How old is "too old" to have kids?

I am going on 31 and DH (38) and I have been trying for 5 years. I am not sure at what age I will say it is time to stop trying. I try to think positively and enjoy being child-less. It does have advantages, after all! And I am lucky that DH has two sons from his previous marriage...I can enjoy them when they come to visit.
Don't worry about finding "Mr. Right", my best friend just got married last October at age 30, her hubby is 42.
He is out there! It just takes a while to find him sometimes.

I completely understand what you are going through. I am 32 years old and recently divorced. I have always wanted to be a mom, but am thankful I did not have kids with my ex (we were married over 8 years and not have children was purposeful). If I am not remarried by the time I am 38, I plan to adopt.

I have a single friend, who is probably 37, who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in December - via artificial insemination. It was definitely the right decision for her...I have less desire to have a baby that is biologically mine.

Yeah, don't know why I feel "rushed" all of a sudden, I'm not even 100% sure that's what I want, just getting freaked that "time is running out," I guess. Freaky stuff!! In a way, I think, man it's easier to just get a puppy :p

I don't know, I'm 35, been single for a little over 2 years, it's weird.

Who knows, it works in mysterious ways, maybe Javy Lopez will find his way to my house :teeth:

A friend of mine has been looking into adopting from China for a few years. She's not planning on actually getting a child for a few more years, because getting the child will cost $30,000!! Surely I can convince someone to sleep with me for less than that. ;)

Remember, age is just a state of mind!My two oldest are 9 & 10. Then we decided to have another 2 years ago. I was 37 years old. I feel younger and more energized with this active toddler than I've ever felt. When people ask me are you going to try for that boy? I say, "you never know"!

I was 30 and 34 when I had mine.

I personally would not want to have a baby after 40, but that is just my personal decision. I know many people who have, in fact one of my colleagues is pregnant right now with her 1st baby - she is 41 and in great health. All the tests indicate that she and the baby are doing fine. :)

I had my one and only at 38! :) It was the best, most rewarding thing I have ever done. I keep up just fine for an 'old broad' ;)
