We clean out and vacuum the interiors every month or so. They're covered in snow for 7mos a year, but even in the summer we rarely wash them. My mom washes all her vehicles often and always offers to wash ours too.


When I was a teenager and lived in FL I washed and waxed my car every week. Three kids and several vehicles later, I'm less concerned with how shiny my car is.

I voted a few times a year. During the warmer months the rain is my car wash. We go up north as often as we possibly can from May - October, and have to drive on several gravel roads to get to our property and it's very dusty so I just don't bother washing it very often. It gets washed more often in the winter, to get the salt off from the roads.

Dh takes my van to be cleaned about once a month. A local place will clean it inside & out for $20 plus tip...it's a good deal.

Delta Sonic is one of the few things that I really miss from Buffalo, the car wash places outside of D.C. are nothing in comparison and so expensive

I try and wash my cars twice a month, wax them 2 or 3 times a year, which may explain why my 1987 Chevy still has shiny paint.

I never ever ever ever ever ever take a car to a car wash, always do it by hand myself....helped too many friend put their front license plate, windshield wipers and radio antennas back on after going through a car wash.
And I certainly would never pay $12.99 for a car wash .
The hand wash places here are all $8, and the quickly car washes are $4 (the ones that used to be free with a gasoline fill up).

My real answer is whenever my son or his friends need money, lol! $15yo boys always need $10 or even $20 if they sweep it out.

TvGuy, you misread the post. It said $12.99 a month which included hand drying. Why would you want an '87 Chevy? lol! Just kidding!
