We are going for 2 weeks at disney hotel with free dining 2 adults and 3 children age 9-7-4 how much do you normally take or think we need for each day?

now were is that piece of string i want to measure?
Take as much as you feel comfortable enough with and take a CC in-case your short
Paul

Everyone is different. Depends whether you are hitting the outlets or whether you are just staying in parks.

I never look at it on a day by day basis. We all take our own spending money in our family. My money will be on gratuity, extra food and whatever I buy at the outlets so I am taking about £700 and we are on the dining plan too:rotfl2: but I get paid when we are there so I can use more if I need to:rotfl2:

We are in a similar situation. 2 adults, 3 children on the ddp at a Disney Villa. I am going to do a Garden Grocer order before we go for basics like water. I will be taking two credit cards and my debit card (just in case) and will convert £300 into dollars next month.

I probably won't shop. If I see anything I really want, I will put it on the CC or the KTTW card. I will be paying gratuities and for bits and bobs in cash.

It's my first time, so I'm hoping that amount will see me through.:)

As paul says how long is a piece of string.
Depends if you into shopping, we are not but DS went mad this trip, bought Ipad, shoes, trainers, shirts, he spent about £700 but it was his 18th Birthday while there.
Do you dink alcohol with meals, want starters? all adds to the cost.

I haven't totalled ours up yet, got back last weekend but at a guess it will be in the region of £1300, thats for 21 nights free DDP at OKW and 3 nights offsite but it includes things like £75 for parasailing, $75 for birthday dinner extras like cake, drinks etc. we also spent quite a bit on new photo frames.

Thanks It is quite hard deciding we get paid day we leave so got a bit extra if needed I am planning to get an iPad but not including that in my spending money Where did you get your iPad from I was looking at going to the Florida mall.

we are on quick service dining so won't need to tip and we don't drink so that does save a lot so will just get a few souvenirs for kids and a couple of meals in restaurants and our breakfasts

Yes he got it from the Florida Mall Apple store.

You shouldn't need much at all if on the QSDDP. Will you have a car? we spend about £100 on petrol with trips to Cocoa beach, port Canaveral & Clearwater.

So worth getting from America any apple products. We don't have a car I will be getting a bus or taxi to mall and that will prob be our only visit I want to go to coco beach but can't get there unless there is a bus service

He bought the 32gb Wifi version, UK price £479, US price £407.
If that is the only thing you are going for then I would say no its not worth taking half a day out of your holiday to save £72 (less taxi/bus costs)
Probably better buying from John Lewis still £479 but comes with 2 year warranty free.
There is also a tiny risk of tax on arrival in UK, £390 limit, if you are pulled out it will cost you more than UK price. I thought we would be under the £390 limit(we were last year) but exchange rate wasn't great on th eday we bought.
Buy cheaper one then there is no risk of import dues but then the saving is even less on the 16GB version.

iPad 2 16gb wifi model
uk £329 (uk apple store)
Us $399 (from best buy)

Best buy & Apple store were same price, tax to add which makes it £272, £57 cheaper than UK. Nice saving if you have car to get it or going for other things but personally I wouldn't bother if that was the only item I was going to buy, its half a day of a holiday to save £57.

DW and I normally take £250 per week food (offsite, not on ddp, also covers for any high value dinners), £40 per week for parking and gas, and about £700 per week spending. Each. :rotfl:

Come back with most of the spending, but better safe than sorry, especially as we don't do credit cards!!! You can guarantee we will see a high value item we want to get if we don't have the cash with us.... last time glad we did as DW spent $200 on a new PnS camera for my xmas present, and i spent $475 + tax on a bracelet for her xmas present!

I am wanting to go to the mall for other things like pandora and ugg boots while I'm there so one trip should be fine saw that you can get a bus from down town Disney so that's not going to cost to much I don't think

We take very little cash - £100 per person. We usually have some left over. Credit card for everything.
We budget £25 per adult per day for food, drink, toiletries etc.

We don't tend to buys souvenirs (unless it's something we need anyway) and have found that the bargains for clothes and shoes are decreasing in recent years. We usually get a new pair of trainers each but to be honest, we could get them just as cheap in the UK now. I spent less than £50 last time on shopping.

I am still finding the savings worthwhile on trainers. Matt bought 2 pairs of these last month http://www.cloggs.co.uk/invt/80993902 £90 in UK, 2 pairs for $53 in US (£33.75) they were buy one get 50% off 2nd pair.
Probably depends on brand.

I'm taking $500 for the 3 of us for "just in case" mioney.
We've got the DDP and I'll be putting all my drinks / tips on the room so the card will pick that up at the end of the trip.
The car is taken care of with the card too as will any shopping.

Why am I taking the $500 again?:lmao:

For this coming holiday of 10 days it'll be me, DH and our 2 boys 16 and 14 we are staying onsite and have DDP. We only take a CC for emergencies so we've taking $4500. This will cover the 2 OOP meals we're having and for any other spending i.e Disney souvenirs and of course outlet shopping :rotfl2: and I LOVE shopping :lovestruc

The boys have saved their birthday and Xmas money and "odd job" money for the last 2 years and have got $550 each for anything they want.

I will be doing the Florida Mall, both premium outlets, walmart, publix and the Mall of Millenia!:) We take a far bit just for spending and some years we do spend it others we don't!
Anyway the 111 lynx bus goes from TTC then to DTD and its very quick to the Florida Mall and only cost a couple of $'s each way. We may get a week pass seeing as though we are going to the other malls as well.:) The bus stop is outside the Hilton Hotel right on the corner by DTD Market place..
