How much time?

we are going for our first family trip in 2weeks. I'm pretty confident with all my planning except for how much time to leave for adr's.

We will leave after lunch for a break (I have a 1yr old). To get back to MK for dinner ADRs around 5pm what time should I leave AoA? I know about an hour for the bus, tack on 15min for the ADR but what about getting back through security or walking to the restaurant down Main Street?

Everything says to allow an hour for travel and we always do that. If you have an ADR at 5, I would be at the bus stop by 4.

In the evenings the security lines are usually pretty light. After the morning rush, people just kinda trickle in and out. You're also going in January, a slower time. Walking is the biggest issue. Note that the bus stops aren't always that close to the entry gates. It depends on where your ADRs are. Tony's Town Square is right at the front of MK, but Be Our Guest is about as far from the front as one can get. I'd give yourself a half hour (walking time) to be safe, though it likely won't take that long most of the time unless the ADR is in the back of Epcot.

Just back from AoA and it's about a 15 min. bus ride. Buses typically run every 20 min. during non busy times and AoA typically had the furthest stop from security so add about another 5 minutes walking time to the security area. It was very busy since it was Christmas time and it never took us longer than an 35 minutes for the whole process but I would be safe and plan for an hour.

IMO I wouldn't bother leaving the park on the day with CP at 4:50. You are supposed to be back for your ADR 15 mins in advance, so that's 4:35 which would mean you should be leaving your resort by 3:30ish to head back. If you don't leave MK until after lunch I'm not sure you will get much rest time out of that...

Bus drivers will tell you to leave 90 minutes just to be safe. Then you won't be rushed out stressed if there are any delays.
