How old is your oldest appliance?

Our washer and dryer are almost 18 years old. The fridge, and dishwasher follow close behind at almost 17yo.

My poor dishwasher. She's on her last legs and struggling to hang on until I can get to the appliance store to buy a new one.

Our washer & dryer (pieces of garbage that they are) were new the year before we bought this home, so that would make them 8. Everything in the kitchen was replaced at that time too but with extremely low-end models; we upgraded them all with nice KitchenAids two years ago.

Our house was built in 1979, the only original appliance left is our stove top...waiting to replace that when we remodel the kitchen...hopefully soon. LOL Our oven was just replaced in 2019 after the clock broke and our home warranty couldn't get parts to fix it so they gave us a brand new oven.

Stove/oven probably about 15 years old.
Fridge is 11 years old. It replaced one that was 27 years old and still worked but we were concerned it's life was near the end
HVAC system is 30 years old. I have it serviced twice a year and the tech says everything checks out like new for now......but it is one of the older units he services....not counting the 70 year old Lennox system another customer has.

Our stove is 27 years old. We just got rid of the 26 year old refrigerator last December because we were worried about it dying due to age and the condition of the seals. It needs to fit in the hole in the wall in the kitchen, so we are extremely limited in choices. I actually hate it, but we could only find two that would fit in the cubbyhole, and this was the lesser of two evils. I'll be we'll be lucky if we get a decade out of it judging by how they make appliances these days.

Sadly appliances just don’t last like they used to.
So true. We got a new fridge 3, maybe 4 years ago, just because and got rid of our 10 yr old basic $600 Kenmore fridge. Ended up giving it to my parents, as they needed something "newer"...its still going strong while our new way more expensive Whirlpool has been nothing but problems. :sad2:

Newer washers and driers become obsolete pretty fast too. We had a Maytag wash for over 20, when it bit the dust about 7 years ago we chose an LG. Four problem filled years later we bought a Speed Queen, which is a tank. I think it will last. Such an aggravation to be without a washer. Ugh.

I got a refrigerator that works great 28 years old. Down in the basement now but still use it. Doesn’t look good but runs great. Never been serviced either.

I didn't think small items. Let's see we have electric fry pan from DH collage years...So at least 50 years. I have a sewing machine about the same age.

I have an electric perk coffee pot from a wedding gift (43 years in a few days), but that was hardly ever used, so that doesn't count. The frypan and sewing machine is used once a month or so.

Our fridge, stove and microwave are 12 years old. We bought them in when we moved this house.

Our in-wall oven might be original to our house, I’m not sure. So somewhere between being built (1964) to the 70s? I can definitely tell you it is of the harvest gold color. It could be 50+ years old!

It works great, have had the heating element changed 2x in the past 17 years we’ve been here, but getting harder to find parts for it and a replacement is $800-1100 because of the small size and to find one that will fit the opening.

I will say, I did use appliance paint and spray it white to match our other appliances. Oh, and there is no longer the front glass so I have it ‘hid’ with nice towels. But other than the the temperature is right-on, lol!

A refrigerator and a dryer that I got in late September 1997 when I moved back to Toledo.

We just replaced our cooktop and ovens...both original to the house built in 1963, both died at the same time:( the wall ovens did require a little bit of shaving away a but of the sides and loosing half my drawer underneath.

Moved in 4 years ago so I don't know how old anything is except the new furnace I put in 6 months after moving in.

Even my washer and dryer that I put in, got from someone else used so I don't know the age.

The fridge is in dire need of replacement but just before pulling the trigger, I realized there isn't enough room for a modern fridge.

Another Waring blender owner. It was my mother’s and I’d guess it’s from the late ‘40s/early ‘50s as it has a chrome finish and an operating switch instead of buttons.
My electric mixer was purchased around Christmas 1979 from the hardware store on the corner and the price tag is still on the box: $ 18.49. It was overpriced for the time but I wanted to make cookies.

If you mean the cabinets are too low that happened to every person in my neighborhood. Some shaved them down, some lifted it up but I called the local cabinet people who took care of it for around $50, they popped it off and removed a facade bottom then put it back up. If it's too narrow that is a giant pain.
