how much WDW fun can you have in 4 days? may '07 - w/ pics & video! FINISHED!!!

you are such a great storyteller....we've been there and done that but it's so much more interesting from your perspective...;) plua I'm too lazy to write a TR myself...thanks for letting me relive my experiences through you.:thumbsup2

Great to see another post........miss ya where you been....anyway great pictures and love the last report...even with the birds :scared1: I'm amazed how much you guys fit in 4 days.....Thanks again for sharing....one thing, we were at WDW the last week of June....We stayed our first night of trip at POP before moving over to SSR.....I didn't know they had frozen cokes..dang it......we are going again for the week of thankgiving and I'm looking for the frozen cokes....can't believe I missed that......I also like the rum idea.....:thumbsup2 Got to go grab a cold one :woohoo: sit on the deck and plan my next trip.........looking forward to more......popcorn::

Oh my! Prince Phillip has a stalker!! Too funny. Oh, I also love the pink LeClick comment. I remember those!!! I always hear great things about the Lapu Lapu. Sounds so yummy. :) Thanks for posting another fun installment!

Hey! I got the wife to look at your trip report and she loves it......she about lost it with the Prince.....too funny :lmao: she also loves the pictures:love: the only thing is she said, Ray could use a Florida Gator hat....I reminded her do not mess with a man and his hat....can't wait for more...........popcorn::

I can just picture you running from the little birdie!! And the pink "le click" I had one of those!!!!

i had a pink le click too! i was like 9, so that literally was in the '80's, 1985 to be exact. i guess that's what made me think of it.

Loved the video with "Prince Phillip's boyfriend" ... that was too funny! And, we LOVE Kona Cafe'. We've only been there for breakfast in the past, but I just booked an ADR for dinner on our future trip. Your pics make it look great!

you'll love the dinner at kona. we did! so good!!!! i'm actually going there for breakfast when i go back with my friend in september. so i guess i made a good choice? what did you guys get?

Some how I posted in between your posts..............anyhoo. Love the video of prince phillip and his "fan"!

Kona looks so good, but my dh isn't a fan of "foo fooy" food so I'm not sure He'd like it.

it's not too "foo fooy"....he might like it! that filet was the best i've ever had. and the mashed potatoes were really good to. so there you go.....steak and potatoes....what man doesn't like that! ;)

This was a funny installment...between the bird and the camera and the Prince's boyfriend dancing.....I am LMAO. Good one!! Looking forward to more. And what could your small dream be??? Hmmm.....

thanks! you'll find out about my dream soon! i'll probably get the next installment up within the next few days.

Lots of classic lines in this one! :rotfl2:

He said he was sorry, scooter nazi!

Coat sir is to plastic ring dome ducks!

Was his mouth full of cotton? English as a second language, perhaps! Either way I'm glad you made sense of it because I know I couldn't have.

And I vote freaky-stalker-with-an-AP on the faux hawk guy! Did Prince Phillip acknowledge him in any way?

Don't you LOVE Kona? I've booked it twice for the Sept. trip! It's that good!

Is your trip over already???

the scooter nazi comment....it's a disorder i have called word vomiting. the words just come out....i can't control them!

no clue about the dude and the plastic ring dome ducks! he didn't sound foreign, so i don't think the language was a problem. i really think he was drunk or something. i think the only reason i understood him (eventually) is because i have learned to understand people for a living! ray never did figure out what he said...i had to tell him!

i didn't notice that phillip acknowledged him, but i could be wrong. the guy really was cute about the whole thing though. he wasn't obnoxious or anything....apparently just a big fan! :rotfl:

I'm taking a break for a while as I haven't lost any weight and keeping up with all my subbed threads takes ages :rotfl2:

Wow short lines again!

Hey I always wanted one of those

Good job you weren't in Epcots World Showcase :rotfl2:

Weird

OMG that's so what I'm ordering :goodvibes

well, we miss you over there. come back and check in soon! and you can't go wrong with that filet at kona........mouth watering!!!

I have so enjoyed your trip report. It's amazing how much you've done in your four day vacation. I'm hoping to book a vacation soon, and I don't think my boyfriend could take much more than four days at Disney, so it's great to see how much you can see in that time frame.

it's so hard to get it all in though! good luck! we were exhausted when we came home.....needed a vacation from our vacation! we had a blast though. i'm sure you will, too!

