How to get from Beaches and Cream to Pop at night

I'm thinking of heading over to Beaches and Cream after Fantasmic, but will need to get back to Pop afterwards. Is my best bet to walk over to the Studios and grab a bus there? If the Studios close at 8pm that night, will there still be buses running from there to Pop at say 10:30pm?

10:30 might be pushing it---I vaguely recall "one hour before, two hours after." I would be inclined to take a cab.

That's what I was afraid of.

Would it work if I parked (I have a car rented but wasn't planning on using it that day) over at DHS, do a couple rides there, walk over to Epcot and then head back to the DHS lot after Beaches and Cream? Do the lots close for exiting at night?

It might take a while but you could take the bus to Downtown Disney from the Beach Club and then grab the bus for POP there.

Shudder.... I've taken the bus between Beach Club and DTD before. I may not get to Pop until the next morning with the length of that bus trip.

I would just take a cab POP is right down the road and I would guess the cab ride would cost you about $10 well worth the walking and time saved.:rolleyes1

Thanks so much. Hadn't even though of taking a cab. Where's the best place to catch a cab nearby? Out front of Beach Club? I've stayed there before but never had to take a cab.

In front of beach club would be fine. I've caught a cab there---you may have to ask bell services to call one for you.

You could also drive to DHS and either walk to BC and back, or drive to BC and then drive home. The exit of the lot wouldn't close, I don't think---they're not gated.

The Boardwalk driveway/valet is closest to Pop. From Beaches and Cream, I would make the leisurely stroll around to the Boardwalk. They ALWAYS have cab's waiting right there at the valet stand. I think I recall measuring it on google earth once, and it was less than two miles from there to POP. You could walk it if they had sidewalks! Catching a cab from the beach Club will cost a bit more

Why not just drive to the BC, park there, walk/ride boat to DHS, walk/ride boat back to B&C, then drive back to POP?

Oh, I don't know...maybe because you aren't supposed to park at a resort and then go to a park??? There is signage that says 'parking for park access not permitted'..that would seem to apply here.
I have taken a cab from YC to POP...it was $10 which also included a tip. It is only about a 7-8 min ride...very close. I wouldn't even bother walking over to BW. You could have been at POP in the time it takes you to walk over there and get a cab.

Wow, nothing like a little moderator-induced sarcasm. The thing is, you can drive to a hotel to visit a restaurant, so it's not like you're using the BC parking lot just for free transportation to DHS. This way, you're visiting the park first and then B&C afterward. And the BC parking lot is never more than half full every time I'm there even during holidays, so I seroiusly doubt it would make a difference.

Doesn't matter whether it's crowded or not. The signage states that parking is not provided for park access...it matters not if you eat at that resort first and then head to a park. That would constitute parking at the resort for park access. Parking at a resort in order to eat or shop is fine as far as Disney is concerned. Will they bother you if you park at BC and then head to a park? Probably not....but that's not what their signage says.
Nothing sarcastic about my remark at all. The DIS boards are supposed to uphold Disney's rules. Do people park at the resorts for park access? Sure they do. But, Disney has stated how they feel about it....therefore we are 'supposed' to uphold their statements.

As someone who stays at the beach club every trip...The signs say at the self park...Not for THEMEPARK access. If you want to cough up the $14 to valet it and then go to a themepark...feel free. But I get ticked off when I am staying there and have to pay for valet, because the self parking is FULL for the very reasons you mentioned....and yes I have had to pay for parking at my own resort.

I might be missing something but why don't you just park at DHS and when you are ready to leave just drive to BC. It would save you so much time and effort.

That's what I was afraid of ... Do the lots close for exiting at night?
Now that you added you will have a car, no, the lots do not close their exits. No problem walking from the Studios to Beach Club and back, or driving from the Studios to Beach Club etc.

(copied from another post for the beneifit of those eavesdropping)

Ask for reimbursement at the front desk. Disney advertises resort guests free parking and therefor has to honor that.

That's a great idea, actually. It is free parking at the parks if you're a resort guest, and DHS is easy in terms of parking and getting in/out. The last trip I stayed at the BC, we drove to DHS just because we couldn't walk (due to one member in our group) and those boats are full of god awful slowness!

BTW - for those who don't like when people like me park at other hotels, next time I'll balance it out by using my refillable mug from my previous trip. That way, everybody wins. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

(I've never actually done the reuse-the-mug-from-last-time thing, so nobody freak out here! ;))

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. My original intent was to try to get around the parks using Disney transportation as much as possible, but from what I've read here so far it sounds like it's probably best to take the car along with me on this day.

Plan will probably be:
- Drive from Pop to DHS (pick up birthday card, upgrade to hopper)
- morning at DHS
- walk to Epcot for the afternoon
- walk to B&C after Illuminations
- walk back over to DHS and pick up car to drive back to Pop.

Make sense?
