OK ,I told my friend that we are going to the world in may ,and I just booked again for October ,and that we wanted to Go again in Feburary ,She said "How much Disney can You Take,I Just don't get it" "you guys are crazy"that makes me kinda sad :sad1:(that she doesn't get it) has this happened to you ,I know I am Not crazy ,If I am, I know I am not alone!:goodvibes I will get her crazy someday!:rotfl:

It happens to all of us that go every year, or more than once a year.

As to how much is too much, everyone's opinions will differ.

We have been going at least once, sometimes twice a year for over 25 years.

This past year we went 3 times and it was too much.

I have a friend who recently visited DL for the first time since she was a baby. She came hoe gushing about it! She said she had thought Disney was for little kids and she went on and on about how magical it is there.

One the other hand I had a boyfriend who decided he hated Disney before we got there and he runined DL for me that weekend. :furious:

Thank goodness I found a real man who will was and is more than happy to share my love of Disney:love:

There was never enough when Pleasure Island / Adventurers Club was open. That added a whole new dimension of entertainment.

We now go 2-3 times a year. One of those trips is both WDW and DLR.
When the AC was open, we were 3-4 times a year.

We bought into DVC to relax the parks are extra perks! I am a nurse and I am happy just to slide down the KV slide watch the animals and sit in the hot tubs.

I get the same thing from people. They say "aren't you tired of going yet?" I say how can you get tired of something you love??? :confused3

I feel the same way about vegetarians... more steak for me. :woohoo:LOL.

Funny story...I just read this thread to DBF who is sitting next to me and the first thing he said was "are you gonna say something bad about me on the disboards?!" :lmao: He says this because he isn't such a big fan. Don't get me wrong, he likes it, but isn't enthusiastic about going to the parks, although he's not against it, it will never be his idea first. He is more of a DCL/Pixar kind of guy :dancer: <-----That's him! lol We are actually setting up our next DCL on the Dream next March as I write this. I'm showing him the Aquaduck and he's soooo excited for it :yay: He says "We're gonna get on that first thing when we walk on the ship!!" :rotfl:

But my point is...when we first started dating in the 10th grade, which was 5 years ago now, he wasn't too fond for my love of Disney, but what 16 year old HS varsity football player really is? :rotfl2: Now that we are older and we can go on cruises, and go to the parks when we want he kind of likes it. Before now he would ask "you and your mom are going AGAIN?! Don't you get tired of seeing the same stuff?!" It's not the same "stuff". I've been going to WDW several times a year since birth and I STILL haven't seen and done EVERYTHING.

And people that don't "get" Disney don't understand that fact. You go back for the memories, for the fun, for the time spent with loved ones...not to do the same things over and over. Every trip is a different experience and the memories you bring home with you are rarely ever the same.

So for me, there is no such thing as too much. For me, it's never enough. :cloud9:

Never enough. Went in Sept., again in November....trying to get there in May, and have a week planned again next November. :cloud9:

Nah, it doesn't really bother me. Every one has different taste. I have friends that go the the Jersey shore religiously year after year.
I generally don't try to convert people.

My problem is not that I get tired of Disney it's that there is so much out there that I also want to see. Only so much time and money. So this year we are giving up Disney and heading over to Paris (I may try to sneak in a DLP day though :goodvibes). I also want to see some of the National parks, I've heard Yellowstone, the Grand tetons and Grand Canyon are absolutely stunning.

I'll know I'll be back to disney very soon but for now, it's off to see the great big world.

HAHA!!! I used to be one of those people!!! I was 37 when I went for the FIRST time, and then I got it... We went in Dec, are going in June and Halloween and then on a cruise Nov 7th!!!

