I don't know, how often does it rain? :rotfl:

I used to take my car to the dealer ever two weeks (give or take) where they'd wash it for free. Once I started working from home and DH then took the car to work, I stoped going and DH can't be bothered. I try for a couple times a year, and I make sure to do it in the spring once it looks like we're done with snow for the year, just to get the salt off.

TvGuy, you misread the post. It said $12.99 a month which included hand drying. Why would you want an '87 Chevy? lol! Just kidding!

He also misunderstood that it's $12.99 a month for UNLIMITED car washes with hand dry. So I could go every day and its still $12.99 a month plus tip.

I have two male teens that are very into cars. They have never looked better! :lmao:

I can't read this anymore...you abusive car owners who wash your car
once a year are depressing me...

Depends. Our big ole raised roof van that doesn't show dirt very much - not as often.

My black convertible - every time I drive it if I want it to look good, which I do.

Not only is the rain my car wash, I live in Phoenix. It dont get washed very much at all LOL

Once a month for mine. I also keep it clean inside, make sure there's no garbage lying around, wipe the dashboard once a week.

My husband never takes garbage out of his car unless it reaks and the only time it gets washed inside and out, is when I know I'll be driving it because then I empty all the trash out of it (even found 1/2 a hamburger under the drivers seat once, nasty) and take it to the car wash for an inside and out scrub. I hate his car anyway and add the fact that it's not cleaned and yuck.

Every Sunday.....

Hand wash
Chamois dry
Eagle One Nano Wax applied to paint
Meguir's product of some kind, applied to the vinyl inside
Meguir's Rich Leather cleaner/protector applied to the seats
Wheel dressing applied. I like them looking shiny!!!!

Sounds like alot, but only takes about 1 1/2 hours. I occasionally do miss a Sunday, but not often!!!

Unlimited washes? Okay, I'm still too cheap to pop for that.
As for the '87 Chevy, it's a Suburban, and while I am a dyed in the wool Ford fan, they didn't anything like a Suburban back in '87. And while I know a Ford would last longer, and I can't seem to kill this Suburban. Been my family car for 23+ years, from the time my now 24 year old son was 6 months old.
It's carryed a lot of little league and soccer teams around over the years, and most recently moved my kids out of college dorms.

Back in the younger days it was at least twice a week. Twice in the summer I hand polished and waxed (polishing twice each time), full engine and interior detail, undercarriage detail, the works. It was my passion. I changed the color of my car from polishing it. Looking into the paint, your reflection was deep, very deep.

Now, I'm old. I have too much to do and not enough time to take care of the cars as I'd like. They get washed every couple of weeks when I have time. I have house projects to do, the kids to take care of an feed, my wife's car isn't even home 95% of the time I'm home. Last year I bought a black car and it was the first time I had polished and waxed a car in a long time. I need to do it again as well as detail Wifey's car. A lot less time is available though and I now have 2 cars rather than just my car like when I was younger and living at home/going to school.

Nothing smells better than a good carnauba wax being hand rubbed on a freshly detailed and polished car.

Is this one of those "Do you mow your lawn?" kinda things? Cause if it is, that would be "daily" and if it isn't, maybe a couple times a year. :) **Especially if one of the kids has barfed in it.**

I've had my current car for almost a year and I think I've washed it three times. I washed it twice myself, and had it washed and vacuumed once with a coupon. Also, dirty cars get on my dad's nerves so I think he took my car to be washed one time.

Eh, my car hardly ever looks dirty enough for me to be concerned. There has only been one time that I was embarrassed for my friends to see it like it was, so I washed it. Haha.

I put once a month, but really, it depends. In the summer I was it often, it hardly ever rains once summer starts (which is anywhere from now until late July, lol) and I go to the beach and camping often so it's necessary a lot. But in the non-"summer" season, that is late September-now ish, it just rains too much to make it unnecessary/stupid unless it'll not rain for more than two days in a row.

I have a great car wash though. I don't wash the car myself because it's bad to, but I'm not going to kid myself: I wouldn't do it myself anyway. $10 spent on a car wash is MUCH easier than me doing it myself, haha. I don't have enough time in my life for that. ;)
