How to book more than 1 room

I am getting ready to book a ressie for our family of 6 and BIL's family of 6; 4 adults, 8 kids.

Since we are two families that haven't been together in more than 5 years we are opting not to do the Grand Villa! :earboy2:

I figured that we could each have our own 2 bedroom so that we could all have our privacy and each set of adults could have the big bedroom & bathroom!

How do I book them? Do I just ask for 2 two bedrooms? Can I put them both under my name? What happens if I put one under their name, and then they flake out? Would the points be put back in our account? We are all going to be arriving on the same day and leaving on the same day.

As you all can tell.. .I am a little anxious using two years worth of points (we only have 175 a year right now) and something happening and them cancel on us.

Thanks for all your help!

No matter whose name is on the reservation, the points are still yours. I would suggest putting your guests' names on the reservation so that they can check-in independently of you. If you leave it in your name, and you have any sort of a travel delay, the resort will not allow them into the room until you arrive.

If they should flake out (I like that!), you still have full authority to call and cancel the room or change the name on the ressie.

Yes, if you cancel the reservation the points go back into your account. But, be aware of two things: 1) If you cancel with less than 31 days notice the points go into the Holding account instead of the regular account. The Holding account has strict limitations on how points can can be used. 2) If you cancel more than 31 days out points go into your regular account and back into the regular use year, but be careful of the dates as you may wind up in a situation where it's too late to bank the points and then it'd be use them or lose them by the end of your use year.

If you used points borrowed from your NEXT use year (you said you were using 2 years worth of points) these borrowed points go into the CURRENT use year, not their original use year.
