I just got back from WDW and had a great time. I did notice a trend on where these dream fastpasses were given out. It would take a sacrifice and may not be guaranteed but it worked more than once when I was there. Here is the trick.

When you go to a park for rope drop say Epcot for example, where does everyone go. In Epcot most people go to Soarin'. Where does almost nobody go for their first ride in the park, thats right Living with the Land. If you sacrifice rushing to get onto the best rides in the park you may be rewarded with a dream fastpass. Just think of the least crowded ride when the park opens and go there. Hope this still works for everyone. :thumbsup2

but if it doesn't, they have every right to yell at you for ruining their magic.

We couldn't really find a method to their madness. One morning at MGM, the first couple of groups on RnR got them. Another day at Epcot, we went to Imagination after about an hour after rope drop and got them as we entered the pavillion.

We got ours at AK in Dinosaur.....not exactly one of the least attended attractions ;)

That's really intresting. Because I have a 3 yr. old, we don't usually go to the big attractions first, so wish me luck!

We got ours as we were exiting the rafts from Tom Sawyer Island at the Magic Kingdom. They were counting off people as we were exiting and asked us to wait in a small area to to the side. Then he asked if we ever dreamed of going to Disney and not waiting in lines -- it was wonderful because the park was packed that day.

I got mine at Conservation Station at AK. I think there's something to the theory that they give them away at the less popular rides.

We didn't recieve them, but saw 4 cars of Expedition Everest receive them shortly after the park opened. I was with the baby, and my family was in line. I was so hoping they were in those groups. A few cars also got the limited edition lanyard and pins. All in all, about 6 - 8 cars got a Dream prize. Alas, my family were about 15 minutes behind all the prize giving.

Funny you should mention it cause that is exactly what we did (without realizing it). We got our FP's for Soarin then hit The Land boat ride. We just missed one boat and got the next one. The one we were on just happened to be the boat that got the Dream FP's! Of course, prior to us receiving them, I had already forgotten about the YOAMD celebration

We got Dream Fastpasses this trip as well. We had a group of 7 and we were at Epcot. One of us ran to Soarin' to get Fastpasses while the other 6 of us went on Mission Space. When we came out, the last of our group was talking to a YOAMD Cast Member. He asked us what we'd be doing next, our answer was Test Track. He gave us Mission Space fastpasses, took us over to Test Track, gave us Test Track fastpasses, then brought us through the VIP TT section right on the ride. We then went to Innoventions, participated in a show/game about plastics and then all won Dream Fastpasses! We gave away all the 'regular' fastpasses he gave us to other people on line, so everyone was happy.

what exactly is a dream fastpass?

It's like the fast passes (FP) only better. With a regular FP you can only hold one at a time. The machines will not let you get another one until after the window of the one you are holding passes.

With a dream FP, that limitation is gone. A dream FP is a card with 3 tabs on each side for all rides that require a FP (one tab for each ride). You can use it anytime during the park hours and can only be used on the day you received it. It's part of the Year of A Million Dreams celebration and is given out at the discretion of the CMs.

I don't know....a family in front of us got them, as we exited Kilimanjaro Safaris. :confused3 There's probably some very convoluted computer program that would boggle the mind!

We got ours at MGM ("One Man's Dream"). The CM was inside the doorway as we walked in, they handed those to us, no one else was around at that time! We never used them that day because everything was a "walk-on".

A fellow NFFC Minnesota chapter person got theirs while in the briefing room at Test Track.

Just got back first day got them at MK tom sawyers island. second day AK at primevile whirl. third day nothin, fourth day nothin, fifth nothin. We consider ourselves very lucky. :)

There is no strategy what so ever involved, it is all run my computer. Not even the YOAMD team knows when they will be given out.

Here is what happened to us. 11-13-06 - First ride on our trip in AK- My whole family (DH, DS, DD & myself - Disney Mom, rode EE- A little scary for mom. We all got off really excited! We looked at the picture and laughed at my DD because she was closing her eyes in the picture! Well, DS makes fun of her. They decide to ride it again, No long lines! I decide that I am going to take a picture and sit this one out. They finish the ride and 2 CM's come up after the ride is over. They are clapping and said, "THIS IS YOUR LUCKY DAY!" - "You all get Magic Dream Fastpasses for the Day in Animal Kingdom!" Everyone on the ride started to CHEER! They then pass out lanyards that have a Blue Animal Kingdom Dream Fastpass- It has 6 tabs that can be removed.
They say - Dinosaur Ride, Kilimanjaro Safair, Kali River Rapids, It's Tough to be a Bug, Primeval Whirl, and Expedition Everst. Each person can use them one time in the park. My son says to the CM - My mom is outside taking a picture, can she have one too? The CM says, sorry, only people on this ride! SO, I was happy for them- but, I didn't get one! They DO split up the families. NOW, It was nice because there weren't long lines at all that day. We walked onto most rides, so it really wasn't a big deal. My family LOVED feeling so special! Disney is the best!

On the way out of the park we say a mom and her daughter, we gave them 2 of our passes, because we had only used 2 tabs! We made them feel special too!
