How to get a dream fastpass

It looks like there's no real way to tell where and when you might be lucky enough to get them. I know I'm only a "newbie" and don't really know much about Disney yet, BUT.. I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you go out of your way to try and get a DreamPass. I personally will just go with our touring plan, and if we are lucky enough to get them during our stay, it will be awesome, if not, at least I didnt miss out on anything on purpose.

Last week, we got ours on Triceratop Spin in AK just after Rope Drop. Half the group got them. The other half who had rushed to EE didn't.

We ended up not using them -- just used regular fast passes and saved the dream passes as a neat souvenir.

We got ours outside of Peter Pan, a very busy ride. Remember, this is a promotional gig for Disney. Publicity is a major component.

BTW, our Fastpass had *4* tabs on each side and one tab at the bottom. Maybe that's the MK Fastpass.

since MK has more FP attractions than AK, it stands to reason that the MK dream fastpass has more tabs than the AK one.

We got our Dream Fast Passes after riding Expedition Everest. We went straight to that ride after rope drop. We were not exactly one of the first riders. We were a party of eight people. My DH stayed behind with my DS because he was not tall enough to ride. Upon entering the unloading dock the whole Dream Team was standing there. They gave the whole train the Dream Fast Passes. I explained to the CM that my DH was outside with DS and she said "we like families to stay together. I'll give them each one as well". So she walked out with us and they shared in the excitement too.

The CM was very nice and very chatty. I asked her about The Dream Team and how it works. She told me that they do not know where they are going until fifteen minutes before. There was about six members of the Dream Team present for our encounter. What a great job to be putting smiles on people's facing all day long. :thumbsup2

We got ours as we were exiting the rafts from Tom Sawyer Island at the Magic Kingdom. They were counting off people as we were exiting and asked us to wait in a small area to to the side. Then he asked if we ever dreamed of going to Disney and not waiting in lines -- it was wonderful because the park was packed that day.

Me too!!! Did you get it on December 1? They were filming the Christmas parade and it was busy. My dd begged to do Tom Sawyer Island and we gave in, when we got off :cheer2: Dream Fastpasses!!!

We also did get them at tricera top spin in AK. A few days later they were giving them out at the same place and we got in line for the ride but the family in front of us was the last to get them.

We got them twice so we felt it was alot of pixie dust for our trip!!!!

We also got dream fastpasses getting off the raft at Tom Sawyer's island. They took us off to the side and gave a whole group of us the passes. I don't know if it was the entire group or not because we were one of the first people to exit the raft.
Our trip was from Dec 3rd to the 8th. I think it was on the 5th of December.

We had been there for a couple of hours and ended up using the ThunderMountain and Jungle Cruise passes. When we were leaving (about 1pm) we handed the fast passes off to a couple that was walking near Swiss Family Treehouse.

I felt special all day because of this - great celebration idea.

Am I the only one that thinks this looks an awful-lot like a way for Disney to test market a new Super Fast Pass, that will be for sale in future years, and be yet another source of revenue for Disney's crack team of financial-i :teacher: magineers

DW and I did not get dream fastpasses, but something wierd did happen to us. I am not going to mention the ride or the park, but it is a big one. DW and i got our fast pass. We showed it to the first guy who let us in the fast pass line. We got to the 2nd guy (the one who collects the tickets) and I must have said something to him to make his day. He told me to pust the fats passes back in my pocket as he would never collect them. He them told me to ride the ride as much as I wanted. So, DW and I went about 7-8 times in a row without any wait. Now I know that some people are going to think this is cool and others are going to think I was cheating other people waiting in line, but hey ... maybe I was the only one who said good morning to him and asked him how he was amidst a very busy morning.

They are very random so there is no strategy to how/when they are awarded. It may have happened that that location was drawn a few times in a row, etc.

On Dec 10, DH & DD6 got dream passes coming off of Star Tours at @ 945am. I was a little disappointed though. Since, DS4 & I didn't go on the ride, we of course didn't get the passes. With only half of our party having passes, they weren't very useful. DS & I still had to get our own fast passes and wait for the window to open up -- so in the end, they were just like regular fast passes for us.

While we were at MGM our first day of our trip, my son and his girlfriend came back from a snack trip wearing fast passes...someone had given them to them (not a cast member) I was holding them when a castmember came up and congratulated me on them.....I noticed her name tag and she was from my area in OHio...we got to talking and I noticed her carrying one of those trash picker-uppers...I asked if she was working her way up at Disney and she said, oh no, I am one of the dream team, of course I asked for a dream and she said she was out...LOL

Anyway I noticed a lot of cast members with those trash picker-uppers...so my guess is they are part of the dream team, so watch out for them!

I love those castmember name tags with their home towns on them.....we saw many from our area and talked with them.
We got chosen to be the First family at America in Epcot because one of the cast members was good friends with one of the Cincinnati Bengal players (my husband was wearing his Bengal hat).

We got ours first thing in the morning at RnR. We weren't able to use them, however, as there were no lines anywhere and we walked right on every attraction. So, some of the excitement was lost......we won a prize we couldn't use. Oh well, it makes a nice souvenir.

Has this been going on all year? I was in Disney this June and didnt come upon any! I guess its the luck of the draw. We were there eight days though. Oh well, only four days until my next trip!
