How Many Trips Can I Milk?~A PTR

Sat. (the day before we left)

The feis was fabulous. Here are some pics from Faith's debut.

Later that day we met up with friends who were in town, and we got to hold this cutie!

Sun. (the day we left)

Clearly we had perfect weather on our drive to Savannah!

DSCN1745.jpg

But braving our way through the weather was worth it...we absolutely LOVED Savannah!

DSCN1758.jpg

We didn't get to do this, but I wanted to!
DSCN1767.jpg

We did take a ghost tour. It was too much fun and too spooky!

If one were inclined, one might think those circles in the pic above are "spirit orbs". But I have my doubts...;)

Savannah was truly beautiful. That's a city I would definitely visit again.

Now I'm off to finish making a vodcast that I have due on Sat. (This is for a program I do that's sponsored by my school district.)

I want to do that too!

I'm a big fraidy cat, I'm not sure I could handle that!

Glad your trip was so much fun!

Faith is so cute.

And the baby is adorable!

I'd love to visit Savannah.

So sorry your spring break is over.

When does school end for you?

those are some awesome pictures! Faith looks adorable!! It looked like you and DH had a good time in Savannah. I would love to go there someday!

Hooray! I am glad you enjoyed Savannah! The ghost tours are always a lot of fun! Looking forward to reading more about your spring break trip!

Welcome Home!!!!! I hope you had a great time.

Good luck catching up on all the PTR/TRs.......

I hope Botox is feeling better....

I think I am actually STRESSED trying to get caught up! From now on, only vacations where internet is available! :surfweb:

Welcome Home! :cool1:

It's good to be back!

After an eleven hour drive, I think I'd curl up on the couch and let the unpacking wait until tomorrow!

Miss Botox will want your attention, too, of course.

You know, she was bizarrely calm when she saw us. I am beginning to think she either (A.) is angry at us for leaving her, (B.) has forgotten us in only a week's time, or (C.) likes living with DMIL better.

P.S. She's currently chewing on a bone quite contentedly and is paying me no mind.

Welcome home! We missed your witty posts this week! Can't wait to hear all about your Spring Break Road Trip!!! :goodvibes

We had a great time. I'm afraid I will not be able to be witty until I get all caught up on these PTRs. I knew I was in for trouble when I clicked on NativeNYer's, and she had 30 new pages! :scared1:

Welcome home!!! I hope Miss Botox is fully recovered. Can't wait to hear about your road trip popcorn::

She is doing well. Thanks for asking! I will try to make the road trip entertaining.

Welcome Back....how are Miss Botox's paws???

She goes in tomorrow for staple removal. (That sounds serious, but it evidently is a whole lot of nothing.)

Welcome Back!:cool1:

Baby lust setting in?

Is it just me, or does anyone else hear that clock ticking? ;)

When does school end for you?

It officially ends that first week of June. BUT I have 3 WEEKS of post-school meetings/conferences/nonsense to go through before I am set free.

those are some awesome pictures! Faith looks adorable!! It looked like you and DH had a good time in Savannah. I would love to go there someday!

It was such a neat/beautiful city. It also houses a restaurant that made the BEST bbq chicken pizza I've ever tasted. Mmmmmm......

Oh, the two of you look dangerously at ease with that little bundle of cuteness! :goodvibes

My favorite thing is how the baby has her arm holding up her head when DH has her. She's got quite the "you all are boring me" look going on there.

I feel the need to add a few details to my previous post...

1. Tell me if you think this is weird and how you would have handled this. I was baffled. So my good friend with the baby was over at our house that Sat. before we left. She had been breast feeding the baby on our couch. She and I had been chatting, and I had no problem with her feeding the baby in front of me. She was covered up, and goodness gracious, we're all girls. It was at this point that DH came home through the front door. Now I'm sure he knew what was going on, but he sat down at the dining table that was in the connecting room. He certainly wasn't looking right at my friend (as neither of us were), but she says to him, "Ummm, I'm going to need you to turn ALL the way around while I feed my baby."

I was shocked. What did she think? DH is such a sicko that he was trying to get a peek? This is HIS house. Shouldn't she have excused herself to go into another one of our rooms if she felt truly uncomfortable? Am I missing something here? We don't have babies (obviously). Should DH have instinctively known to head straight for an enclosed different room once he realized what was going on? Am I crazy for letting this annoy me?

2. Savannah maybe has the best restrooms of any large(r) city I've been in. (JORDAN PAY ATTENTION!) It is a tradition of mine (warning: TMI ahead) to become sick to my stomach on the first day of EVERY vacation, and so I'm forced to rate such things. All of the facilities I visited: restaurants, Starbucks, stores, etc...scored rather high on the flush scale. And yes, I am feeling much better thank you.

3. Creepy ghost tour happening: So, our guide was a young-ish guy who clearly just does the ghost tour thing on the side. I don't think he believed half of the stuff he was saying, and he seemed unsure of many landmarks people would ask him about (aside from his exact tour route).

