Kelly,
That picture of your girls is SO cute.
Thanks so much. They had a Great time last year so we are doing it again this year.. Dh agreed it was well worth the cost.

Lemurone,
How did you get free dining at AOA?
Are you staying in a suite, or Little Mermaid room?
When did you book, if you don't mind sharing?
I tried for AOA, but couldn't get it with free dining.

We got FD at AoA as well, staying LM. Rooms opened up so we switched. For us, I think we booked it in the end of march?

You did really well with the airfare out of MHT. We are flying out of MHT in July with nonstops and are paying $1204 for 4 of us, which I still think is decent...I booked as soon as the fare became available, and now our same flights are over $1500!!!! :scared1:

ETA: that was supposed to be quoting KELLY...not sure what happened there...

Last year, we did 8 days 7 nights last week of September at POR with DxDP. I had a pin code for 40% off the room. With airfare, we paid about $3000.

I priced out the second week of December this year for 9 days 8 nights at CSR with no dining plan (hoping for free dining), and it's pricing out around $2600 plus airfare, so probably about $3200. Its also a different, more expensive time of year. So I guess not too bad. We are spending one more night than our 2011 trip, but we will be getting MUCH less food also. A trade off I suppose!

Wow, this thread is so interesting to me! I am a very new AAA home based agent, so it's more like running my own business with AAA backing (they don't give me any clients) and so far I have had mostly bare bones trips booked!!

Not soliciting or anything, just wowed that there are people out there willing to spend the big bucks on trips!! More power to ya!! Hope I see some clients like that soon!

Personally, we are spending less this year than last b/c we opted for BC over Poly b/c it was less expensive. In the past we have gone MK view at the Poly for 6 nights and paid about $5,000 (including flights). But this year I have spent a lot of money starting up my business and I did spend $400 to go to training (which was NOTHING compared to what I got out of it!) so we had a bit less in the vacation fund.

Its our first trip but I think I did pretty good...
4 bedroom pool home rental-$720 for 8 nights
5 day water park and more tix for 3 of us-$580ish from disney yes program
Gas-$250 estimate
Universal 1 day tix for 3-$250ish
If we rent a car I am estimating $2-250 for that, not sure if we are renting or taking our car yet though
Food and extras-$5-600?? Really have no idea what to budget for food lol.

Total: $2300-3000, hoping not to go over 3k

Airfare from Kalamazoo, MI - Delta
$734.40 combined

Total: $3,403.94.

If we flew out of Detroit or Chicago the airfare would have been about $200 less but the convenience of flying out of our home town is worth that. Plus, it's our Honeymoon so we figured this trip would be the one to splurge on :cool1:

<EDIT> I forgot the San Diego hotel stay so I added it in :)

I've yet to book anything (will do once Air Tran's November schedule comes out in a couple weeks), but our annual vacation budget is $2,000, so I'm trying to keep it as close to that as possible :rolleyes1

Nov 24 - Nov 30
Just me and DH

DVC Rental (Boardwalk Villas or Old Key West Villa): $768
Flights: $420
Quick Service Dining Plan: $420
Park Tickets (going to Universal for one day): $620 (approx.; not sure exactly how many days I'll be buying just yet)
Extras (van to Universal, food at Universal and at airport; airport parking, etc.): $120

Total: $2,348 - obviously hoping to shave off a bit to come in at budget

---1 adult staying 4 nights at ASSports, June 4 - June 8 at AP rate = $466.48
---park tickets = $235 (for 5 pro-rated days on annual pass)
---airline ticket = $0 (used reward points)
---food, tips, souvenirs = $300
---minus $100 credit from Disney Visa card

Total for 5 park days/4 nights = $901

This trip would have been even cheaper had I been able to go a couple weeks later in June when the room rates go down for a special offer or if I wanted to deal with Free Dining but I don't!

We are going

Nov 29 to Dec 8
CBR with a POTC themed room
DDP
6 day base ticket.
The cost is $4288.11

We haven't booked our airfare yet as SW still hasn't opened up the rest of the year until next month. I'd like to compare SW with JB first before deciding which airline.

However, when all is said and done, our package will be almost $1400 :woohoo: We've been part of a vacation bowling league for 2 years now. Once we end on June 10, we'll have a total of $1500 credits saved with the travel agent that runs the league (that's both years combined). All of that money is being applied to our package cost. Couple that with free dining which will save us about $1300 more for my family of 3 and that brings our package price down. Currently, we don't have a pin code, so we'll either have to wait until we get one or when FD is released to the GP (which ever comes first).

So our breakdown is this:

Package: $4288.11
Minus Bowling league credits: $1500.00
Sub Total for new balance: $2688.11
Minus free dining cost: $1391.58
Final Balance Due: $1396.60
Since we are arriving the day before Pop Warner, we will be able to have free dining for our entire stay! Can't beat it :thumbsup2!

Me, DW, DD3, DD2, DS6mo go back to WDW
Offsite + APs + Drive from Memphis
Total: ~$2384.53 (using some cc rewards pts)

2012 Dec 14-18
Me & DW celebrate our 6th Anniversary at WDW
Possibly onsite + APs (hoping for good AP discounts) + Fly from Memphis
Total: ~$1795-$2305 (no cc rewards)

2013 Apr TBD
Me, DW, DD4, DD2, DS1 go back to WDW and squeeze every last penny out of our APs :)
Offsite + APs + Drive from Memphis
Total: ~$2739.54 (no cc rewards)

For us, the high cost of flying out of Memphis, plus the general hassle of taking little ones through security, has ruled out flying with the kids. We'd rather stay offsite and go more often than pay the premium to stay onsite.

June 25-July 1

DVC: BCV and BLT...own $0
AP (prev purchase) $0 DD ticket 4 day military/hopper/WP...$160ish
Airfare from Boston: FF miles $37...
Food Budget $500

Total...$537

This is the only reason DD and I are getting away with this trip!!! It's my 3rd this year.
