How much do you think 38 lbs of coins will amount to?

Not as much as 38 pounds of bills (especially $100 bills).

I will guess $504.79 (that's my birthday)

OP here...still trying to find a place that will count them all, and not take so much of it!

Cheapest I've found is 3 percent.

I'll keep everyone posted!

I have a coin -sorter-counter-roller I bought at Sam's club for around $30. (not sure what they cost now) It is my kids favorite thing to do - putting the coins in and rolling them. You have to move a little slow so that it doesn't jam, and you HAVE to make sure that just U.S. coins are going in and not chucky Cheese tokens or anything else that made it to the jar from your pocket change...but it really makes the job easier and you don't have to pay anyone a percentage.

Oh, the birthday is a good idea....

My guess...$517.90. (My son's birthday)

I'm going with his since his birthday is in 2 weeks. As a backup I'll say $409.92 and $917.98 (2 daughters)

:confused3 What? I can't leave everyone out...lol. My birthday is in January and we all know it's more than $107.70 :D

Ya know, you can take it all to one of those coin counting machines.

It will tell you the total first and then ask if you want to cash out or return it.
I think those take 3% also, so then you wouldn't have to roll it :)

Have you checked your bank? Mine has a coin-counting machine that is free for account holders. They actually won't accept rolled coins.

Do you have BB&T in Florida? Our BB&T branches all have free coin counters, and you do not need to have an account there.

Based on the weight of each individual coin in grams....then converting it to ounces.......if it was a *perfect* mix of coins.....it would be $453.05. So, that's my guess. :)

Of course, I know I'll be wrong, but figured I'd give it a shot.

:rolleyes1I think maybe the OP is counting it themselves? :confused3

Read where someone figured that their mixed coin jar ended up about 11.25 per pound.
Maybe about 428.00?

Bumping this because I figured that the OP should have an answer by now!!!

Did I win??
