So, how old do you think you act? I just met a lady in her mid 80s who acts like she is in her 60s (or less). I have also met people in their 30s who act as if they are in their 90s.

If what *they* say is true and age is just a state of mind (sans the aches and pains of getting older, of course), then how old would you say your *state of mind* is compared to your physiological age? Do you believe we can turn back the clock on our mental aging? What makes some people mentally age fast and others to stay young in their outlook their entire lives?

I think I have a fairly young outlook on life. I guess because I had my children a little later in life so I am still in the thick of parenting. :goodvibes

....52 going on 15....:teeth: [not 'romantically', of course....;) ]

My DH thinks I act like a 5 year old. Especially when Disney is involved. ;)

Ummm...probably I would say 20ish -- I don't know...we are a weird family.

We have definitely been known to act like complete goofballs even in public.

My grandfather used to tell me to act my age, not my shoe size!:rotfl: I am 40, but I still act young. My sister is 36 going on 86, but life's too short...have fun!

I'm a big kid at heart. I do take care of my adult responsibilities - pay my bills, go to work (well, I'm currently unemployed...), keep my home and person clean, etc. - but otherwise, I'm 35 going on 8!

55 going on 18....maybe 21:lmao::rotfl2:...I won't grow up:lmao:

Poeple say I could pass for early 40's.

My daughter often tells me that I need to grow up. I don't know if that is good thing. Lol! I, long ago, stopped worrying about what others think of me. I enjoy life. As long as I am not doing anything to bother any one else, I do what I feel like doing. For instance, it is not unusual for me to just start singing in the middle of the theme parks. I'm not loud and I don't bother other guests, but I enjoy the music.

I spend most of my time, now, writing for children. I work with a dog rescue group. When I'm not doing those things, I'm out exploring. I go to the parks and watch other people. I go around my neighborhood looking for exotic creatures. I also work with young actors.

I may be 57 years old, but I refuse to sit down and grow old. My body may not be what it used to be, but my mind and zest for life are better than ever.

mid 30's but act/feel older....maybe late 40's.

That said my hobbies and interests are probably more on par with that of a 18 year old. But my outlook is more like a 40-50 year olds.

my oldest always asks how old I am and I respond 2!!:rotfl:and she never disagrees with me:rotfl:

That said when I was younger because of my circumstances I acted like an old woman...so I am finally getting my childhood!!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 I like your attitude!

DH is 73 and I just turned 63yo. It's a state of mind, luckily we are a couple of young at heart seniors who enjoy new adventures and living life to the fullest. :thumbsup2

Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. :thumbsup2

I've liked that saying for years!:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 One of DD's friend told her that High School Musical was so fake because nobody just breaks out in random song...she just had to :rolleyes1 because it's nothing for our family to do that at the house -- that and random quotes out of no where.

Luckily, we do contain most of our loopiness to th house (well...sort of...the doctor we had to see once did say it sounded like we were having a good time while we were waiting for him...OOPS...I guess DD & I got a little TOO loud with our giggles/goofiness...we always TRY to behave once the door opens and the doctor steps in -- I can only imagine what they think. We are always afraid they are going to open the door & find us making faces at each other or something. :lmao:). It's EXTREMELY dangerous when you add my mom and/or any of her sisters to the mix...something goofy is definitely going to happen but we are polite about things.

My mom is 70 & I don't think she acts it at all.

What makes some people mentally age fast and others to stay young in their outlook their entire lives?

Great question. I work with mostly elderly people (over 65). I can tell you that the ones who have a young outlook all have this is in common...curiosity. They want to know more. They want to experience new things and they ask questions. They like to read. They look outward instead of inward. In many ways, they are like children, because children are always curious. That to me is what makes someone young at heart. When you stop being curious, you start to get old.

"I don't want to grow up, I'm a Disneyworld kid, there's a million stuff at Disneyworld that I can play with! More coasters, more trains, more educational games, it's the biggest fun place there is! I don't want to grow, because then if I did, I wouldn't be a Disneyworld kid!"

A new theme song... I shall go practice. This will drive my dd crazy.

I am 24 and I think I act like it, most of the time. I do act like a little kid sometimes but doesn't everyone.
