How many times have you had COVID?

Twice. First time Aug 2023 flying to Vegas. I was due to have the covid booster vaccine but held off because the new vaccine was due to come out in another month. The 2nd time was July 2024.I had gone to an indoor concert and I’m certain that’s where I got it.

Twice. Both post-vaccines, so it wasn't all that bad. Spring 2022 I got it from my dad, then I got it again last summer.

Once in November 2020. Got it on a trip to WDW!! Very, very mild and lasted a few days. I had a mild case of the sniffles and lost my taste for 3 days. I've had worse colds.

Once. Picked it up on a cruise in Italy. Summer of 2021. Vaccinated with 2 boosters. Have not had it since. Knock on wood.

3x confirmed, 2x suspected due to contacts having confirmed cases. I have had 4 vaccines (planning to get another booster once eligible again. I'm O+, so that theory doesn't work for me. I've caught it from immediate family the 3 confirmed times and coworkers the 2 suspected times. I wear a mask at work (hospital), but not in my shared office unless someone is sick. I wear a mask in my home when someone is sick as well. I have no idea why I'm so susceptible to it when I don't really get sick with anything else, ever. I'm type 2 diabetic and have high blood pressure (both well controlled with meds), 50yrs old, normal weight, exercise regularly, am active, etc. I also have a heart arrhythmia, which I have had an ablation for, that acts up when I have covid and during recovery. I worry very much about the long term effects of repeated covid and I really hope they figure out why some of us are so susceptible and get so sick from it.

1) Dec 2020, confirmed. Caught it from my mom while caregiving. She got it from her dialysis facility. I had a pretty severe case and ended up on oxygen for a few weeks. I had pretty much every symptom attributed to the virus this go round. The vaccines had just been released and I was scheduled for one the next week. Ha!
2) Dec 2021, suspected. Had started a new job at a new hospital, but we were still under strict precautions. Caught it from confirmed coworker who had minimal symptoms, which I was not aware of at the time. This time was like a bad cold for me, and some lingering stressed heart issues.
3) Aug 2022, confirmed. DH had traveled the week before and even though he wore a mask while traveling, he did not in the office and with coworkers. He developed slight allergy symptoms a couple days after he got home. Because his was so slight, we didn't even think it might be covid and we had just had boosters in June. Ugh. This time was like a bad case of influenza, serious fatigue, stomach upset, lingering stressed heart issues.
4) Oct 2023, suspected, but close coworker had a confirmed case. I did not feel too bad with this one, more on the mild side, but I apparently get the standard menu of symptoms every time, they just vary in intensity. Had to see cardiologist yet again due to lingering heart arrhythmia.
5) Jan 2025, confirmed. Was actually at DW and SonIL got sick first. He shared with the rest of us, haha. We left our trip early and I got paxlovid as soon as I took the test and it was positive. I do feel that it helped with severity, but I still had the lingering fatigue and heart issues up until this past week. Ended up in the ER one night because of my arrhythmia acting up....I tried to go back to work too soon. Apparently 12 days from first symptom and 6 days after completing paxlovid was too soon.

Three times. Last time being almost 1.5 years ago (Dec 21, Sept 22 and Oct 23). Was less bad each time.

Four times diagnosed, probably once before testing was readily available. And I have been vaccinated (required for work otherwise I would not have done it). Rest of the family never vaccinated and none have ever had it. Even when I did. I've had the flu once and it was way worse than any case of covid I had. All the times I had covid were after I was vaccinated even though I was exposed to people with covid before being vaccinated. Just my experience.

Still no covid here. The kids have had it mildly but DH and I have not. 3 vaccines each.

Only recently did DH have slight symptoms (weekend with sore throat) and didn’t test, beside that we have tested every time we had any symptom or anytime we were possibly exposed to positive family member, friend or coworker. I have no clue. Don’t think it was for a lack of testing 🤷‍♀️

I have had it twice. January 2023 and Sept/Oct 2024. The most recent time was right after I came home from Orlando and Disney. The person in front of us on the plane I think was sick. I got it as did my elderly parents. I had planned to get my next booster when I got back from the trip but instead got Covid. Finally got the booster at the end of January.

DH just tested last night, and he tested positive for COVID. This is the Fourth time he's had COVID since it was "discovered" (2020). He flew back home on a long flight several days ago and he says the plane was crowded, the airport was crowded, and the airport lounge was crowded so no doubt he got it someplace on that trip. He's had all the shots, the boosters, most recently 5 months ago, which is probably why it's always fairly mild and lasts a few days. But I didn't expect him to have it more than once or maybe twice. So how often has anyone else had it?

Once, at the very beginning, it was like a mild flu. Never tested for it, it was too early to test. I work from home and didn't miss any time. Wife had it twice, once was like the flu, once was like a cold. Daughter had it once, very mild, like a cold. Unfortunately for them, it was always on holiday. Two boys have never had it or shown symptoms of it. We chose not to vaccinate.

Once, Christmas weekend, 2023. Really poor timing, put a damper on the holiday, but I did not miss a day of work. I was fatigued for a couple of days, but really only knew I had it because I lost my sense of smell for about a week.

Still have never been tested and will not be (ever). Did get vaxed and boosted twice, once a year. Stopped getting vaxed when the whole family got a booster except me due to a scheduling conflict. They all got COVID, I did not, about 2 weeks later. That's all the data I need.

Worst case of COVID my family had was in December 2019, BEFORE the pandemic. We called it the High School plague because it seemed like everyone in my kids' HS was sick, but it not the flu. DW went to the urgent care 3 times before they finally diagnosed her with pneumonia.
