How much time does it take for these 'lands'??

On an EE day in july, how long do you think it would take to do all of this?
Fantasyland (just dumbo, pooh, peter pan, snow white, and carrousel) then
all of toontown (no donald's boat) followed by
Frontierland (using FP for Jungle Cruise and doing Magic Carpets first). 3 hours, 5 hours? More?

Now that I know there will be eride, I'm trying to plan around the stuff I can do those evenings.

We went last year end of june first of july and it was tolerable crowds, less than past years from the experts opinions here. Maybe you'll be lucky and not have as many to deal with. That said our longest wait in fantasy land was for Dumbo. It just takes a long time to get people on and off and the ride seems long. I would get as much as possible done in fantasy land with fast pass if needed. Then barnstormer and toontown. You can fastpass Jungle Cruise. Best of luck, we ****love****all star movies. Pooh has very long lines early also. I give it 5 hours give or take for extraneous circumstances beyond your control.

I don't want you to get lost at the park -- Jungle Cruise and Aladdin are in Adventureland.

I can't really help you with your timing here since Fantasyland and Toontown are my family's lowest priorities. I will tell you that last summer we found Adventureland pretty empty near park closing time on an e-night and did both JC and Aladdin with no line.

Here's another piece of advice: I'm guessing you have small children. If you finish Fantasyland during ee time or are waiting on a fast pass time, go to Tomorrowland and do the speedway. It is not open during e night and is a terrible line during the day b/c it is totally uncovered and slow. Toontown does not normally open until 10 anyway. Also, make sure to keep an active fast pass at all times -- really helps your line time and will help you get extra rides. In our family, the person who does NOT need to go the bathroom often sprints over to get one for everyone.)

Wow. Thanks! As you can tell, I don't even know where the rides are so this will be our first trip!!!

We did the FP in Disneyland and did the entire park in 1 day!! So I know how great they can be. Of course, it was just my dd and I so it was much easier to do the dash to Space Mtn., etc.

Whatever you do, do Dumbo first and if you have two adults, line up at least 24 people apart so you can "baby/child swap" so they can ride twice but you only line up once

Dumbo is a great ride but takes forever to wait for once things get hopping since the whole ride has to stop, everyone off and then everyone on.

If you want to be "efficient" about which some people like to be have one adult go get fastpasses for Winnie and Peter almost right away and then when you are finished Dumbo go to the carrousel and snow white - with some luck after those you will be ready to use the FP and ride Pooh and Pan

aren't fastpasses issued 1 hour apart. If I get a FP for Pooh @ 8:15, won't I have to wait until 9:15 to get another one?

Or are you saying that I'll get Pooh that says 8:20 (@ 8:15) then just wait 5 minutes and get Peter Pan? Am I having an "a-hah!" moment?

I have held three FP's at once - required cooperation from my DW keeping DS going on the non FP rides to collect FP from Pooh/Pan and Buzz - lots of walking - it was great to do it's a small world and then the three FP's in a row and then onto the TTA for a rest for my legs (carried DS on shoulders)

Ahhhh, another first timer rushing from ride to ride ,forcing there kids to run and get FP, worrying that they're 1/2 hour behind schedule. My advice is SLOW DOWN. You sound like you have small kids, on our first trip to wdw we had our day all planned out too. Ride this first , ride that next, etc.... but you know what happened? Our kids wanted to stop and see Pooh, listen to storytime with Belle, spend extra time in Daisy's house. We then threw our schedule out the window, relaxed and did what the kids wanted at their pace. I've been to WDW dozens of time and everytime I go I see cranky kids being yelled at by cranky parents all because they spent X amount of dollars and are not seeing everything. Remember it's your vacation, the magic at WDW is in the details ,look around on your way to see it all and it might rub off on you........TAZ

I'm sure you had the best of intentions when you gave me your advice. I have two additional days afterwards scheduled for lazy days of show-seeing and character greeting/sit down lunches, etc. For Our first day in MK, MY KIDS are going to want to see and do as much as possible. I'm just trying to gauge how much I can do FOR them. Please don't lump me into a category of a cranky parent screaming at my tired children. I am sure it will be happy children coaxing tired parents onto just one more ride!

We've been to all the East Coast theme parks from Jersey to Virginia and my kids (even the 3 y.o.) are happy only when we open and close the parks. I know WDW is a whole different game but - as I said - I know my kids and I'm just trying to anticipate what we can do our first day out of the box.

Yep it was my first time and was going to MK for two of the days there so first day at MK was rush and dash to some extend and the second day was stop and smell the roses. Both worked great for the whole family - would not want to do either style for a whole trip

If you are there right at opening of EE you should be able to do Fantasyland completely by rope drop at 9.

Just by chance, we ended up at the entrance to Toontown for RopeDrop, which was at 9:00 am, as EE ended. Mickey and Minnie were there: they took DD's hand, let her parade between them to officially open Toontown.

We went straight to Barnstormer--and she got the first ride on it, with Goofy in the front seat.

A whole pile of characters were there, with her as their sole customer until the first train came in. We made it thru Minnie and Mickey's house with no line, and went on barnstormer again with no wait. Even after the first train came through, things were very quiet for about 20 minutes, then it filled up and became the lines from h** to see the characters. I would highly recommend it as our best time/heat cutting experience for our entire trip.By 10 it's a zoo (when it opens at 9.)

What I am getting to is that if your kids are attracted to the characters you will easily spend hours standing in line waiting for autographs that you weren't planning on -- while you watch the crowds get thicker and the early morning magic disappear.

