I think that another point worth making is that WDW is NOT the everyday nomal lifestyle. Most people would not put a 5-year old in a stroller everytime they head to the mall but WDW ,for many,is a once in a life time or a few times in a childhhod trip. At WDW, all the rules go out the window. At home Ds would not have ice cream for lunch, but at WDW it happens sometimes. One year at WDW he wanted to wear his same Mickey Mouse t-shirt every day. WHY NOT. ( I did wash it out several times
). His fondest memory of WS is that on our first trip he got to have a beaver tail for dinner one night. Ridding in a stroller for one week in not going to make a child obese. At WDW our goal is to make sure everyone has the best possible time. Kids can understand the rules are different than they are at home.
I tried to talk my DS, then about 8 ,into ridding in a stroller at WS one night. He was tired and wanted to go back to the room. I wanted to see the WS. He however would have been fine ridding around for a few hours. He said no way was he ridding in a stroller so we headed back to the resort, but it's everyones' trip. If it makes your trip better, go for it.
