They were really surprised mine didn't go through, but they also mentioned a small VWL priced at $92 or $95 just got ROFR'd too.

Wow. That's really significant. Disney only sells VWL for $92/point. With closing costs, Disney would be losing money on those points. If they really did ROFR that contract, that meand Disney is willing to take a small loss to keep a potential new member with less than 50 points out of the system. That's a big deal that could have a major effect on the resale market.

That looks like the path for us at this time, when we had to back out of our buy-in thru Disney last Oct. (day before we were going to close my wife lost her job) we were buying 150 points @ WLV. I just talked to my guide last week and he said that there were points available for the lodge. I wonder if Disney is buying back small contracts to enable them to sell bigger contracts to properties that are already sold out to people that have no interest in buying at SSR.

Just a thought

Thanks again Dave

We started with a 50 point resale last year that we had cash to pay for. We plan on adding in the future in small increments. It is easy to do that direct from Disney or through resale.

With the AP perk, the savings for the three of us in our family is more than our annual dues.

We only have enough points for 4 or 5 nights a year at a DVC resort, but that's OK. We like the cabins at Fort Wilderness now and then and it is better to pay cash there than use points.

Having a small contract is better than no contract at all! :earsboy:
