I love buying dishes just like some of you like shoes. My everyday dishes have placesetting for 12. I also have Christmas dishes that we use starting the day after Thanksgiving and use through the epithany. That has a place setting for only 8. I also have China (that my mom currently has for now) that has a placesetting for 8.

I have some of the accessories that go with each of these sets. Everytime I see a new set of dishes that are neat and I point them out to DH he goes blind. "How many plates does a family of 5 need?!!" He just doesn't get it.

how many do you have?

I also have 3 bowl sets, countless oval and round platters.

You are a dish addict I think! ;) I don't even have one actual full set of dishes. All mine are hand me downs from my mom, or partial sets I've bought. I'd love to get a nice set of Disney themed dishes someday! ::yes::

I have two sets but only use one set. Oh do paper plates count? Then that would make it three.

everyday - place setting for 8
formal - place setting for 10.

Everyday 1 set (service for 16)
China 4 sets range from 8 to 24 services

Complete, or are we counting partial?

I don't think we have any more complete sets (yes, I'm clumsy and have broken a number of plates, bowls and cups over the years). We have two partial settings for 4. I did have an unopened 4-place setting that was complete and had been kept in storage, but we gave it away.

Off and on we've been picking up pieces of amber Depression glass in the Patrician/Spoke, Madrid and Sharon patterns. We have a number of pieces, but no set is complete. We don't eat on these, just collect 'em.

1 Special occassion settings for 10 persons
1 everday settings for 16 persons
plus each set has all the extras - serving dishes sugar and creamer serving utensils etc.,and I found glasses that match each set.

3 sets...

formal china (set of 16)
everyday stuff (12, I think)
and the "good stuff" (aka paper plates ;) :p )

I have everyday dishes, patio dishes, Christmas china, regular china and two sets of antique china. (it's a sickness, I know)

3- all 12 settings

Christmas
Everyday
Fine China

I also have the accessory pieces for all and the Christmas and everyday have a few extra plates.

I want a full set of all white dishes but DH doesn't understand the need:rolleyes:

mt2......you should come visit me! I'm an only child and inherited china from one great grandmother, 2 grandmothers and my mom. I also inherited the love of beautiful china from one of my grandmothers and continue to buy whenever I see something I like. My Mom often gives me china for Christmas and birthdays. There's nothing else I desire to collect. Fortunately, I live in an old Victorian house where this china can be displayed and stored. How many "complete" sets? 23!!!

I like seeing that I'm not that crazy either. I would love to get a set of everyday Disney dishes and a set of their Christmas dishes.

A colleague of mine from years ago had a set of Lady and the Tramp dishes. I nearly died when I saw them. She had gotten them about 10 years before (so about 15 yrs now).

Yes, I'll count paper plates. I have those too.

Jkovick - I would like to have patio dishes too but DH has to finish the patio. *Sigh* Maybe one day.

I have a few sets. I have a nice set, an everyday set and a set of plastic plates for those "picnic" type dinners.

I inherited a set of gold rimmed, or gold plated dishes. I'm afraid to use them because I may scratch them or something.

I have a nice everyday set of Pfaltzgraff that I got 50% off. I love the Pfaltzgraff outlet.:sunny:

Iloveepcot - I would love too see all of your China. 23 sets!!! I would spend all day. I'm trying to get back to FL in Jan. LOL

My grandmothers China was divided up between the 6 daughters. Also, all of her depression dishes were divided up too. The chances of me getting the sets back together are slim to none.

Speaking of Pfaltzgraff, SC MINNIE..... have you seen their solid white set? Really nice and can be put in the microwave and have great serving pieces. They look great sitting on bright jewel colors such as tablecloths or placemats. Ask me how I know? ;)

Another dish nut here - although some of you make me feel much better. ;)
Thinking about doing a cut and paste job with just those who have as many or more sets as we do to show to DH.

We have fine china, 2 stoneware sets and Christmas dishes.

Those are the full sets - we have bits and peices of other stuff and can't forget the tupperware and paper goods - those 2 probably get used more than anything.

Pop Daddy - my DH will gladly let you have any of ours if you need. Your too funny.