I didn't have much faith in this guide, and I thought we'd probably thrown our money away. That was until he told us this: Apparently when the tour stops at the local cemetery, people often have trouble with their cameras. They'll start the tour with fresh batteries, but as soon as they near the cemetery, they notice their battery level will become lower, or their camera will just shut off. Cool, huh?

Sure enough, as soon as we neared the cemetery, I was only able to take two shots before the camera flickered with a "BATTERY EXHAUSTED" message and then turned completely OFF! Creepy cool! We walked on to the next square, and magically the camera turned right back on with a full battery level, and we were able to continue taking pics for the rest of the night.

Those are all the things I forgot the first time around.

We have friends who have breast fed in front of us and I see strangers doing it all the time at WDW and other public places. When the baby's hungry.....

I think it was unreasonable for your friend to ask your DH to turn around.....she should've gotten up and moved if she felt suddenly modest. I don't mind her wanting her privacy if she so desires certainly that's her choice, but at someone elses home......:confused3

Not that it's a deal breaker for a friendship. Just odd.

Savannah here I come....;)

And that ghost thing near the cemetary...just creepy.

About your friend...I doubt she was worried about your DH trying to "sneak a peek"...it was probably more like she was worried about flashing him...

I do agree with Jordan...she should have just asked you if she could finish in a spare bedroom or someplace. I guess she just forgot to practice what she'd do if a man walked in while she was feeding and said the first thing that came to mind.

1. I agree with everyone else about your friend -- she should have excused herself to another room.

2. Good to now that Savannah has good restrooms -- I don't remember that about it. :goodvibes

3. Like you said, "Creepy Cool!"

Three weeks of meetings and stuff before you can start summer vacation? That's a lot!

I think your friend should have excused herself to another room also. It is HIS house.

:thumbsup2 to the restrooms in Savannah.

That is creepy about the cameras. Now I want to go on that ghost tour!

First of all, welcome back! I've heard such great things about Savannah, I'd love to go! And Faith is just darling...what a cutie pie!

And for my 2 cents, I agree with you; I think your friend was being a bit unreasonable. It could be new mommy nerves, who knows.

I love your pictures! Looks like you two had a great time!

Your friend should have left the room if she was uncomfortable.

Cool creepy ghost tour story!

Baby clock ticking, does DH hear it too?

Hello! :wave2: I'm finally caught up! I've been reading/lurking for the past 2 days and wanted to say your PTR is great! And that Faith is ADORABLE! :cutie: Hope to read more soon! :thumbsup2

What a cutie Faith is!

I've always wanted to go to Savannah.

I love a clean city! Esp. bathrooms!

The thing with your friend breastfeeding is just weird. I feed my babies infront of people and just kept a blanket over me. It really bugs me when people act as like it's something to be embarassed or ashamed of. I agree that she should have gone to another room if she was self conscious.

Just catching up on this PTR. Lovin it. I'm a teacher too.:goodvibes

I'm so at the NK reunion! And to keep it Disney related...They DID perform at the Disney Super Bowl half time show. And they DID do a special "dreams come true" tv show at MGM. I'll never look at the Indiana Jones show the same way again!:lmao:

Not that it's a deal breaker for a friendship. Just odd.

Oh no, certainly not a deal breaker. If weird behavior was cause for us to end friendships, we would have stopped speaking to this couple a LONG time ago. First off, they play a party game called Cowboy Quarters which involves dropping quarters from a certain bodily crack into a waiting receptacle down below. This is also the same couple who had their wedding reception in a hotel with a giant stuffed polar bear in the lobby....in Illinois. This polar bear could have been the cousin of the one in Maelstrom! You gotta love them!

About your friend...I doubt she was worried about your DH trying to "sneak a peek"...it was probably more like she was worried about flashing him...

I hear you...new mom...not a lot of feeding practice.

It's nice what you learn about cities from road trips!

:thumbsup2 to the restrooms in Savannah.

That is creepy about the cameras. Now I want to go on that ghost tour!

By the time I finish all of the trainings, school will be about ready to start up again. So there all of you meanies who say, "Teachers have 3 whole months off from work."

Thanks for the back up opinion.
I would highly recommend Savannah.

Your friend should have left the room if she was uncomfortable.

Cool creepy ghost tour story!

Baby clock ticking, does DH hear it too?

The ticking still is a muffled one....not unlike the ticking Hook hears before he completely loses it.
DH is immune to baby ticking. He only hears the tinkling of money being "flushed down the toilet" with all of these trips! :headache:

Hello! :wave2: I'm finally caught up! I've been reading/lurking for the past 2 days and wanted to say your PTR is great! And that Faith is ADORABLE! :cutie: Hope to read more soon! :thumbsup2

Thanks for de-lurking! Lots more to come!

I was kind of worried Winkers that you'd have an appropriate pic for this baby-feeding story! Thank goodness not!

Hi! Now I'll have to check YouTube to find some of those clips. What was the tv show like at MGM?