Love the report ~ lots of ground was covered in just 4 days... I can't wait to go back. I am enjoying all the pictures - it makes me feel like I am there with y'all.

thanks! i'm glad i'm enabling you to live vicariously through me....that's the whole point of reading a TR, right? ;)

I hate when I think of some zinger and then don't say it. Usually I don't think of it until the fact, though!

:rotfl2: Ok, so you made up for not zinging the camera guy!

Thanks so much for including the videos! I got goosebumps when Mickey told Minnie she was his princess!

That almost landed Diet Pepsi on my monitor!

Mmmm, can't wait to try the Lapu Lapu!

Thanks for the great chapter. Can't wait to hear about your dream!

Denise

the part where mickey tells minnie she's a princess was like the sweetest thing i've ever heard...... and definitely try the lapu lapu. it's kinda pricey, but worth every penny!

you are such a great storyteller....we've been there and done that but it's so much more interesting from your perspective...;) plua I'm too lazy to write a TR myself...thanks for letting me relive my experiences through you.:thumbsup2

you're welcome!!! and thanks for your compliments! :goodvibes

the frozen cokes rocked the house! i'm staying at OKW when i go with a friend in september and SSR when DH and i go back in april and i'm so disappointed that we're gonna miss out on the frozen cokes! by the way, how did you like SSR? it looks beautiful......i can't wait!

Oh my! Prince Phillip has a stalker!! Too funny. Oh, I also love the pink LeClick comment. I remember those!!! I always hear great things about the Lapu Lapu. Sounds so yummy. :) Thanks for posting another fun installment!

you're welcome! as i told someone above, the lapu lapu is to die for....kinda pricey, but so worth it!

Hey! actually, i'm not offended at all by the florida gator statement. i'm not a huge UT fan...we're both from tennessee and i was brought up in a vandy househould (we're gluttons for punishment!). anyway, i'm not really a gator fan, but i do immensely enjoy it any time georgia gets beat and florida tends to do that a lot! any day where there's a good bulldog beating is a good day in my book, no matter who it is that's doing the beating! needless to say, i was a very happy girl when vandy beat georgia last year. i wore a vandy shirt for halloween and whenever anyone asked me what i was i said, "'i'm a winner!" :lmao: the georgia bulldog fans around here were NOT happy with me! we live literally 25 miles from athens, so we're in bulldog country. you can smell the dog poop around here!!!!!

on the way out we ran into another grouch! I KNOW!!!! what is it with people being mean at the happiest place on earth????? this lady was in a scooter and ray accidentally *almost* ran into her. now you have to take into account this happened right outside tink's treasures so the castle is right there and when there's a big honkin castle in front of you, you might be a tad bit distracted and not paying attention where you're going. anyway, ray almost ran into her, but DIDN'T and said, "oh, i'm sorry" when he did it. the woman scowled at him, then looked at her husband and said, "see what i mean???" :headache: :headache: :headache: up until now i was pretty much able to keep the mouth i inherited from my father under control, but this was the exception. i turned around and said to her, "he said he was sorry, scooter nazi!!!!" :rotfl2: DH got a kick outta that one.

:lmao: Now where is that tag fairy??? that is hysterical.

Loved the video too!

As for the birds thing...I have a friend who was a similar fear. BUT, she got pooped on by about 3 canadian geese flying overhead when we were about 17, so I can understand her fear :lmao:

We loved SRR...it was our first stay there....we had a studio in Congress Park facing Downtown Disney...it was nice to sit on the balcony at night with a cold one after a day in the parks watching the water ferry's and the lights from DTD...The resort is very beautiful and the landscaping next the none.....The resort was very quiet and very romantic...I didn't know if I would like it because when I think of Florida I think of palm trees and beaches not upstate NY...we stayed at Caribbean Beach our last two trips and loved it there...the past trip POP and SRR love it there.....I guess we're easy to please.... We are doing the same thing for Thanksgiving this year......Drive down Saturday stay the first night at POP (frozens Cokes....:yay: ) then on Sunday check-in to SSR for the rest of the week.. Never stayed at OKW so you will have tell me what you think?....We hope stay there in the future......

