How often do they change the sheets!?

Here's a thought: Call Housekeeping and ASK to have your sheets changed daily.

eta: Disney's not lazy, they're conserving water and energy (before anybody asks why they don't change the sheets every day. Think about it - potentially upwards of fifty THOUSAND sheets and at least as many towels are likely to be used any given day.

This is a quote from Disney's Best Kept Secrets..."If you were to wash and dry one load of laundry every day for the next 44 years, you'd clean about as much as the Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Laundry do in a single DAY!"

Can you imagine what it would be if they washed ALL the sheets!! :laundy:

I stayed at WL in February for 7 days, and to tell you the truth, I never even paid attention if the sheets were changed or not.

It wouldn't have mattered to me if they weren't. They don't get changed more than once a week at home, either.

To be honest I have worked for several hotels and this is the norm for all of them. You need not worry about the sheets if you are a stay over for more then one night they get changed every third night or more depending on request and how busy. What you should worry about is the comforter and blanket those , maybe once a month even after people leave. They are almost never washed on a regular basis so beware...thats what should be requested to be changed when you stay to be safe.:cool1:

That is why we remove the comforter and bedspreads first thing. Because of an immune disorder, I call housekeeping as soon as we arrive in the room and speak with a manager - they are always very kind and
accommodating at every resort, be it deluxe, moderate or value.:thumbsup2

I used to work in the hotel industry. The bed sheets are not the problem. Its the bed spread! The are the items that dont get cleaned too often. As soon as I check into any hotel is strip the bed spread from the bed and toss it in the corner. There is just no telling what is on them!:scared:

heehee, that's clever.
Although, I don't quite understand the original question. Do you change your sheets more than once a week at home?

Actually, yes I do. My DS(6) has special needs and still wears a goodnite, which he wets through more nights than not, when we go he'll be sleeping with my sister. Not many 17 year olds would like to sleep in a pee-pee smelling bed.

That is what I do too. Just toss the bedspread them into a corner. they are just nasty :scared: .

When I am staying in a Deluxe resort and spending over $300/night, they change my sheets daily. I always request it.

i toss the bedspread into the corner too:) hubby thinks i'm being nutty

Unless there's a good reason to change the sheets every day (such as wetting the bed), I think it's crazy to askt hem to change the sheets every day. Not to mention trying to help the environment.. :) When I get older, I would like myself and my children to enjoy the environment (when I have them!). One more set of sheets might not sound like too much, but if you have everyone that's paying over $300/night expecting their sheets to be changed every day since they're paying so much... it adds up. I figure that $300 a night is going towards other amenities that I'm splurging for. :thumbsup2 Ha, for $300 though, I would definitely ask them to bring a clean comforter. We never use the ones that are on the beds! gross!

Just my 2cents.

Okay so this question might be out there but how often do they change the sheets in the resort? We stayed 7 night last year and they never changed them. This year we are staying 11 nights and I am hoping they will at least change them once. Do they know how many nights you are staying or do you have to request it?
Chessie 2008 - Where are you staying? It might make a difference if you are renting DVC points from an owner as I don't think that they provide maid service on a daily basis at the Villas unless you book them through a CRO.

We never use those....I bring my own pillows too! Just something about someone elses drool grosses me out :scared1: even with a clean pillowcase! You never know who slept on it before you and what germs they had :scared1: YUK!

So here's my question -- if the normal schedule is every 3 days, and the people before me stay 11 days (I know -- it sounds like those stupid word math problems!) and I check in on the 12th day, does that mean that I'll be sleeping on their sheets for one night?! :scared1: Or do they change them every 3 days during one person's stay, and then after they check out?

Relax. They do a comple cleaning after a guest(s)check out and yes they put fresh sheets on for the new guests .

:rotfl:
What didn't you understand about the original question? It was pretty straight forward - what is the norm for how often they change the sheets. What does how often you change your sheets at home have anything to do with how often they are changed at a HOTEL? I'm not paying anyone to make my bed at home either - would you like to know how often I make it? I will be staying in a hotel where I will be paying a pretty high price to use their beds after standing in the hot FL sun for many hours a day. Maybe you might be as fresh as daisy but some of us may not be.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I love the DIS, but I have to tell you, sometimes more information is too much information. I was never paranoid about dirty spreads and bedbugs, etc. until I started reading the DIS. Now it puts all sorts of things in my head! :rotfl:
