How much did FD save you?

i've just checked our booking for next year and we will-according to disney-save $2588.88,which is a big wowser

however, we are one of those rare families (or crazy!) who do not actually use all our credits.

we've had free dining 3 times,number 4 coming up next august.

twice we had ddp, and last month had qsdp for the first time.
we much preferred this-no being tied to adr times and having the refillable mug was great.
however, still too much food for us-we had 21 credits remaining-but used our snack credits on yummy candy to bring home.

Free dining saved us over $1500 last month and really was terrific. I love not having to penny pinch and budget for each meal. Praying for free DD.for 2013 !!

It depends how many people are in your party and whether you are at a deluxe or not. Two people in a deluxe room with a 35% discount is a pretty good value. A family of four in a deluxe room usually makes free dining the better option.

My husband and I stayed at the BC with a 33% room discount and saved over $500 on the room. Free dining wasn't available for that trip. I kept track of my food expenses and spent about $140 less than we would have if we had gotten the dining plan.

Free Dining saved our family of 4 $1,187, which was better than the room discount in a Garden View room at the Poly. This is before we go in November so I think the number is actually greater than the $1,187 off the top because the dining plan is already a savings off the regular food prices.
