He does know they're going to prom together, but DD is the creative type and likes planning fun things, so she thought it would be neat to somehow bring Disney into it. Yes, I do admit things get way too crazy way too early, but senior prom is a big deal here in the South. She's not really wanting to do anything way over the top, just something fun and cute. Thanks for the feedback!
oh good lord.
You people who waste your own time just to post something negative are ridiculous!! Who cares if kids make a bigger deal out of it now than they did when you were a kid. Why do you care?
OP ~ An invite at WDW would be the best, either of my teenagers would love that.I like the Space Mountain idea, because as a PP said, a little easier to be sneaky. (Oh and my Dd has been dating her bf over a year and he did a "big" invite too, it's just what they do, it's fun!)
And for those of you who think it's ridiculous (and I'm not saying it isn't) and your kids will never do this, or never spend x amount of money on prom, etc... I refer you to the group of parents who, before actually having any kids, had it ALL figured out. Yeah. Remember them? Don't go there. Karma is a B
Prom-posal? That just gives me a case of the icks. He's on an extremely expensive vacation with his girlfriend's parents. How much more special does she demand it be?
I love cute prom proposals! They don't have to cost a lot and make for great memories. Some advice if your going to take a sign on a ride for a photo is use sturdy paper and bolded print. The wind on rides can wrinkle up the paper. Personally, I think spelling out prom with objects are cute. Towel animals in the room or in an nice cream sundae would be interesting. Personally, if my bf did not ask me to prom and just assumed we would be going would not fly with me in high school but that is just the culture where I live. Let us know how it goes and have a great trip!
Fyi - it's all Disney's fault! At least in our area, the prom-postal trend really took off as a result of this Disney movie:
