How often do they cancel Wishes early August?

We're at MK only one day (Aug 5) and I was able to get a Fireworks Dessert Party ADR. Since the cancellation window closes 5 days before the event, I kind of want to know what are our chances of seeing Wishes while eating sweets vs only eating dessert in the rain. Thanks for your help!

It is rare for all of wishes to be canceled- they may cancel tinkerbells flight but it would have to be a heavy lightening storm for wishes to be canceled and those are more likely midday than at night. They will still go if it is only raining.

I don't think I have ever been to MK and they cancelled Wishes and we have been there during some impressive storms. Many times Tinker Bell is cancelled but that is it.

They won't cancel Wishes for anything less than a very severe storm. and if it's THAT severe, you probably won't be out there eating desserts either. If that happens you'd get a refund.

The dessert party is covered so you will not be sitting in the rain.

A other PPs have said, conditions would have to be extreme to cancel.
During a tour we took, our CM explained that once the fireworks are loaded in, they have to be fired. They cannot be unloaded or left sitting unattended over night.

Statistical chance that you are there when Wishes is canceled: very, very small chance.

In 20 years of visits, I recall being there for delayed show once (high winds) and cancelled once (hurricane like storm, not fit for man or beast outside kind of storm).

Thank you all for your replies. Very happy to read that our chances of seeing Wishes are very good.

Well, we didn't *quite* say that! They won't cancel them.
If there's a bad enough storm, you may be huddled up peering at the clouds and smoke watching them light up from the fireworks going off behind them...

I agree with the others.
I've done the Dessert party many times, including during a really bad storm last August. During that storm Wishes was delayed 45 minutes- but they kept the dessert out and let us stay the whole time. The dessert party is a very good place to wait out a storm. The first MSEP was cancelled that night. Tink did not fly that night.

Actually in the 6 times we have been to the dessert party, Tink has flown only twice. Maybe we have just been unlucky with weather. I look at her flying as a "bonus"- I do not count on it.

Yeah - watching Tink get hit by lightning wouldn't be the happiest way to end the evening...
