I work for a very small family (not my family) company and actually do all the paperwork, including payroll. Business is booming here, but we haven't gotten a pay raise for a year and a half.

How often do you get pay raises??

Melinda

DH's employer used to give them annually...right after evaluations. They cut them this year and already said no raises for 2003. Oh well.

Yearly, although ours were postponed this year for 3 months. I work for the Bank of New York, so it was understandable the company needed to do this.

Sometimes I've had other 'performance' bonuses that are not part of the normal raise cycle, but those are unusual.

I work for the government, and we receive step increases. They range from every year to every three years, depending on what step you are within your grade. I have another year before my next step.

We do receive a cost of living adjustment every year, which ranges between 2 and 5%, depending on what the pres wants to give us. :)

I get one once a year. This years amounts to about $20.00 a week. DH gets one once a year also.

We usually get 2 per year (altho, I've gotten 3 this year :) )

We get an annual merit review (with a raise if we do OK with our performance review) and we also usually get another (larger) raise across the board for nurses, to keep the salaries competitive with other facilities in the area.

I got those two and then another, but, I don't remember why we got that third one...
All together, it totaled almost 2.00 per hour increase this year. Not too shabby...

I work for the local county government and we get step increases too on our hire date or grade change date. We get the COLA raises too. What ever the commissioners vote for in January. So I guess I should say twice a year unless they vote not to give a COLA raise.

Depends. This company gives a cost of living/performance raise yearly with your review. If you get promoted, you receive a raise upon promotion depending on the job level.

A company I worked at previously gave performance raises. I received 5 in one year...they were based on customer input and project performance metrics. The fewest I got was 2 in one year (larger projects that took longer to complete).

DH gives yearly raises out based on performance....if they do there job well and are loyal. That is how he bases raises. One person got $200/ week, another got $500/week and another got $100/week and 2 got $25/week...some got their walking papers. It's funny how some people are so motivated and others arn't.

He also pays for their insurance, and pays them for 14 holidays, and 1 week sick/per year.

Maybe you ask for a review, it certainly sounds like you do a lot around your office.

here raises are entirely based on merit, and we don't recieve COL, so it could be every year or it could be never.

We were supposed to have them annually, but because of the economy neither myself nor my husband have had one in 2yrs

I worked for an engineering startup company back in the early 1990's. In the 5 plus years that I was there, we got exactly ZERO pay raises. And we even had to take a 2% pay cut when business wasn't going to well. I don't know why I waited so long to leave that job. I suppose it was because I didn't want to let the other engineers down since I knew that they would have to pickup my work load.

Where I am now, we count on a 3% annual raise. Regardless of merit, cost of living, or any other external factors, we get 3%. But hey, it beats getting NOTHING. :)

When I was working full time I received a raise once a year. DH works for the US government and they normally get one raise a year, however, this past year they got two. Usually the raise is after the first of the year.

Get a raise whenever I sell more than the last pay period. On the other hand, if I sell less, the check goes down. I jsut got the pay statement for the end of this month on Monday. September is going to be $2000 less than last September was. Oh well.

Well, its every year at the college.. its the same as Towncriers 3% acroos the board , no merit, no bonuses, just 3%.

DH gets it every year, but the percentage is dwindling...

At the Y, its maybe every 18 months or so.

At the township, its every year as well.

Used to be twice a year, now it is only once...but we get the equivalent of 2 raises at one time..:bounce:

So far we have gotten them every year at the beginning of the new fiscal year. This years were noticably smaller through out though...more of that 9/11 fall out.