We have relatives that go at least 3-4 times per year, and we used to think they were crazy before WE went, and now I totally get it! People have a perception of DW who have never been there, or haven't been there in years, that it's just for little kids and only so much to see. There is so much to do and see and just the hotels alone are reason enough to go I've learned! Like others have said it's a personal preference, I LOVE vacations therefore I go on many more trips than my friends, on the other hand my house is not decorated to a tee and I don't buy expensive clothes, etc, I choose to spend it on expensive vacations, and most of my friends choose to spend their $$ on things I just said. I wouldn't want to go to DW more than 2 times in a year though, that's just me.

For me, it doesn't take a whole lot of Disney to be too much anymore.

More and more accomodations with no new additions to the park = larger and larger crowds. Steaming heat. Screaming kids. Bickering families. :wizard:

The ticket prices and food prices are completely rip offs now which makes *me* feel like I need to go, go, go to recoup some of the investment.

And then there's little Brice. ( I'll never forget him ) who chased a poor family of ducks around with a stick, tried to kick them and just basically harrassed them chasing them across the outdoor eating area ( in AK ) Meanwhile, I got to listen to "Brice come back. I mean it. Don't make me count to three or you get time out. One two I mean it Brice, right now come back!" And it went on and on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnn. And Brice never went back to the table to eat. Nor did he leave the ducks alone.

I have since sold all my BWV points and own exclusively at HHI. If I want a short trip to WDW I book at 7 months.

:lmao:
I'm sorry, I know it wasn't funny for you or the ducks. But thanks for making me laugh this morning. I can so see this Brice kid in my head while reading your post. I can see how this could ruin your dining experience.

As for OPs question... hmm... too much for us would be when our bank account can't support the trips anymore... :lmao:
DH knows as long as we can afford vacations, Disney will be the first place we go. At least once a year. And then after that he can choose another location. But AFTER we get our Disney fix for the year... :thumbsup2

Our 10mo DD can already pick out Mickey and Pooh pictures anywhere we go (toy stores, grocery stores, etc.). I guess we kinda brainwash her too well...

In an ideal year, we will do one cruise and one parks trip. More than either is too much Disney for us. With that said, DH would say that my being on The DIS every single day is too much Disney... :rotfl:

Right there with ya with both our boys! And that's what we call it too...the "brainwashing". Both my boys DS6 & DS2 are Disney fanatics.

But, we only go around once a year to 18 months. With only 150 points and a limited budget, we make do. I would probably go more often if we could afford it but DH might not like that. He's not quite as Disney crazy as I am but he does enjoy our trips. Last trip was Feb/March 2009 and we're heading down this June so only 15 months or so between trips this time.

We know a lot of people who go to the same beachfront condo every summer, so for us this is really no different. We're not beach people--we're WDW people. :cool1:

We were there in October for F&W, in December for a cruise and the holiday decorations, in January to get out of the cold here in WI, we go next week for my birthday, will go again at the end of April for another cruise/park week, and then back in October for F&W, and in December for another cruise and week at the parks...

No, we don't go too much...

People here tell me I ought to move to Florida if I love it so much. I only love it in Oct-April. I hate the heat in the other months.

How much Disney is too much? Hmm, I wouldn't have a clue!!! ::MinnieMo::MickeyMopluto::tinker::simba::donald::dumbo::goofy::smickey::mickeyjum

But I'll let you know if I ever find out........

In 2009 we were there twice, once with the kids (ages 22 and 25) and in Oct. DH and I went for F & W. We went with the kids in Jan of this year, and we froze, we did enjoy our 2 bedroom at VWL during Jan, but we are going in May for a week since we feel we missed the pools and minature golf, and the parks at nite. I also booked three nites in Oct again for DH and I for F & W.

DH said to me the other day do you know in a 12 month period we will have gone to Disney FOUR TIMES !!. We don't usually go this many times per year, but we usually go two times per year.

There is always something different to do, and we drive so we always stop at different places along the way. We have great memories of the kids growing up with Disney. Sometimes I think they are more Disney crazy than I am. :yay: I too get the people that think we are crazy, but I know they just don't get it. I love my accomadations and the resorts. We can go to parks, swim, minature golf, eat and shop.
