We are a family of 4 (3 adult eaters, 1 child eater).
We have AP tickets and are able to get the DDE card.
We do 1 sit down meal a day, dinner or lunch. The the other meal - snack bar type foods.
Breakfast is in our room -unless, 1900 Park Faire, Cindy's, Chef Mickey's or Cindy's.
Over 14 days - would we save about $100 ? $200 ?

Anyone ever calculate out how much they would or have saved ?
Thanks :cold: (it's freezing at outside our house tonight - snow for Christmas:) )

I did a quick calculation - at 1 sit down per day (maybe a breakfast and dinner one day) looks like we would save about $400. The minus the $50 - overall a $350 savings. Looks like the DDE is worth the money and effort.

A MUST! we do 11 days at the parks and with all our sitdowns and food court at ASMo--boy, we save A BUNDLE. There is no way you won't at least triple the savings...more likely you may save 10 times over with food, alcohol, etc. We like to eat at the nice places and 20% off the bill is a nice chunk of change. I like this so much more than the "free" dining plan--no menu items to haggle over, no food values to figure, no "have to eat" certain entrees or limitations....who wants to think on vacation :confused3 :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

On our recent quick 3 night trip for a party of 6 adults, we saved at least $75 as a conservative estimate (or around $25 net of cost of DDE)...basically used it for dinner at CG, dinner at Kona, and lunch at Olivia's. Eleven months and at least two trips left for more savings! Very happy to have purchased DDE.

IT's well worth the cost! We saved nearly $200 in our first use--and we're going two more times before it expires.

DDE card is another reason I like staying at the value resorts. Their food court is the only counter service restaurant that accepts the card. Especially great at Pop since their food court also has the large size snacks (1/2 gal oj, 2 liter coke, big bag tostitos) At All-Stars those are found in gift shop and they don't accept DDE card. Plus Pop's Classic Concoctions (the lounge inside) accepts DDE cards too, All-Star's doesn't. Hmmm why am I staying at ASMu? lol oh yeah a little less crowded than Pop. :)

How much you save will depend on how much you spend. ;)

Once you hit the $250 mark, you will have recouped the cost of the card. After that, it is gravy. I can't imagine a family of four not spending well over $250 for 14 nights of table service restaurants.

Have fun planning.

We just saved $40 a day using the DDE. It will pay for itself easy and quick!!!

We are going in February and with using this website giving prices of menus - we believe we are going to save over £200 for our stay. That is 2 adults and a teenager!

It is so good I almost cant believe Disney are doing this - giving something away!

I think it is the best bargain Disney gives. We saved with one meal alone at Ohanas $106.00. We do go in groups when we go down but still that is a large chunk of change. For us it really works.

Atleast 2 meals a day are sit down meals when we hit Disney and the DDE card was one of the best investments we have ever made. Our next trip in March '06 is for 14 days and I know the DDE card is going come in handy bigtime.

We are leaving on Friday for a last minute trip and will pick up our AP's at the first park we hit. We used to stop at Ocala but they are closed now.

Is stopping at the first park the best and easiest way to get our AP's AND to keep on topic, can we get a DDE card at the same time? Do they take care of contacting them or do we need to call etc? I think I read that you have to pick up the DDE autorization the next day after a certain time.

We will be there ten days this trip and probably the same or more next trip.

Thank you for any help.

hey guys, can someone explain what the DDE card is, -can anyone get it?
Thanks
Martin

With Family of 10 last May we saved over $600. :Pinkbounc

You have to be a resident of Florida or have an AP. With the AP you save $25.00 for the membership which will cost $50.00. You then get 20% off selected locations meal and drinks for one year. You get some additional discounts, I don't remember all of them but I know I paid 1/2 price for PI tickets too.

Now with the Buffet prices going up, you will recoup your savings even faster.
We figured that just dinner at Ohana and Boma will recoup our DDE card and it is savings from then on.

It is a dining/alcohol $$$ saving card that is only available to annual pass holders.

For those that don't have the AP the Dining Plan is the next best option.
