How to Get Rid of Wart - Permanently

OK, derms in our area won't even see you if you haven't tried the duct tape method first!!!

I work for a group of peds and we always try this first. Usually works, occasionally doesn't.

I'm sitting right here at the instructions, so here goes...

Wart Removal with Occlusal HP:
Once a day whenever convenient for you, do the following:
1) Remove the tape applied the day before.
2) Soak the area in water as warm as possible for 5 minutes.
3) Dry the area with a paper towel.
4) Using a round toothpick, dip into the occlusal HP and poke into each wart just below the surface. Do not make the wart bleed or cause pain but poke just below the surface.
5) Allow the medicine to dry for 5 minutes.
6) Cover with waterproof adhesive tape. Different brands stick differently so you may have to try a few to find the best one for you.
7) Leave the tape on 24 hours (until the time you are to treat the warts the next day - you should wash, shower, etc. without removing the tape). The only time you should see the wart is when you are doing the treatment.

Hope this helps!!!!

I had one burned off at the dr's office when I was 6. Still have a nice scar on my hand from that.

The next summer, one went away while taking swimming lessons. We heard the pool chlorine is what does it. No scar.

No more warts after that.

That is so cool. Guess it wouldn't work for me as I don't believe what the guy told you to believe, but it's still really cool!

Dangit! I don't have a yard.

Do you have the names of the homeopathics the derm used????

no he wouldn't tell me anything except it had beetle guts:laughing: believe me I tried to buy it off him.

My nana used to say if you rubbed a wart with an apple slice and then buried the apple in the yard the wart will go away. I think it had to be a full moon when you buried the apple, now that I think of it. My aunt says it worked when Nana did it to her. :confused3

I had a wart on my finger, but I had it frozen off at the dermatologist and that was the end of it.

You're in luck. Tonight is a full moon!!! :rotfl:

My daughter has like 16 of these on her hands! The derm says it's a virus and has to run it's course. I work with Family Med docs, and her doc says the same thing. I did try the duct tape, but it is not too fun for someone who is 10 to walk around like that. She calls herself 'wart girl' :( I will try some of these at night deals and see how that works......

I had 3 on my hands years ago. I had them for years. My dad kept yelling at me to leave them alone. But, I didn't listen and kept cutting them off. Finally, after years, I decided to listen to dear old dad, and guess what.....they went away! I totally ignored them. It was hard, but they went away!

Well, I have to replace the duct tape every time I wash my hands. (Which is a lot - I'm a fanatic about it) Its right by my finger joint and it comes off a lot. I keep putting on a fresh piece. I hope that doesn't keep it from working. :guilty:

I had my son in the dermatologist's office over the summer to have a couple of warts frozen. She explained that warts are caused by a virus and freezing it stimulates your own immune system to fight it. Same idea with the duct tape; the occlusion kicks up your immune system. She recomended salycilic acid pads in a stronger formulation than that found in corn pads. You have to ask the pharmacist for them.

I used the duct tape method and it worked great. It took about 2 weeks but it has never grown back and this was years ago. What I did was wash the wart in hot water and scrubbed the wart using a pumice stone. I would thoroughly dry the wart and then put clear nail polish on the wart and then cover with duct tape. I would do this once a day. I never had a problem with the duct tape coming off because I would wrap it around my finger a few times.

My wart is just barely above my knuckle on the side of my first finger ( the side facing my thumb). It's too low to wrap the tape around my finger so I have to tape across my knuckles and palm. My palm area is the place where it keeps coming off. Once that side unsticks, I have to replace the tape.

Well, I've had this stupid wart for years. I've given birth since it's been there. It's still there. :guilty:

Darn, I swear it worked for me :goodvibes . Well hopefully the duct tape will work. Have you tried wart away? It used to omce with the little flesh colored bandages that conceal the wart. It didn't work for me but maybe it works for some.

My dad taught me this trick, and I have used it on my kid's regular and plantar warts. ( No, no epidemic, just 4 warts.)

Plain aspirin, like Bayer. If it is coated, rinse the coating off.
Wet the aspirin, put it on wart, add a few more drops of water to make sure it is damp. (the aspirin may start to crumble, that's ok)
Cover with a band-aid. Change daily, or more if needed.

This takes an average of 4 days.
My DD9 had a plantar wart on her toe, huge ugly thing. On day 3 her toe looked like it had been in water for days (really pruny). So I pressed on the area around the wart, and..this is so gross.. the whole thing roots and all just popped out, kind of like a giant black head. There was a hole (kind of) where the wart was, but no blood, and it healed right up and never hurt her.

Good luck!

that is fascinatingly disgusting. wish i was there to see it.

My great grandmother was known as a "healer" woman in Texas and was known to to cure warts by whispering something over them? or in the person's ear. Similiar to having them "talked off". Sounds so weird, but I keep hearing more about it. All the stories are out of the South!

I just read that rubbing the wart with lemon essential oil infused Q-tip works too. I haven't tried it personally, but I have a few I need to work on!

That would be a tough spot to use duct tape, wish I could give you better advice. :goodvibes

There are healers in our area. The men are traiteurs the women traiteuse. My grandfather had an awful case of shingles even had to go to the hospital. Nothing worked until he went to the traiteurs. He went from awful pain to feeling great in 2 days. Rather than talking them off, the traiteur(euse) prays.

Ok, I am helping my DD out with this and putting vinegar on a cotton ball and wrapping a band-aid around the wart every night. She wears the band-aid all day. Well, the warts have turned black, which I hear is what they do when they are 'dying off'. Should I keep this up until they are gone, or should I give them a couple of days without vinegar? (She is so excited they turned black) HELP PLEASE!!!
