How to get to parks

DBF and I are staying at the Swan and we will have a rental car. We are going to go to MK 1 day and AK 1 day. Would you suggest we drive to the parks or take Disney transportation?

We are planning on going to the parks right away in the morning. How early should we leave with either option and how long will it take to get there?


Long story short - we are going to Florida for a conference DBF is going to for work so we are squeezing in a couple days at WDW.

For AK, I'd take the rental car. Budget maybe 15-20 minutes from the Swan to the AK front gate.

For MK, I'd ride the bus. The reason is that the bus will take you right to the front gate of MK. If you drove your car, you'd have to a) park, then b) ride the tram to the TTC, then c) ride the monorail or ferry to the front gate of MK. The bus is much simpler, and quicker, even if you have to wait 10 minutes or so for it to pick you up at the Swan.
