How old to ride EE?

So my DD will be 6 during our next visit and she says she wants to ride EE. She meets the height requirements, but I have never been on EE so I don't know how the ride is. On our last trip she rode BTMRR and Splash Mountain with no problems. Is this ride too wild for a 6 year old? How old was your child when he/she first rode...and what was their reaction?

6 years old and wants to ride. I'd let her.

I've seen some pretty young kids on EE, and they've all seemed to love it. Everyone's different, so while it is more intense than BTMM and splash, you guys won't know until she rides.

I love coasters and I'd say it's not bad at all. It's not too intense and it's really smooth. As long as sometimes tall enough and wants to ride, I wouldn't tell them to hesitate

If she wants to ride and she's tall enough, let her. My DD is 5 and saw EE on TV. She can't wait to ride it. Im not going to stop her and let her think it's too scary. I live that my daughter is a daredevil.

My son was 6 and loved it. At that age he was all about coasters anyway. His brother wouldn't try it until he was 8.

regards

Thanks everyone. I haven't tried to deter her, I love roller coasters and I'm glad she's following suit, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't too rough! We watched a YouTube video and now she's even more excited!

I don't think it's too rough -the scary part (IMO and DD agrees) is it does go backwards around a curve in the dark.

DS5 rode it on our last trip. He was so excited for EE, but as soon as got off the ride he looked at me and said "Oh mommy, I should not have done that". He still tells everyone who asks about the trip about how scary it was.

Every kid is different, but they will never know if they don't try it! If she meets the requirements and wants to do it, I say let her go for it.

Our 7 year old is afraid to ride it. He hates drops and he sees the big one that comes out of the mountain and says he isn't ready yet. I always ask to check but I don't push him. He will do it when he is ready. He did ride Tower of Terror and said he will wait a little while before he rides it again.:)

Our DS did it at 6. We made him watch the ride from the sidewalk before doing it. The Yeti was actually moving then. He didn't think the ride itself was scary, but the Yeti scared him so much that he got scared after riding the Matterhorn at DLR the following year. We had never ridden it and didn't know about the Yeti. I think he's still broken now and only stationary, which may help. He's 9 now and wants to do it the week after next.

My 5 year old loved it, but my 8 year old was so scared she cried. It really depends on the kid, but if your DD wants to ride, go for it!

My son was three. He loved the coaster but was freaked out by the yeti, especially since it was night. Rode again another day when light out and still didn't like the yeti.

I just got back from a trip with my nephews, one just turned 6 on Monday and the other is 6.5. They were so excited to try it out, and loved it so much, we ended up riding 3 times in a row in the morning and 7 (SEVEN!) times in a row in the hour before the park closed that night. I had never been on it before - always too scared to try it. I love it - it is really smooth! I think I may like it better than Big Thunder Mountain!

My DS rode it at age 5 and loved it. His sister wasn't tall enough to ride at the time, but will be next time around, she will also be 5. I suggest looking at pictures and watching the ride videos on you tube, so everyone knows what to expect.

Mine will ride it for the first time this trip. She is super excited about it.

My DD WAS 5, and my niece is 5 and there now and just rode it twice is week.

My 5 yo son loved it last year and actually rode it twice. My 7 yo daughter tried it and told me, "Daddy never again!" Planning for our May trip this year my son told me he wants to ride EE first. It all depends on the child. If your 6 yo wants to give it a try, I say go for it. :)

Sometimes these things take time. A lot of time. DS17 hangs out in the gift shop whenever we go on ToT. He's been on it several times over the years, but just recently decided "no more." :) Too bad it's his sister and my favorite ride.

My 5 year old rode it twice in a row (rider switch) and loved it. That and Test Track are his favorites. Do warn them about going backwards, that was the part that made DS nervous.

My daughter first rode at 4 and was brave but a little frightened with the height, speed and dark the first time. But then she rode twice more on the same trip, and multiples at 6, 8, and 10. She is now a coaster addict at the age of 12.
