Last Mon June 3 we left our room at POR, early and in a hurry to go to MK for one day. We only stayed one night at POR.

When we got back to POR around 530pm, to get our car, we realized that we had left DS's 2 pillows (that are in different colored pillow cases, not white) in the bed.

We drive up front, speak with a very unhelpful CM at concierge. They don't know anything about it.....no advice on what to do, couldn't care less.

Tues. I called POR, and left a message with lost and found. Also, to let them know that I would be in Orlando until Sat. and could come back by to pick up the pillows. Thursday I called back and spoke to someone in lost and found at POR. Again...nothing.

So my question, do you think this week, back at home, WDW will send the pillows back? I have heard of others saying that WDW sent their items back. I really don't care anymore, though it is a little frustrating. Plus, his pillows had cases that match his bedding. I just don't get how something as big as pillows could get lost that quickly.

Just for fun, what do you think will happen? I will let you know the outcome.

If it went to L&F - 80%. If it got thrown in with the rest of the laundry and sent to Textile Services - 1%.

Here are my 2 experiences. Hopefully your will go as well.

1. stuffed animal picked up by mousekeeping by accident
We were staying at the Polynesian. Despite me telling my kids not to leave their stuff on their beds, one of my kids left her stuffed bunny on her bed (she was using the day bed). Her bunny is off-white and the sheets are white. Mousekeeping was changing the sheets that day and didn't notice it and it ended up mixed in with the sheets. When we got back to our room and couldn't find it, we went to the lobby in the Hawaii building (we were staying CL so it was easier than the front desk but front desk would have worked too) to find out who to call. They had a CM come help us move the day bed so we could look behind it just to be sure it hadn't fallen down there, which it hadn't. We were told that if it went to lost and found it wouldn't show up until the next day. We called Mousekeeping to see if they could find it. Over the next couple of days I spoke with people from L&F, Poly's laundry area and the overall WDW laundry area. None of them had seen it. I was then told that sometimes things don't show up in laundry for a week so I should try again. We went home without the bunny. I called a week later and spoke with somebody in laundry. She looked around her facility and found nothing. She sent somebody to the resort laundry facility and there it was. She took a picture of 2 different bunnies for me to check and one of them was my DD's bunny. PHEW! In our case, it was a huge deal since my DD's autistic and this bunny at the time was her comfort object but luckily she trusted Disney to find it so she wasn't in a panic (I was but tried to hide it). She sent it out to us that same day in a Priority Mail box.
Moral of the story: Keep calling mousekeeping & laundry and it'll probably show up.

2. hat lost on ride
One of my girls had her hat fall off in the middle of the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin ride. She and DH went to a CM at the exit to tell her the moment they got off the ride. They don't pick things up from inside the rides until after the park closes (makes sense as it would be dangerous) though they often don't even go into the rides to check for stuff. We were told that if it was found that it would be at the front of the park after the park closes. We went to Guest Services before leaving the park to find out what time to check. He said that it wouldn't get there until a while after the park closes but that if it's found it would be sent to Lost & Found at TTC overnight. The next day, we went to L&F at TTC (we were staying at Poly and spent the morning at Epcot so we were already at TTC therefore it wasn't even out of our way). The hat was there.
Moral of the story: When they find things, CMs do sent them to L&F.

We lost a shoe last time on the Buzz Lightyear ride. A shoe!!! Who takes off a shoe??? Anyhow... it was about 8:00 and the park closed at 9 or 10 so they told us there would be no hope for them finding it that night. Next day we checked on Main Street and they said it wasn't there and if it had been found the evening prior it would be at L&F. So we journey all the way there and after 30-45 mins are informed they don't have it. We had one day left on our trip and checked again the next day but no luck.

It was our youngest child and short of going to Downtown Disney - the replacement shoe options are pretty slim. Best we could find was a set of crocs that were a size too big.

I left a key in a resort room and I had to call lost & food for the resort, but they had it and mailed it back to me. I think the biggest issue with your item is that it was a pillow and it might have been mistaken for a resort item. In that case, as longrf01 said, if that happened, it's unlikely to show up at lost & found. I would call again and ask, but if they don't have it by now, my guess is that won't be there or won't show up for a very long time.

I hope you get your pillows back-keep calling.

We had one item that was lost and never found but Disney still went the extra mile. DD's autograph book must have fallen out of her stroller when I folded it for the train ride to Conservation Station early on in our trip. I checked with L&F almost every day-in person-and it was never turned in. What bothered me most about it was that meant that someone picked it up and kept it-why would someone do that?

Anyway, the bummer was was that it was the book we had been using for the past years, inc. her first trip. A week or so after we got home we got a package from Disney. No, it wasn't DD's book but it was a new autograph book completely filled with every autograph you could imagine. It was just another reason why I love Disney! They didn't have to send us a new one. pixiedust:

Lesson learned-don't use the same autograph book for multiple trips. Get a new one each trip. Just in case! ;)

My DM did lose her cel phone at Disneyland once and they found it and mailed it to her. :)

As much as I would have in lost and found anywhere else. Which means it's a crap shoot. Either the item was turned in, or it wasn't.

