How old do you act - inspired by the thread - How old do you look

"I don't want to grow up, I'm a Disneyworld kid, there's a million stuff at Disneyworld that I can play with! More coasters, more trains, more educational games, it's the biggest fun place there is! I don't want to grow, because then if I did, I wouldn't be a Disneyworld kid!"

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:dance3::cheer2: I agree!!!!

Great question. I work with mostly elderly people (over 65). I can tell you that the ones who have a young outlook all have this is in common...curiosity. They want to know more. They want to experience new things and they ask questions. They like to read. They look outward instead of inward. In many ways, they are like children, because children are always curious. That to me is what makes someone young at heart. When you stop being curious, you start to get old.

Absolutely! Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it is what keeps me going!

It truly depends upon the situation. I can be mature and act my age (21...however who is mature at 21?) or act like a complete fool and be 16 again...

Most people think that I am much older than I really am.

I'm 22... most of my good friends are in their 30's. Probably my best best friend is 36. She can't believe I'm only 22! I met her when she was my manager at my first job.

I did things much younger/quicker than most of my friends- meaning I got a PT job, then a FT job, then 2 jobs, then bought my own car, moved out on my own, got married, had a kid, etc. first out of everyone.

Yes, Piecy but kids tease. And you tease people with Reese cups photos. That's just totally immature of you. Hmph.

I wonder what makes some people curious and others not? What in the brain chemistry causes this shift between childhood and adulthood? I wonder if it is possible to re-train someone to become curious again (hence to become younger in their outlook)?

in some areas, i act older. in others, im still a kid. and then there are the times when i actually act my age. it depends on who i'm with and what i'm doing.
btw, im 19

...actually, my 21-y-o DS is pretty mature - more so than his 23-y-o DBrother!

I'm 39, but when I look in the mirror I still see a cute, thin 21 year old. I have reverse body dismorphia!

I really do believe aging is a state of mind. My Grandpa is 97, lives alone and still drives, cooks, manages his finances and best of all... is on Facebook! He's my idol.

ummm I would say at work I act alot younger since I teach young kids. As far as dealing with others, probally like 18ish. Hobby wise, Mine balance out I think (hike, paint, photograpy, writing) with my age.

I will be 8 forever and I don't care what anyone says. I like my finger paints, playdough, cookies, and playtime. Now go away I need a juice box....

I would say I act my age, but I think many would think I act way older than my age. I think I have what some would describe as an old fashioned code of behavior.

I went to a middle school band concert last night and was really surprised by the behavior of some of the parents. A 40 yr old couple in front of me spent the entire concert talking, poking each other, giggling, and twisting around in their seats to see who was there.

IMO there's a time and a place for certain behaviors and you can remain active and playful in your life (which I do strive to do) without just plain behaving badly.
