How many suitcases if your're flying?

Wondered how many cases people on here take when going to DLRP. We are flying with Easyjet and you pay £16 per case. I thought that we would have enough with 2 cases (we were OK with this last time but we did only go for 3 nights) and we are going for 5 this Xmas.

There are 3 of us - essentially 3 adults as my 15yo DD takes more clothes than us anyway. When we go to WDW for 2 weeks we take 3 cases - but I was nearly caught out with weight limits this year. It is just that in winter you take bulky clothes, boots etc which take up more room in your case.

Easyjet says we can take up to 60kg between us over (up to) 8 bags (cases) - therefore I am thinking that it doesn't matter if we go over the 20kg mark on the 2 cases we are taking.

we take one case per adult. i just split ashleighs stuff between my mams case and mine

Be careful if you're trying to squeeze lots into 1 case - although you will be allowed up to 60kg, there will still be a limit per case (for health and safety of baggage handlers).

I'm not sure exactly what this is, but I've got 25kg in my head - it's definitely worth looking into though as there is definitely a limit at some point on the weight per case

I looked all over Easyjet's site to see if there is a max per case but couldnt find anything - I know that there is a max with the US carriers. Actually 25kg would be OK - I just always seem to struggle with the 20

Looks like you're "free" allowance is 20kg per bag (see below, taken from the Easyjet website).

Checked Baggage

Every item of standard checked ('hold') baggage will incur a fee. The applicable online fee will be displayed at the time of booking baggage (whether during or after booking your flight). Alternatively, you may choose to pay a higher charge at the airport. You will be advised of this charge at the airport. Payment of the fee provides you with an aggregate allowance of 20kg across all pieces of hold baggage which may only be increased by payment of excess weight charges.

The maximum acceptable weight for each single piece of checked-in hold baggage is 32kg. Baggage which exceeds this weight will not be accepted for carriage.

Where checked-in hold baggage exceeds 20kgs in weight (subject to the above rule), each passenger will pay an excess baggage charge per kg up to a passenger maximum of 50kgs, as follows:

You know when you read something and it gets more and more confusing - this is the actual wording from my online booking

''2 Hold bag(s) per flight between all passengers combined
The 3 passenger(s) in this booking may check in a combined total of 2 hold bag(s) for each flight on this booking. The total hold weight must not exceed 60 kg. Selecting additional bags to check in won't increase the total hold weight allowed.

If you wish to add hold bags to your booking, you can add the relevant charges to your booking.''

This is how we almost got stung for excess weight on our Continental flight coming back from the US this year - I don't think any of the airlines make things clear enough - mmm - I wonder why?

There's four of us (adults) and we've paid for two cases. Only going for four days so hopefully that'll be enough!

There are 3 of us and we take 2 cases 1 large ish case with clothes in, and one small one full of snacks ,then when we have eaten all the snacks the case is empty so we can fill it up with pressies and all the stuff we buy