Pillows, unless they were special pillows that could be readily distinguished from the resort's pillows (probably not just by different color pillowcases), probably not going to be turned in. I don't know if the housekeeper would necessarily assume that the guest had brought their own pillows.

We have lost everything from cameras to blankets over the years. Never had one item located in all that time. Good Luck though!

Oops, I thought I was in the Resort thread :rolleyes1

Lets see, pillows left at their RESORT hmmmmmmm?

For us it was a yes. We had left our video camera and a CM found it and turned it in to lost and found. Now if a customer found it, I would not know.

Just had a great experience with Lost and Found 2 weeks ago.

DS9 lost his ITouch in a bathroom at AK near the safari. The only reason we let him bring it that day was that he really wanted to take some pictures of the safari. :headache: We realized it about 10 minutes after he lost it. DH ran back but it was gone. We really thought it was lost forever. We called lost and found and gave them our info - the next day they called and it had been turned it! Needless to say it was locked up in the safe for the rest of the trip. ;)

Unless the pillows are extremely distinctive it's unlikely they'll be returned, especially if the pillowcases are removed. If the pillowcases are clearly different from the ones used anywhere in DW you have a better chance that those might be returned.

We've lost 3 items and all three were found and returned to us.

We left a camera at the bus stop at the YC one time. We realized it about halfway to the MK so I took a bus back and fortunately a CM had found it.

My DH lost his hat on a ride and it was turned into the lost and found the next day.

We left a set of keys in the safe of our room at AKL. We didn't miss them until we arrived home 10 days later and needed to open the front door! Fortunately another person in the family had a house key. We called AKL and perhaps because it was an item left in the safe, they still had them and hadn't sent them to the general l & f. They were overnighted to us.

Gosh, this post makes us sound pretty forgetful! :rotfl2:

I'm wondering if maybe housekeeping thought you put your own pillowcases on their pillows. It's not uncommon, especially if people have allergies to certain detergents/bleaches, etc. People bring their own blankets often as well. If housekeeping suspected this and found you left the pillowcases behind, I would guess that they would have separated them from the pillows by now. I'd think you'd have more of a chance getting the pillowcases back than the actual pillows.

We left my husband's PSP game system in the safe along with a set of keys (they shipped it all to us because we didn't remember until the drive home), and then we lost our bag with money and everything in Magic Kingdom one time. Both were recovered without anything stolen. :thumbsup2

We have GREAT faith in the lost and found there!!:worship:

We managed to get a stuffed Elmo retrieved from the laundry a couple of years ago. My then 12yo (she'd slept with it since she was a tiny baby and only recently stopped taking him on vacations :rotfl:) left in in our room at the Poly the day we checked out and realized it around lunchtime. I called the hotel and spoke to housekeeping immediately because it was so important to her . . . didn't get much help . . . front desk was even less helpful when we returned for Magical Express. But dh made some calls a few days later, finally got through to a central laundry facility, I think, and they had him. We were stunned. So my advice is to keep trying if it's important to you.

Oh, and on the same trip our younger dd left a necklace containing every tooth she'd ever lost. I didn't even know she had brought it, but she had a loose tooth and didn't want to be without it if the tooth came out. :rotfl2: It was a cheap plastic container on a plastic string that the school nurse hands out when kids lose teeth there. Unfortunately, I suspect the housekeeper just thought it was trash.

I lost my $500 prescription glasses somewhere in Fantasyland. After a day I went to the TTC lost and found, and found my glasses. I had to sort through 3 large bags of glasses but I found them.:cool2:

I lost my camera on the Dino ride. I got it right before the trip and had absolutely no ID on it. I didn't even know what brand it was. Thankfully someone had turned it in and they were able to look at the pics on it to determine that it was mine. I was so grateful because those pics are precious memories.

I believe! So yes vote. My experiences weren't with bedding though. 3 times one of my daughters lost something, from teen years to adult! And all 3 times items were returned.
Incident 1- teen daughter took off her bracelet in Narcoossee's restroom to wash her hands. Didn't realize till we got back to CBR. Phoned GF right away. Bracelet located, and the next day when we returned from park it was in a box on the bed!!

Incident 2- older daughter leaves her beach dress behind bathroom door at POR. We had a split stay and just got into our new room at WL. Phoned POR housekeeping, dress found and sent on to WL later that day!

Incident 3- same daughter! Goes on Space mountain and puts her purse on bottom of car. Purse falls out of ride. Glasses and her cell phone in it :sad2: Good thing her passport was in the room safe! It was our last day.
Went to CM in Space Mtn and then went to City hall to file report. 2 weeks later purse arrives home!

So we have had good experiences with returned lost items. I hope you get your pillows back.
