How Many Points Do You Own?

Interesting results so far. I was under the impression that most posters here seemed to own a lot of points, yet the poll at the moment puts the majority in the 150 - 200 bracket (just like me)

Hilary I agree the majority of DVC contracts are in the 150-200 point bracket. Many of the bigger point owners no longer respond to these type of threads (although they may vote) because of prior responses, that were less than, shall we say, 'friendly'.

We have 320 point at SSR in three contracts. I would love to add on at HH because two of our children and their families live in North Carolina about 5 hours from HH. We have visited there and stayed in another timeshare, but would love to have that option at the 11 month window.

We started at 230, went to 300 in about 1998, and then to 450 last year. This is the first year we had to sell some because of other vacations we took last year and my taking summer classes this year, but I could never, ever have enough.

Being Disney-maniacs, this is one of the best financial decisions we ever made.

Started with 300. When DH changed jobs we bought another 120, all at SSR. The only way DH will let me buy more is if the put a DVC at AKL or The Contemporary.

An impression of the level of DVC ownership BY MEMBERS OF THESE BOARDS for those considering purchase. I suspect the mean number of points owned by DISers - who are almost all crazy Disney fans - is somewhat higher than the entire population average. I also suspect we are more likely to add on, more likely to own more than one resort, more likely to have Annual Passes, less likely to "share" a contract between families, more likely to own "extra" points and rent them, etc.

It may be possible to do some sort of correlation between how much time you spend on the DIS and how many DVC points you should own!