Hey! I understand the Vandy deal.....I'm a University of Virginia fan....I love the Halloween thing....that's a good one.....we have been to Peach bowl twice and played Georgia.....when we beat them in 1995, I never have seen so many distaught Georgia fans.....on way out of the georgia dome I made the comment 'Hey, it's only a game' and the response was 'To you it may be a game but to us it's a way of life'....OKAY.....

If you have any more questions about SSR I will be more than happy to answer them for you..............

Go Vandy and Go Hoo's

HA! Scooter Nazi! :lmao: :lmao: You do have to be on the look-out, they pop up out of nowhere! Also, I'm thinkin those drinks looked pretty darn yummy. You picked some good ones! Can't wait for your next installment! I leave next Monday and if you're not done, I'm going to miss you!

i'm actually not a DVC member......just got really lucky and i'm staying for free with one at OKW in september, then we rented points for SSR in april. 5 nights for $650....:cool1:

that's exactly how most (not all!) georgia fans are. it's perfectly fine to have spirit and support your team, but they act like it's just the end of the world when they lose.....such sore losers! on halloween when i was wearing my vandy shirt i was giving candy out to this little girl and she said, "you like vandy????" with this awful scowl on her face. i said, "yes. i'm from nashville and that's where vandy is, so i grew up being a vandy fan." and i said it in a super kid-friendly tone. she just rolled her eyes and said, "we don't like them. they beat georgia and it wasn't fair." um......exactly what was unfair about it and who told you that????? and the worst part is her mother is behind her just making this awful face at me and rolling her eyes. way to set an example for your kids!!! i don't understand why people don't teach their kids that losing is sometimes a part of life and you should learn to accept graciously. ever hear of good sportsmanship??? it drives me nuts!

OMGoodness!!! Your food and drinks look delectable! You're making me hungry/thirsty.

About scooter nazis, my friend got her foot run over by a scooter nazi last year at AK (our first day there). When my friend told the woman that she had just run over her foot, the woman said "well, you must have seen that I was in a scooter." No "I'm sorry", no nothing! So my friend was left with a smashed up and swollen foot for the rest of the trip.

The video of Prince Phillip's bf had me laughing out loud. You are too funny!

WOW! about the kid at Halloween.....No not the kid, but Mom.......Have a great week....

Your last two installments had me cracking up!:lmao: You are too funny! The lapu lapu looks so good! Let me know if you perfect the recipe at home. :thumbsup2

I wish I could think of nice comebacks like Scooter Nazi!! I get so angry I can't think of anything like that to say! It's only later on that the perfect comeback pops into my head. Infact, I could use some quick comebacks with SIL!! :rotfl:

you'll love the dinner at kona. we did! so good!!!! i'm actually going there for breakfast when i go back with my friend in september. so i guess i made a good choice? what did you guys get?
I'm so glad we booked the dinner! :goodvibes You definitely made a great choice for breakfast there...I personally feel it's one of the best in Disney for breakfast. My DH had the infamous Tonga Toast...he said it was rich, but he loved it. I had the macadamia nut pancakes.....they were awesome! And of course, the coffee is some of the best (if not the THE BEST) on property. :thumbsup2

okay, so i made a reference to prince phillip's boyfriend earlier. let me explain. there was a guy sitting a few feet in front of us that knew EVERY dance move and EVERY word to every song in the show. i'm thinking maybe he was a CM there on his day off??? here's a video of him doing some of the dance moves. he's in the lower righthand side of the screen wearing a grey sleaveless shirt and he has a faux-hawk.

now the reason i think he may be either really good friends with prince phillip or romantically involved is because every time prince phillip would come out or come near him, he would scream and wave to him. if you listen closely in the video below, you can hear him yell during prince phillip's solo. the little girl in the blue hat and the little girl in the white hat both turn to him because he was yelling so loudly! by the way, when i downloaded this i let it run through the sweetest part of the show.....where mickey asks minnie to dance and she says she can't because she's not a princess and he says, "gee, minnie, you've always been a princess to me!" sigh....

i wish ray would've known to keep him in the shot more. he was so cute! i was cracking up at him the entire time.....:goodvibes

after the show was over it was around 5:00 and we had a 5:30 ADR at kona cafe, so we headed towards the exit. we opted for the monorail to get to the poly.

