I remember always making my oldest son's Easter baskets myself because you could put much better toys and cooler candy in it by buying it yourself and just buying an empty basket and grass. I still do that with my 2 younger kids who are now 12 and 13.
I think I kept making my oldest DS28's baskets up until he was 15 or 16. I just put more mature things in the basket besides toys and stuffed animals. Like T-Shirts and DVD's/CD's.
I mentioned to my DD13 that I had almost finished making their Easter baskets for this year (I keep them hidden in my closet) and she seemed surprised that I was even making them any because "I'm a teenager now mom"
I even get a little extra candy from whatever I am putting in my younger 2 kid's baskets and still give some to my oldest son and his g/f. Not in a basket though. I put some candy in a ziploc bag and next time he comes by I give him his Easter bag.
But long story short, I am curious how old your kids are/were when you stopped making/buying them Easter baskets and what kind of things do you put in the baskets? And if you don't mind me asking how much do you spend on it?
I have bought all the candy and Bloonies and Webkinz off Amazon but I have spent about $100 so far for 2 kids. I'm wondering if that is average or high or low compared to what other ppl do for their own kids.
