My experience:

DD8's zippered pink hoodie went missing from our Poly room when mousekeeping came in to clean. And yes, I am 100% positive the hoodie was in the room when we left (was just the 2 of us) and 100% positive it wasn't there when we returned.

I called lost & found & mousekeeping and had no luck getting it back. I continued to call daily and followed up when we returned home. I was very detailed about what the hoodie looked like. They had a different hoodie they found (tan in color, no zipper) but I made it clear it wasn't ours. A few days later, someone else's tan hoodie arrived in the mail. :headache:

I wish you luck with having your items returned to you. It is really nice to see others with things having been returned to them as I had no such luck.

I lost an item on a recent trip and never saw it again. It was an expensive piece of electronics so I kind of figured I would not see it again.

I think it really all depends on if an honest person finds what you have lost and thus it arrives at L+F.

I also think the marketability or value of what is lost plays into the outcome as well, (ie. a thief will pick up a lost camera with the thought of reseling it where as he will probably not pick up a hat and thus the hat will still be there when an honest person comes along where as the camera will be long gone).

It depends on the housekeeper. You would have to hope that the pillows didn't get bundled up with the rest of the linens and tossed in the laundry, it would be more of a long shot then. However, if the housekeeper noticed that those pillows didn't belong, you have a much greater chance of getting them back.
I've had the following mailed back to me after reporting them lost on a trip- three pairs of goggles in a sand pail, a DVD that was left in a player- for which I had the case with me, a stuffed lion, flip flops, and a stitch Star Wars pin.
All from different trips- apparently we have a hard time keeping a hold of our stuff on vacation, lol.

As much as I would have in lost and found anywhere else. Which means it's a crap shoot. Either the item was turned in, or it wasn't.

Exactly. When something is lost all that can be done is to report it to L&F describing the item in as much detail as you can and giving your contact info. If the item gets turned in you'll get it back (as long as it can be reasonably shown to be your property) and you won't if its not turned in.

The CM at the concierge desk would have little ability to do anything other than say contact L&F. It's your property and you must provide the info about it. Talking yourself to L&F yourself was exactly the right thing you could do. Hope you get the pillows back but it really depends entirely on who found your pillows and what they did with them

I hope the pillow cases are notice because they have a different pattern than plain white.
Please call WDW general # and tell them what you are missing. A picture of the pattern may help them too.

My DH left his camera on Buzz. We came back 30 minutes later and a guest who rode in the same seat as my DH, turned the camera in to the CM.
We thanked the CM and he refused a tip ($$'s).

Good things do happen in WDW...much different than a major city in the NE.
In the NE - the camera would have been pocketed and sold for cash.
