How to Get Rid of Wart - Permanently

DS had one that wouldn't freeze off, and I knew he would pick the crap out of duct tape. I coated it with clear nail polish to cut off the oxygen supply and just reapplied every morning. Worked like a charm.

Its a Southern term I guess and it kind of like black magic for lack of a better term. The 'gift' is generally passed from generation to generation and from opposite sex if I am not mistaken. A friend of my mom's father did this. Here is what happened (like I said DH thinks I am absolutely off my rocker!)

I was in high school and had big warts on my knuckle, knee, and chin for years and a recent one on my stomach. Dr's would freeze them and they would come back. I finally went to this man and he spit on a penny, mumble something, and rubbed the penny on my warts- I was too embarrassed to show him the one on my stomach. He prayed over me and told me not to think about the warts or look at them for a week. He told me if I truly believed that Jesus Christ was my Lord and Savior that they would go way. I can't explain it but they wern't there the next time I thought about them even the one I didn't show him. And like I said, I have no scars.

I know there are people that think I am making this up but it happened it me. I wouldn't have believed it otherwise.

My mom talks about going to the "treater" (I wish I could provide the French pronouciation that she uses for this) when she was young. She swore that it always worked, but it was very powerful gris gris. You had to really believe in it, but if you did, it worked.

When I was 10, I had 3 warts on the palm side of my hand. I took my dad's razor, removed the blade and sliced them off. There were black thread things in the wart that I removed with tweezers. I've never had another wart and I'm 50.

Reading that made me cringe so bad, my eyeballs hurt.

A combo of Duct Tape and Compound W worked for me for warts on my toe. I would shower and try to soak it really clean and then put on the Compound W and duct tape over it. I have to be honest, it hurt like HECK and I don't know why because alone I never found Compound W to be very painful. I did this for about a week then I left it alone. Over the next month or 2, doing nothing else to it, the wart I had had for something like 15 yrs shrunk up and disappeared. The weird thing was, I had another wart on that same foot but I didn't touch it with treatment. I figured I would wait to see how well the duct tape worked first. But it shrunk up and disappeared with the toe ones. So that was some powerful duct tape!! :D

Are you 100% sure it's a wart? I had on my palm what we thought was a wart and tried the wart remedies, but it turned out it wasn't. It's called a Pyogenic Granuloma (google if you dare) and I had to have a plastic surgeon that specializes in hand surgery remove it!

I Googled. It's not that. It's definitely a wart. It's hard and crusty. I pick at it all the time. I've got duct tape on it but now that I'm the front person at a law firm...I'm getting some disapproving looks. ;)

My Dh swears by Vitiman (SP?) E. I don't know if it works, but we are using it on DDs thumb right now.

I've never heard the duct tape thing. I'm going to try all of this stuff. It's embarrassing because it's on my hand for all to see.

How long does the duct tape take?

I also had one on my hand. Not sure if you will like my solution but when i gave birth it went away  like overnight. It's very crazy really since I had it for years and nothing every worked to get rid of it permanently. But it never came back. So having a baby must rid your body of viruses or something :confused3 .

Well, I've had this stupid wart for years. I've given birth since it's been there. It's still there. :guilty:

My husband swears that black tape (electrical tape) cures all wounds! :lmao:

I forgot who told me this, but somebody said that covering it in black tape actually works. Not sure if it's an wives tale or not, but it's worth a shot. Good luck!

disclaimer: I am not a medical professional. Please see your pcp if the problem persists.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Duct Tape!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I got a planter wart on my foot after a lovely stay at a Disney resort--nice souvenir. Had the thing for over 2 years and finally asked my doctor to look at it when I had a physical. He told me this type of wart was caused by a virus and until the body decides to attack it, the wart won't fully go away. He said that by irritating the wart and the skin around it, the body can trigger itself to produce the things (antibodies?) to attack the virus. Then he prescribed a strong wart remover and duct tape. Yes, duct tape.

Well, months later that didn't work. I ended up having to go every week for 2 months and having the thing frozen and bathed in acid. It hurt. It also was considered "surgery" and cost my insurance company several thousand dollars. After the last treatment, I was fed up with the pain and decided to live with the stupid thing on my foot. After about a month, my body somehow rejected the wart and fought the virus. It just sort of disappeared.

my vote is one visit to the Dermotologist and be done with it:)

I wrote some of these suggestions down. My daughter has one on her foot and one on her finger. I did bring her into the Dr. and they froze them. Of course, just one time didn't work. Dr. said that might happen. Problem is....with our insurance I have to pay 100% until we reach our deductible. That 1 visit was $200.00 - that was just for the freezing - not the Dr. herself!!!!:scared1: No way are we going back. So.....I will try a few of these tips.

A friend at work did mention using vitamin E (gel) and cutting it open and spreading the liquid on the wart. Didn't seem to work. However...my daughter is not good about doing this on a regular basis (and I am not good at remember either!)

I also know that it can take months for them to go away.

I cut mine off too with a razor. I don't really recommend it, because it really hurt. But it's gone for good. I had tried those over the counter things numerous times, and duct tape, but neither worked.

I was at my wit's end!

ETA: It was on the top of my pinky, incase anyone was wondering where I was playing doctor. ;)

I take immunosuppressant drugs for my rheumatoid arthritis. That's probably why mine won't go away.

I cut mine off too and they finally went away! I used fingernail clippers though, not a razor! My mom had tried to freeze them off with the stuff they use at doctor's offices and it didn't help. Then I resorted to the cutting them off!

My son has had warts on his feet and now on his hands. I did NOT want to have them frozen off as I had them done when I was younger and it hurt horribly. I searched the internet to look for something that might help and I found the best stuff. I used it on his feet and they haven't ever come back. We are now in the process of using it on his hands and they are almost all gone in 2 weeks. It's called heal warts and you can see the product here.....

Hope you can figure something out that works.

My brother had lots of warts on his hands when he was a kid. A man at church gave him a penny and said he was buying his warts. He said everytime you look at them, remember that they are not yours anymore, they are mine. They went away in like two weeks, never to return. (cue creepy music)
Me, I go with duct tape. (I like the clear polish thing too.)

Warts are caused by a virus. I believe that duct tape works b/c it "suffocates" it. In any case, I was tired of having duct tape on my hand and having people ask why it was there so I went another route. I used Grapefruit seed extract(it's a strong antibacterial/antifungal). I just applied it once or twice a day for a week and the wart went away. You can find GSE at healthfood stores usually. It's also good for any type of yeast infection/candida overgrowth.