If you play your cards right, you could get to Adventureland before 10. (If it were me, I'd take the train from toontown.) At that point, if your kids are go-getters, I'd allow at least 3 hours. There is a great deal of enchanting detailing and little "magic" that you want to take the time to savor. Don't miss the treehouse. Go to Tom Sawyer's island. Don't forget the tiki birds.

And, oh yeah, did I mention the characters? I guarantee 5 hours would go in a flash.

I'm sorry if you took my post personally, you are just making a first timer mistake. After rereading your original post the answer to your question is 4 hours 12 minutes and 46 seconds..... My advise still stands, your do everything one day, come back the next to do the rest wont work. Here's why, crowds ebb and flow on different days, attractions open and close early on different days and entertainment changes day to day. I don't doubt your an amusment park veteran but there is something different between your kid seeing Porky Pig and seeing Cinderella. And some of the less touted rides may be your childs favorite. My daughters favorite was the TIKI Birds and wanted to see it again right after we got done ( there was a minimal line) I said NO, its time to go to the FP line for the jungle cruise then see the tree house then ride the magic carpets THEN if there is time we can see the Tiki birds again. Well by then the lines were triple in length it turned out nobody liked the treehouse etc.....Slow down, let the kids be in the sword in the stone show, let them play in the tiki statue fountain. Did you know that if you get there early enough (before the gates open) you can ask a cast member if your child can open the park? They will take him/her inside the gates, make a speach, present them with a certificate and a hand full of pixie dust have them say the magic words that will make the gates open. After that ,they get a private ride down mainstreet in the old time fire engine. Of course all this takes time so you will now not be first in any lines and have just added about 1 1/2 hour in total time to your day. Most people miss this kind of stuff because they have one eye on their watch and the other on Birnbaums guide schedule. In the end, a roller coasters a roller coaster. The rides at all amusement parks are great . It's the details that makes WDW so much better than the rest.......Have fun......TAZ

right after the picture was taken (in my signature), my dd was chosen to open Disneyland the day we went. She got a sticker to wear all day and I got lots of cute pix of her "pressing the button" to turn on the music, etc. She got lots of extra attention from the characters because of it. And when we ran into the characters in DL, she demanded an autograph book and pen. We stopped and got autographs even though I hadn't "planned" on her doing this. I thought she wouldn't want to do that but I was totally ok with it. Since she was doing a broadway tour and making all the money to pay for the day, I let her pretty much do whatever she wanted anyway.

Tazdeb....I think this is fabulous advice for folks in general . I personally agree with you. I have a friend going next week who has cut out the "Dumbo or Die" touring plan from her book, copied it and laminated it for all members of her party to carry. If she could, she'd plan in 2 minutes intervals! When we go, we plan what park for each day and any PS's and the rest we take as it comes. We live in FL and can come back any time. If we don't see it this time, we'll catch it another time and we all want to have a good time and not be wiped out at the end.

That said, I think the OP knows her kids and their touring style and is planning Day 1 based on what she knows they are going to want to do that day. Many, many times we have planned one day of our Disney vacation to "open and close" the magic kingdom because my kids wouldn't have been satisified otherwise. Now we have a different style but that's just us.

Anyway, the answer to w8ing's question is.... I think you can certainly get Fantasy land finished in 1 1/2 hrs max(if you are there first thing on an EE day) The rest of it depends on things like what time Toontown opens that day(I haven't been able to get a straight answer) and that kind of stuff. If Toontown isn't open when you finish Fantasy land, head for Adventure land and you'll get Jungle Cruise, etc done before the lines start but you'll probably have to come back later for Tiki Birds (one of our family's favorites!)....I think that you could conceivable do all this before lunch with Toontown as your only variable...(it could take HOURS if there are big lines!)

trip report when you returned, so you can tell us what actually DID happen when you got to the Magic Kingdom

My son and I (he was 9 at the time) did what you are planning to do in August 2001. It can be done; and we had a blast doing it!

Back then EE was for 1 1/2 hours. We did all of FL rides except IASW (was down) we did the race cars and Buzz. At @9:00; right after using FP for Pooh; we got in line behind a CM with a rope and walked BEHIND the CM to Splash Mountain. I got a FP for BTMRR (At that time I also had one for Peter Pan) We rode SM. Went back and did PP. After PP got line for the first raft to Tom Sawyer's Island. Had a ball exploring and looking for a paint brush; no luck.

Took the boat back over, got a FP for JC; used first FP for BTMRR, then did everything in AL except the treehouse and POTC. When we walked into AL, we stopped for my son to get a picture and autograph with Captian Hook and Peter Pan.

All of this was done before 12. At 12 went to Pecos Bills for lunch. Before getting in the LONG line to order lunch, I went to HM and got a FP. By the time we were done eating it was time to use our FP.

We left MK the day at about 1:30-2:00.

That was the only day we did EE at MK. We did the other rides during afternoon and evening visits and during e ride night.

I know most people think it's crazy to "run around" like that.
But we enjoy it. I don't think trying to do as much as you can is a mistake. The big mistake I made on our first trip was not getting park passes that would allow us to enter a major park each day. We were there for a week but had 5 day park hoppers with 4 plus options. The rest days were nice, but by 4 or 5 I was done resting, I wanted to be in a major park.

Do all the planning and research you want, you and your family will have a blast!!!

Maybe my son and I will get to meet you all during our trip. He's 11
