How To Keep A Phone Dry?

use i ziplock but only when you are on the rides...the phone will get to hot in your pocket all day in a bag

thats what i was thinking, maybe moisture would build up in the bag if i kept it in there all day

A little tip on wet phones/electronics:

Last week my Samsung Eternity (completely touchscreen) took a dive into a sink of dishwater. I got it out as quick as I could, but it was still soaked. I got on the internet to see what to do:

1.Immediately remove the battery and SIM card if it has one-you have to cut the power out to help prevent it from short circuiting.

2.Shake the phone to get any excess water out.

3.Next cover your phone in dry/uncooked rice(I used Minute Rice) and allow it to sit 12-24 hours. The rice soaks up moisture.

Don't try to use a hairdryer on hot or cold settings-hot can melt the components and any air can just push the water further into the phone.

I was skeptical but this really worked.

The screen on my phone was completely water logged and nothing on it worked, (I didn't know about removing the battery/shutting it off at first so I was testing it to see if it worked), and 24 hours later it was good as new. The rice is dusty so be sure to blow the dust off it before putting the battery back in. I also left the back cover off while it was in the rice.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure of course, but if you find yourself with a very wet phone/electronic device this might help.

Not that I recommend this, but my neighbor had his iPhone go through the washing machine and everything except the microphone and speaker kept working.

I word of warning to go along with the Otterbox recommendation. The Otterbox Brand iPhone cases are not waterproof nor is the PDA case that will show up if you search for iPhone cases. If you want it to be "waterproof" you need to find the appropriate sized traditional "Otterbox" for your phone. They won't allow your phone to work while inside but they will keep it dry.

If you are a Verizon customer, get a Casio G'zone Boulder, Rock or Brigade. Not quite the snazziness of an Iphone but it is completely waterproof to 3 feet for 30 minutes (some sort of military spec). Also drop proof from something like 6 feet.

One of my cousins was showing off her Chocolate Touch at a family reunion, we were comparing features. I asked her if hers could do this....and dropped it in a glass of water on the table. Her eyes got so big!:rotfl2:
Then I threw it across the patio onto the concrete (not a scratch, has rubber edges) and it keeps on ticking!

If you had to have a phone you can't break and didn't have to worry about on water rides, this would be my choice, just not 'fancy' like an Iphone. The Brigade is a new model with a full keyboard for that thing you young'uns call 'texting.'

I have one! lol... with a 3 year old, I need something 'swimmable.' It's definitely not snazzy but it's a lot more durable than most other phones.

Ziplock, but we don't get that wet on the rides. Kali we stick the stuff in the middle thing and on Splash I've never gotten wet other than a splash on the head/face and my rear from sitting in a wet seat. I've rode it dozens of times I just don't see how people get so soaked on there. I keep my water resistent camera out the whole time and don't bother to take my phone out of my pocket, never had an issue with either on Splash.
