How much is your 2012 Disney Vacation costing this year?

My only trip this year will be a shorty. Surprising DW with a weekend getaway Nov. 30-Dec.2. Two nights in AOA lil mermaid (she will love it) because we are only there roughly 8 hours, I don't care where we crash. Deluxe Dining, airfare from Saint Lou. Segway tour. One day one park. All for the tidy of sum of $1800. Not a bad weekend.

Spent $10,00 last year to take MIL and my mom with us to AKL 1bed villa.
Changed jobs so having to do it much cheaper this year.

AOA LM room with 10 day tickets $3800. 11/22-12/2
MVCP tickets $245.

Got 100,000 rewards points for getting Southwest credit card for DH and I so flights FREE!

Quite an improvement over last year

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get such cheap airfare? I guess ours is only $100 more a piece and is out of AZO instead of GRR but $530 round trip is pretty decent IMO.

Honestly, we had just been very aggressively looking, and we got just plain lucky since we usually book airfare in January for a summer trip. My wife found that rate directly on United's website. She has found looking and booking on Tuesday afternoons to be the best price given.

Okay - I will make everyone feel better. Just for airfare it's costing us $3,000 per person so thats $6,000 for two of us just to get there! :rolleyes1
Part and parcel of living down under!

Hi kiwitinkerbell! We are paying $6633 ($U.S @ $5000) for 2 adults and 1 child to fly to Orlando. Really wish America was closer :) Although I'm pretty sure we paid more than that 2 years ago to only go to L.A so its not too bad. Really wish I was interested in the Gold Coast or Fiji but that's just not going to happen :)

RT airfare from Manchester, NH $1204

Airfare direct flights out of Manchester 1076.00

What airline are you flying out of Manchester? We live in VT, and are trying to decide whether to fly out of Manchester, Albany NY, or Burlington. Prices aren't released yet for Southwest for our dates, but they seem to be the cheapest, with no change fees.

Thanks for any info!

Southwest for me. We try to fly Porltand Maine since the airport is only 30 minutes away vs hour and 15 minutes but the flights have been cheaper out of MHT the past 2 years.

Southwest for us too! I only live 10 minutes from the airport so I wouldn't consider flying out of anywhere else for the convenience. :goodvibes

If we fly Southwest, we will have to fly out of either Manchester or Albany, they don't fly out of Burlington :sad2:

"mousemommy1" you did real well we have the same trip 4people (2 teens) WL free dining 10 day tickets with water park no hopping this year as we dont use enough (I might add it later when we get there if MK is Mehh due to construction) $4500 +900 air from boston. You got a better room CL with a discount can I say I wish I was you.
Next april cruise on the other hand thats a different story. Talk about out of hand. I will avoid that week next time. $7500 cruise air ect. Way... to much money. My only thought was kids going into high school and just a few more trips.
First trip to WDW 2003 with kids air hotel tickets ect $1500 total. WOW makes a difference when kids are adults.

We do spend $ on trips as I very rarely buy gifts for the kids anymore. 12 & 14 I would rather give them a memory. I did a test with them one year. Name 2 or 3 of the gifts you got for Christmas last year. One could the other could not come up with even 1. That was the last year. Now if you ask them they would say wdw this year. I wrapped a balloon to come out of a box. Next year it is the cruise. Maybe a small gift or two but very cheap ie under $20 total. I was actually thinking of excursions on vacation ie fishing in Bay lake or something. The only way I can get DH to go now is to stay at deluxe. He was fine with value for years (5) but once he had the taste of deluxe I could never get him to go back.

Thanks! I do think it's a decent deal, just still so much more than we usually spend, but yes, the memories are priceless. :goodvibes
We plan on doing a cruise when the girls are older.

We are the same way, even at our DDs age, they don't expect a lot of gifts at Christmas....they do, however, kind of expect to go to Disney every year. :lmao:
When we asked what they wanted for Christmas this past year, they said "save your money for Disney!!!". Love those kids!

My DH insisted on deluxe this time, our first time at deluxes....we usually do values...but it's for our 10 yr anniversary so I'll shell out...hope we love it!!

When the kids were little we only did value. We stayed at 3 or 4. I thought they were great mostly. DH wanted to try WL once you try it you may not ever want value again. It is surprising how much more relaxing the trip is. Enjoy your trip. When do you go? We are there end Aug

No matter what I do the trips always end up around 5000.
Free dining, AP's, YES tickets, Renting points, Discount codes.. still ends up at 5000. However what I do with that 5000 is the key.
We always find a way to go during value season. If we save money on tickets we stay at a nicer resort. If we save money by getting YES tickets and renting DVC points we stay longer or get the deluxe dining plan. The trip is always 10 days or more, and we usually throw in Universal as well.
We got AP's this year for Disney and Universal, so with that savings we are bringing dd's friend and paying for everything for her.

The 5000 covers everything for four of us.. and this time 5 of us. Tickets for Disney and Universal, onsite at Universal, room at Disney, food, tips, souvenirs, flight, rental car. I could spend less on some trips, but that seems to be the benchmark and I manage to spend right up to it most of the time.:rolleyes1

Last two trips were 2 adults, 1 infant. Now our infant is 4 so she's a ticket. Last 2 trips I was able to keep it at $2000 for everything (including air). Coming from the Pacific NW, not too shabby!

This year: 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.
Mid November
8 days @ POP century
6 day park hopper ticket
Free Quick Service Dining (yay!)
Total Package: $1811

2 free plane tickets from SW w/points (one ticket purchased at $375)

Total Cost is about $2200 but also using a $400 credit I've saved up on my travel card so only about $1800 out of pocket (or $2000 if we do MVMCP).

Got it back down to my $2000 goal, yay!!!

I feel a bit like I didn't get a very good deal somehow... (booked through Disney).

Sept 17-26

3 adults
POP Century
9 day MYW tickets
Free Dining (that we upgraded to deluxe dp)
Preferred room

$3,500

(this does not include airfare-2 of us are coming from Alberta, Canada and one from Aus)

Does that seem high to anyone else (especially since free dining)?

I think you're talking to me. :goodvibes
We are going in July this year.:scared: I know it's going to be hotter than Hades. We were supposed to go in Feb but the trip got pushed back because of DH mil duties. The good thing is that what would have been a 7 night trip in a mod, was able to morph into a 10 night stay at WL CL, because of the time of year. :wizard:

We are practically neighbors, BTW!! We are in Southern NH. :goodvibes about 20 mins from mass. Border
