a buggy mess right now- so waiting is probably better than not at the moment.

Anybody ever figure this out? Im having the same problem and im wondering if i should scratch off the last 4 digits.

Yes, happy to report it worked just fine. I scratched off the last 4 digits for the 2 tickets I had, and was able to link them on MDE. This allowed us to make Fastpass+ reservations. When we took the trip in March, the tickets had been loaded onto the magic bands with no issues. And we were able to get into the parks with no issues. I would bring the scratch cards with you as backup when you go, just in case there is a problem, but you should never need to use them.
