How to get to Florida Mall-no car.

That's because the Lynx website assumes you are unable to WALK. It is a 20-30 minute bus ride plus a 10 minute very nice walk. :headache:

As do the 8 and 42 buses which you can connect to for FREE from DTD.

To save money you could even take the bus to Wet 'n' Wild and take cab from there (it'll cost you less than $6).

Oh Kath, here you are! I spent a good hours searching last night and knew you had all the info from having done it before, but do you think I could remember the digit sequence in your user name?! :rolleyes1

Universal is far more of a pain to get to on the Lynx buses. It also scares people off because they fear walking. But the walking from Wet 'n' Wild is very nice, takes about 10 minutes and you walk past two lakes. We saw several terrapin-type creatures, countless fish etc. It's very pleasant.

I wish they did a bus from Universal to Disney but I guess both parties would be pretty against that :rotfl: Why they don't run a tourist bus from Universal up and down I-Drive, though, I don't know. :confused3 Sea World do.

Sorry, what is 'TTC', please?

Thank you :goodvibes

It's the Transportation and Ticketing Center. It's where the two monorails meet at the same station - one to Magic Kingdom and 3 hotels; the other to Epcot. It's also where you can catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom, buses to practically everywhere on Disney property, park your car for the Magic Kingdom and catch the Lynx 50 and Lynx 111 buses.

it is a pain but if u on a tight budget it is useful, you can easily get from disney for park opening, 111 to florida mall then 37 from same stop to universal. they run from very early in the morning

It's easier to take the 50 to Sea World, change to the 8, get off at the intersection between I-Drive and Universal Blvd (basically at Wet 'n' Wild) then do a short 10-minute walk. That will take you about 40 minutes. If you don't want to walk, you could get a cab from Wet 'n' Wild (costs $5 with a tip) and it would take you just over 30 minutes.

The 111/37 route will take you nearer 90 minutes.

Sorry to be stupid but coming back from Florida Mall, do you get the bus where you get dropped off or do you have to cross the road to get it in the opposite direction from the way you came ?

You get on at the same stop. There's a large bus stop area in the parking lot. You just need to that you're on the right bus number going in the right direction - easy to see as it's in big yellow lights all over the front, back and sides of the bus. If all else fails, ask the driver.

I would love to see a thread on Lynx. So many people think you cannot survive in Orlando without Mears or a hire car.

We are big fans of the system, in 13 years we have never hired a car!!

Us too! We have never tried the 111 service and as we'll be staying at OKW and DD will be 17 seems like a must do. Dunno what we'll do with DH though that day.

There are bars at the FL mall ;)