the ride was uneventful except for ray commenting on the wilderness lodge and wanting to stay there next time and some guy next to us saying in response, "you don’t....day bear....coat sir is to plastic ring dome ducks." HUH???? :confused3 i swear that's what it sounded like he said. he repeated himself several times before i understood him to say, "you don't want to stay there because the boat service to magic kingdom sucks." oh, okay. thanks! :rolleyes1 i'm thinking that alcohol or some very heavy medication played a part in that miscommunication!

we made it to the poly around 5:15. i love this resort......so pretty! someday we'll stay here!!! we checked in at kona and the hostess gave us a beeper and told us it would be just a few minutes. i took some pics while we waited....

176.jpg

177.jpg

we took a seat in the lounge outside 'ohana's and this guy was the entertainment. he was really good!

165-1.jpg

in just a few minutes our beeper went off and we were seated. our server (ratana) greeted us promptly and did a great job - he and the server from narcoosee's (rita) tied for the best servers we had at WDW. we couldn't make a decision on our drinks, so we decided to share two of them....make sense, right?!? :rotfl: we decided on the kona cool sundown (the red one below - blend of vodka, chambord liqueur, and cranberry juice) and a lapu lapu (in the pineapple - myer's rum, bacardi 151, orange juice, sour mix).

168.jpg

ratana even brought a small glass of extra lapu lapu since he said we had a small pineapple....now *that's* service!!! both were good but the lapu lapu was the BEST alcoholic drink i've ever had!!!!! i'm still trying to perfect this one at home.

we both decided on the crab cakes for our appetizer. in the meantime, ratana brought some really good sweet bread with macadamia nut butter.....yum!

169.jpg

here's ray waiting for our food.....

167.jpg

here are our crab cakes.......so good! very different from the ones at narcoosees, but still very, very good!

170.jpg

for our entrees i got the char crusted filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus and ray got the beef teriyaki with mashed potatoes and broccoli.....

172.jpg

171.jpg

we shared of course and both were very good, but let me tell you....my filet was out of this world.....the best steak i had at WDW!!! yes, better than le cellier! i didn't even use my knife. it just fell apart.......YUM!!!!!

for dessert we got the banana creme brulee and the white chocolate cheesecake...

174.jpg

173.jpg

both were good but honestly we didn't even come close to finishing them because we were so full! i wanted to get some pressed pot coffee, but i decided against it because i was so stuffed.

we LOVED kona cafe....such good food and the service was excellent! i highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

next time......nighttime at MK, i get a very small but very cute dream and wishes!!!!!!

TFS

ok, so I cant possibly read all of this now but wanted to mark the thread. This is an awesome trip report. I hope you rode TOT. I didnt ride it 2 years ago, but last year managed to bring myself to do it and kicked myself all the way out out MGM for not doing it sooner, its my favorite. Well, I am only on page 8, gotta get some work done will continue later. Thanks for a great report.:yay:

Hi Dawn! I found your trip report a few days ago and I just recently got all caught up. I'm LOVING it!!! Your pictures are all so great and I love the videos, too. I included videos in my last trip report and I love how more and more people are doing so. It makes the trip so much more real and fun to read about! Thank again for sharing, I can't wait to hear about your dream!

Wow....That's soooommmme TR! Great Job!

I just wanted to add one thing that stuck with me from page one-about your DH's interest in going to Yellowstone! Yellowstone NP and WDW are my two favorite places on earth-and for very very different reasons of course. Both transport you to another place where real world worries seem to at least dissipate if not disappear altogether! And don't worry about how much of a "good time" you'd have at YNP....it's too spectacular for words, and I just don't think it's possible to NOT be in absolute awe virtually all the time!

The last time we (me, my DW and two DD's), we were approaching the Old Faithful Inn by car, and I said to my wife "Oh Wow! This reminds me soooo much of Disney World, doesn't it?" Just something about the anticipation of seeing something so spectacular! Disney's man-made and YNP, well.....isn't.

If you're interested in chatting about YNP at all, feel free to PM me any time! It's the only place in the world that creates the same level of excitement as WDW for me-and I could talk about it forever!!!
